It was previously reported that Silhouette isolation cabins are on deck 3 and porthole (aka oceanview) or inside cabins only. Are you just waiting for test results and in quarantine due to being close contacts, or are you positive and something has changed?

Hi, we were both positive. Sailed on the 4th COVID on the 8th. We were very cautious didn’t mix with anyone and triple vaccinated. I believe we caught it at Miami airport where we were made to queue with hundreds of people for passport control, it took 2 1/2 hours to get through. Most wore masks but some didn’t.. we left the ship this morning at 7-45 taken by crew in full PPE to the dockside where a car was waiting to take us to a hotel of our choice. We didn’t see any passengers it felt very strange. We are now free because we did 6 days quarantine on the ship. Unfortunately it’s not the holiday we had planned because on the day we were quarantined we also received an email saying our Jewel of the Seas cruise on the 15th had been cancelled due to COVID. We are now staying in hotels until our flight home on the 24th.

Thanks so much for this information!

It sounds like Constellation isolation is being handled way more pleasantly than on some other ships. Silhouette is reported to be using Deck 3 inside and porthole cabins for their red zone — not balconies.

My recently recovered friend is very claustrophobic; that’s the reason for the concern about what would happen if she had to be tested as a close contact. She could very well still pull and positive on a PCR test in 3 weeks.

    Loved the sunset shot!

We are currently on Silhouette and in quarantine on deck 6 balcony

    Hi

This is one for any recent cruisers from either the UK or Ireland. Can anyone confirm that the test you took prior to flying to the USA was accepted for boarding the ship. We are on the 25th Feb sailing on Silhouette and are flying from Dublin the day before. We will be taking an antigen test prior to the flight to the US with Randox at Dublin. Wondering it this will be ok.

Yes it should be fine, we took a test at Heathrow on the 2nd and sailed on the 4th. Enjoy your cruise

It all depends on the country.   There is a long list of countries that are accepting antigen tests to enter.

i.e. in UK you can purchase a "My Travel Kit"  for approx $32 USD or 24 pounds and use the test remotely as your pre-departure test to fly back into the UK then they must take a PCR within 2 days of their arrival in the UK.

Thank you for this information, I have been able to order my test kits, janice

  5. Hi, just to let you know we were able to drop our cases off at 11.30. We were given a map of Lisbon and told the earliest check in was 2.30. We had a lovely time walking around and having lunch. Check in took 90 minutes with some of the time spent queuing in the sun, it was 4.30 before we reached our cabin I’m so pleased we had lunch. Cruise was good but not brilliant, we have experienced better food. We bought the 3 night dining package but other than the first night there were problems. Discoveries was good and on the whole food tasty. Happy sailing everyone!

I’m going to be honest I feel your pain but you need to see the bigger picture and in this Azamara will be no different to other lines.

    1. They currently are selling Caribbean itineraries many in the US are looking forward to. They have to do a transatlantic to honour that obligation so will sell it as a cruise- that’s business sense.
    2. Asking them to cancel because there are issues for UK and European guests who will have quarantine rules is one sided. There were issues for US guests coming to round UK cruises that many British people have enjoyed but they did not get cancelled just because the US guests couldn’t join them - again that’s business sense.

Appreciate you are in a not knowing the final answer but you are either going to have to

cancel and accept the FCC as Phil did which he thought was best for him

ride it out and pay the balance and see if that leads you an FCC, a refund, an insurance claim or a cruise because the rules change again and you can go

No perfect answer but you have to look at it big picture

Hi, I don’t want the cruise cancelled for everyone but I hope Azamara will cancel our cruise as we cannot enter the US and we don’t want a FCC as we already have lots of cruises booked with other lines and cannot fit in another. Janice

I was bumped off MSC and have rebooked on Marella Explorer from Southampton on 2 Jul and I'm confident that they have not overbooked these trips.  Especially as it's now a week after the announcement and the sailings are still on sale.

    See you onboard
