  1. Hi All,

We will be sailing on the Meraviglia next weekend with my two daughters, their husbands and children in three cabins. Because one of them has 3 children, we have registered their 8 yo in our cabin. Will we need a notarized letter with the parents permission even though they are in an adjoining cabin? TIA

Anyone have any idea how long it takes to hear back if you email the existing reservations email address? I tried emailing them over the weekend about my issue of not being able to see my September and February cruises on my account, but I may just try calling after work.

I have had several emails never responded to, but phone wait time isn't bad. They can't always help but will suggest you email mscexistingreservations 😂

Thanks for the great reviews, looked forward to your daily posts!

  3. We successfully won bids to upgrade 2 cabins to YC but that was at the end of COVID when ship was only 20% full. We had to wait until sail away to get the rooms next to each other. As our favorite thing to do is hang on our balconies at night (MSC opens the petition between the cabins), we knew we were taking a chance that we couldn't be side by side. It worked for us then, but I wouldn't take the chance with these full or nearly full ships! Whatever you decide....enjoy!

I will also check out MSC. I like to go for the itinerary/price and then the cruise company. Though I love the loyalty perks that NCL gives (I think best in of all), I really like RCL and would consider any other company for the right combination.

We are platinum on NCL and will reach the next level after our 3/26 cruise, but prefer MSC. And they will match your other cruise line (hotel, airline, etc) status so your perks are there on your first cruise!

And how could I forget the cancellation of Dominican Republic and the addition of a sea day. Lesson learned: don’t wait until the last port  to buy gifts ( especially booze) Ship

prices were high compared to my MA packie so bought rum at home for a gift.

We live on the NH border and that's what we have been doing lately, especially if we're flying!

Thanks for the review! We are on the Getaway on the 26th sailing and will see the shows you recommend

The 29$ day at the beach tour is the one at the Hilton.  They should mention that.   I don’t k ow why they don’t.   I actually called  before our cruise to ask what it entailed and the ncl agent didn’t know.

Thank you for your reply! Do you remember if this was the Hilton Ocean Front or the Hilton Garden Inn? Could you use the pool, bar and restrooms?

    Thanks,

POrt Canaveral - had a layover here.   Got in at about 4 pm.  Left the next day around 6.  We took the transfer to Cocoa Beach for a NCL excursion that was free because of the 50$ credit.   They drop you off at a Hilton on the beach and you get to use their facility.    We rented chairs for 20$ and had a beach day.  The weather was great but hot. We left early and took an uber back to the boat.  A short 15 min ride.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review! We will be sailing on 3/26 and the only excursions I see for Cocoa Beach are the transfer to Cocoa Beach Surf Company for $15.00 which runs each way every 30 minutes, or for $29.00 a 6 hour stay at Cocoa Beach. Did your tour specify the Hilton or did you just do it on your own? TIA

We are leaving out of Brooklyn NY Red Hook cruise terminal and can’t find much info on park sleep and fly which most cruise ports have. I imagine because it is NY that there isn’t any. My travel agent can only find transfers from JFK and it is $44 each way=$264, which seems pricey. We are debating just driving to the port and parking at the pier. Parking at the pier is $240. We are coming from Massachusetts so not interested in flying. This is our first cruise with MSC, and we are bringing our 10 year old grandson. We are both seniors so don’t feel comfortable with public transportation. Thanks for any info that you can give me.

We will be taking Amtrak to Penn Station (NJ not NY) in june. Only $108.00 round trip from Boston and then uber or taxi to Red Hook

  9. Always need to keep in mind that 3 and/or 4 day cruises are often used as "booze cruises" for the younger passengers! It's a cheap vacation with "free booze". We will be on the Mera in June, and have been 4 times previously. Only once in YC, but always 7+ days, and have never had a problem getting a drink. If I have to wait a bit, no problem, I'll get one sooner or later! After all, I have all day 😁! Enjoy!

  10. I will be taking photos of our BC very soon! Bless your Mom for saving the day!

On another note (and not trying to hijack the thread), last cruise in the fall, I packed ALL my clothes and had to leave the ship in my night dress! We cruise/travel at least twice a year and have more than 30 cruises under our belts. I was so focused on not letting the empty clothes hangars rattle all night by tying them together with my sweater, I doubled checked that clean under clothes and DL's jeans were on the shelves and put the suitcases in the hall for collection. Luckily i had said sweater to wear and rummaged through the suitcase as soon as we retrieved it and changed in the restroom! I'm quite sure that will never happen again!! I know, I know ..... never say never!

Happy New Year, all! Cheers to being human!! 🥂

By the way, the Assistant GM stated we have 1,238 guests on board, with 1,673 staff creating glorious vacation memories for all of us! In April we had 4,400 passengers with around 1,300 crew. You can tell the difference in the crew's attitude, smiles, and small talk! Plus, so many of the crew have free time to explore Orlando today and tomorrow. They are so excited to get on solid ground for a few hours.

Loving your review! We are on her next week and hope the numbers are the same!
