  1. Thanks to this thread I called our TA this afternoon and asked if Princess was offering any upgrades. The rep I spoke with said that Princess normally didn't offer upsells until around two weeks before sailing. She offered to check with her contact and I held. She came back with great news that they were offering to upgrade from an inside cabin to a balcony for $119 pp.

This is for the aft section of Regal sailing the end of next month. If I wanted mid ship the price was approximately $250 pp. I agreed to the aft area and was given two cabins, one on the Emerald deck and the other on the Marina deck. The Marina cabin would have been near the Horizon Court so I passed on that one.

I accepted the Emerald cabin and once again held while everything was confirmed with Princess. More good news, the cost was now only $162 in total. Uh OK I'll take that!

So there are deals to be had, just research where you'd like to be and pick accordingly.

Thanks again for posting this topic!

  2. I did take offence to your comments as I was only trying to help the OP. I also attended a Celebrity engineering lecture in December 2010 on Infinity. Thank you for the links but I have waded through enough technical and engineering documents in my career. This will be my last post on this subject, I'll leave the water and electrical discussions to the two experts. Think about how your comments may be taken by people before you hit the submit button. This is why a lot of members here including myself rarely post on CC.

  3. If a machine requires distilled water then one should either arrange for the cruise line to provide it or bring it on board with them.

Well pardon me water treatment expert. I'm only going on what I've been told by cruise ship staff. I guess I'd better ask for a jug of distilled water or lug one with me in a couple of weeks. Also, are you saying there aren't any 110 V outlets at all that are near the bed? That sounds bizarre to say the least. Oh and I wouldn't call five cruises with some being 14 days to be "limited use". I'll just lurk and keep my mouth shut from now on. :(

  4. I've used my CPAP on both HAL and Celebrity and never had a problem. I just ask for an extension cord and put it away every morning. We're aware where it is and have never tripped on it in the night. As for distilled water, where do you think the ships water comes from? It's distilled ocean water and perfectly fine for your canister. I've never had it leave residue in all the cruises, unlike tap water on land. Enjoy your cruise. :)
