Just wondering : we just got off the Solstice and Peter Baker was activity manager and said it was his last cruise. Ben Pawney was CD. Did I miss something ?
-
Just off the Solstice, I met Rose, she is excellent in her role !
-
We went the 2 first weeks of June last week, weather was perfect, warm and perfect for touring.
-
The best for us were the train ride to Yukon from Skagway and the Resurrection Bay cruise in Seward.
-
I also loved the Summit, everything excellent : good food, good shows !
-
There always is a nice lunch served in the dining room ( part buffet, sit-down for main dish) and a buffet upstairs with a barbque style meal as well. I do not remember the currency issue.

We stayed at the Eurostar last June. Could walk everywhere ($120 double). Very nice, good staff support. Would stay there again and I am fussy !!

We are planning a cruise from Paris on Viking in the summer. Where do ships dock ? close to which attractions ??
-
I noticed on the marine traffic site that since December 20th a lot of ships are staying in different ports. Are there any river cruises after the Christmas markets and before March ??
-
Last June we stayed at the Eurostar in Budapest ($120), very nice, walkable from ship and to all attractions. Breakfast not included but McDonalds not far.
-
If the ship docks, the walk is not safe to town !
-
Last June we stayed at the Eurostar and loved it ( Budapest), best place for dinner was Karpatia not too far from hotel.
-
Enjoy ! We did the same cruise in June on the Idi and had a fabulous trip, everything was perfect !
Last trip the Idi went to Rotterdam as per marine traffic indicated, any reason why ?
-
I saw that the Viking Idi is in Rotterdam ( off course) anybody know what is going on ?
-
We stayed at the Eurostar in Budapest, great hotel, very affordable and well located. Our favorite restaurant : Karpatia !
-
We were on the Viking Idi in June, fantastic.
Three weeks before your cruise you will get a booklet with the optional excursions mentioned, you can then book or on the first day on-board.
Almost nobody wore jackets, but people still dressed smart casual, collar shirts for men very seldom dresses for ladies, more nice pants suits.
For the tip you can pay in envelopes or go to the desk on the last evening and have them charged on a credit card.

Excellent beds, no backpain !

We are looking to book a hotel in Honolulu for 3-4 days before our cruise in April. Are there any quiet spots ? We want good value for price , any suggestions ?
-
I was on the Grnd European tour on the Viking Idi on June 1st, loved every minute !

It is just the beginning, just back from a fabulous Viking cruise !!!!!
-
I also like the moving hotel concept. just back from a Viking cruise, loved the itinerary, the service and the food but I did miss the entertainment after dinner and also the pool on a hot day. we will keep doing both !!\!
-
I also felt the same way, I love the longboats !

I really feel sorry for everybody, we just got back one week ago from a cruise on the Viking Idi and had a wonderful cruise. We had minor impacts, stayed a little longer in some ports and a little less elsewhere but overall everything was handled by the wonderful staff. I did not realize how lucky we were, the ship did get stuck on sand twice but backed up and went thru.
I hope all will be resolve shortly!

Confirming all your entries. Alejandro is one of the best CD I have ever seen , in the same class as Sue Denning.

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in Bayonne, you can walk to a Ruby Tuesday restaurant and there is also free parking during the cruise ( but the shuttle is not free),
