I’ve taken land vacation in Taipei, Taiwan.  Most cruise ships usually dock at Keelung City north of Taipei.  You can go to Taipei city or visit some interesting places near Keelung. .  I can help you more on Taipei/Taiwan if you're interested.

This is a fantastic trip - you guys will have a wonderful time.  We've found that European itineraries seem to adhere more to the MDR dress requests, both on regular and formal evenings.  Asia was the same.

One note that we found fun, there will be very few Americans onboard.  The majority were Australian, European, or Asian - likely due to the distance.  It is well worth the trip, was one of my favorite cruises.

O Thank You!!  This wasn't my first Itinerary choice - But  agreed , as to be able to help my folks plan and make the most of the Sites at the ports. I am so happy to hear your Positive Thoughts!!

  4. Looks Like 3 Formal Nights on our 16 day cruise from Singapore north to Shanghai - Octogenarian Parents  & 3 middle aged ladies traveling.

Been on several Princess cruises  but never in this part of the world - Will formal nights here be similar?

If there are other differences - Other than attire -  would love to hear about that too.

I Thank You In advance for Any and All Comments &  Suggestions.

  5. Thank you for ALL Your Suggestions... The Port is the Marina Bay Cruise Centre (MBCCS).  We are staying in Chinatown area but wondered if after dropping off luggage at Port, We could take a taxi to some spot closer to port area to spend an hour or 2 .   AND that brings up a  Second Question - We are a group of 5 adults  - So are taxis readily available for 5 passengers?  Again Thank You!!

  6.   Are there things to do and see after dropping off your luggage at the port?     Between Hotel Check out time and the ship leaving is there anything worth walking around to see that is very close to the port?     What facilities does the Port offer?  Any Suggestions would be very helpful!

  7. My Octogenarian Folks are planing a 10 day cruise to Singapore, Kota Kinabalu Malaysia, Boracay  & Manila Philippines, Hong Kong, Taipei, Okinawa - Nagasaki & Hakata Japan, ending in Shanghai.

Any ideas on what Sites/ Excursions should not be missed?

    Any Tour Operator recommendations?

What kind of weather would one expect?

Pro & Cons of Flying EZ Air from West Coast Comments?

Anything You would like to add that would be helpful is Very Much Appreciated!!

  8. I have been told by a family member who lives in Buenos Aries for almost 5 years now – that he has never exchanged money in a bank – always in Casa De Cambios   ( Translation - House of Change) for the best rate.. Especially if they are large bills. (100's bring the Best rate) - Be sure to Bring only new untorn/unfolded bills.  You will need Passport for ID.

Right now it is around 35 - So  $100.00 USD would equal 3,500 AR Pesos

Here is a Trip advisor post from this year basically saying the same…...

I just googled " casa de cambios buenos aires" and many options show up

  11. Since the USD Ratio was so good - I tried getting a small amount of AR Pesos from 2 different banks last Thursday - with no luck.

Both (major) Banks said Argentina was not on the list - but they had thought it was before.

Any thoughts on trying to exchange some money before going to get a better rate - OR or just use Credit cards and US dollars while there??

  12. Originally I just paid the driver at the end of the trip.. but now they just bill my CC number they have on file after the service. They have picked up my 84 year old parents at Airport & Cruise terminal more than once - they always call to let me know when they have them in the car & ETA. Again - First Rate Service!

  13. When we were in Nynashamn we had the same question. After doing some research we learned that the lines at the Vasa Museum (which we definitely wanted to visit) were quite long and that if you wanted to avoid the lines you should consider taking a tour. We found a Princess tour (Stockholm on your own, or something similar) which drove us into Stockholm, did a brief motor coach tour around the city, took us to the Vasa (no waiting at all, and the lines were long) and then dropped us off near the royal palace. We had time to watch the changing of the guards, walk the downtown area, have lunch and return to the pick up area with time to spare. This was a perfect solution as it solved the transportation problem, eliminated the hour long wait to get into the Vasa, and gave us time on our own in Stockholm. What ever you do, Stockholm is a beautiful city so enjoy it to the fullest.

    When was your cruise?.
