  1. We are going in next Feb and I have already booked two non p&o excursions. Do the research now. Check tripadvisor for the companies doing excursions and activities on each island.

  2. We spent a day here last Feb and had a very relaxing time. We stayed mostly on the beach with drinks being brought to us, and enjoyed the buffet lunch very much. Hit the spot for us and i am probably going to book again for our return to St Lucia in Feb 15

  3. I was confined to my inside cabin for two days with a tummy bug, probably not Norovirus, but the cruise line were not taking any chances. The content of the TV channels was dire!

Having said that the TV is something we normally have on in the background to listen to the news while getting changed, or watching a film late at night before going to sleep. In all honesty I have no complaints.

  4. My work life and home life to some extent are ruled by internet connections, access to email etc.

The prohibitive cost of WiFi on cruises means I don't connect and I can have a truly relaxing holiday not worrying about work emails.

We all know that even if we just say we are just gong to check work emails, we end up responding to them and worrying about them!

  5. A friend and I cycled one year! It was such a lovely day we rented bikes from the railway station , Blankenburg I think, and it took us a couple of hours of leisurely riding thru the countryside.

We didn't spend much time in Bruges, but we had been there many times before so the bike ride was actually the highlight for us

  6. We spend the day at the Rendezvous Resort , about 10 mins taxi ride from the ship. The day pass was $65 (£40) each and included free alcoholic drinks and a very nice buffet lunch.

Security guards were on the beach and absolutely no vendors or hawkers in sight , only staff bringing the drinks to the sunbed !

  7. General rule of thumb, pack your case and then remove half of it !

We are just back from 2 weeks in the Caribbean with Azura. Apart from the formal wear - long dress and one other cocktail dress with matching shoes, all I really wore were the same three skimpy summer dresses in rotation ,three swimming costumes in rotation and a pair of pink crocs !

Most of the rest of the stuff just languished on the hangars or on the shelves.

  8. I have been in the Retreat once and I saw tables and canopies set out for massage, though not actually being used.

The pool is available to Adults only I believe. There were no children on the cruise we were on, and the pool was very rarely used

Although the Retreat is a nice area and not crowded, the wind was howling all day through the area. It wasn't cold or anything, but was noisy !

I got a day pass for £12 and it was a port day so hardly anyone there. Its first come, first serve for day passes and not many available

  9. Indeed. we have already booked for Azura for Feb 2015 as we had such a great holiday and met a lot of lovely and interesting people.

I can't think of anything that merits a criticism, except perhaps for the rain (sorry, liquid sunshine!), which P&O sadly cannot control ;-)

  10. Loobs40, that is a new one on me!!!!!!!. Is your case magnetic then??

I assume these are films you have downloaded, that are probably more upto date than what is shown on the tele in the cabin.

I have a google nexus -I guess that is a tad too small to attach to the wall and watch anything.

It was my husband who discovered this by accident on an NCL cruise. It is indeed the cover that is metal. We download films and programmes from bbc iplayer etc onto the ipad and watch them on the plane or late at night.

I also have some recent Take That concerts on my IPad that I like to watch....

    I'll get my coat....

  11. Hi, Has anyone used this lounge before departing on the charter back to the UK and can give a view on whether its worth the cost?

We have one 'Lounge Club' membership and total cost for us would be £15 (visitor cost).

Do the timings mean that after after transfer from the ship to the airport, we have a couple of hours kicking around the airport before boarding the flight?

    thanks:)

  12. Another option is to put the phone in 'Flight Mode' (check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airplane_mode) rather than turning it off completely. That should disable access to any phone network you might accidentally connect to

I use my phone for listening to music, camera and games, as well as a clock and then when I am in a place with wifi I can use it as a phone using BT SmartTalk

  13. if you enjoy the Spa, as soon as you board get right up there and get the therapists to give you a quick tour of the facilities. On my last cruise on the NCL Jade, they had a pass for about £10 a day which gave you access to the spa facilities such as sauna, jacuzzi, relaxation rooms etc. It can be a very relaxing place to chill especially on sea days when there is no room anywhere else on the ship, and on the Jade the view was fantastic.

Another tip, costing next to nothing. Take some post it notes with you so when you inevitably split up to do your own thing, you can leave messages in your cabin about where you are, where and when to meet etc. Especially useful when you have a couple of teenagers holidaying with you.
