Just get the Social Media plan and if you need to be reached they can message you on FB Messenger or WhatsApp or one of those.

We do this and have even been able to make calls though FB messenger by just having the Social Media plan. No extra charge.

Can someone give me the condensed version of what Carnival's VPP covers? I've read through the policy and it's a bit overwhelming. I need the "Carnival Vacation Protection Plan for Dummies" book. ;)

The term "cave tubing" sounds way more adventurous than it actually is. It's basically a giant lazy river that is extremely shallow in most parts. I am not a great swimmer and am usually uncomfortable being in the water, but cave tubing was absolutely awesome!

A friend of mine purchased Cruise Cash and Bottomless Bubbles from the Fun Shop. Would these purchases show up on the cruise documents she prints prior to the cruise (like an OBC would)? Or does it just show up as a credit on her S&S account?

When we used FTTF on the Elation and Fascination, we were given the choice of 2 different times to meet to be escorted off the ship. The early one was around 8:15. I don't remember the later time.

I am a TA and can tell you that there is nowhere in the reservation system to reserve a particular table or table size.

It looks like TAs are unfairly getting the credit and the blame (depending on the outcome) for something that is actually out of their control.

We like Prytania Park Hotel. Parking is free and the hotel has a boutique feel to it and every room is unique. It's about 1/2 mile from port.

Dial 7 has been the cheapest door to door option I've found for my NYC trips. About $35/each way. Be sure to get a coupon code on retailmenot.com (normally $5 off).

Those round room service trays are way too large and heavy for my needs,

But, they aren't round and heavy. They are plastic rectangular trays just like the ones they used to have at the buffets.

Click on the "Manage" tab, then click "My Booking" and then "Add My Booking".

It is true you do pay for upsells

I am well aware of that, but it is still considered an upgrade whether you pay for it or not. OP would be upgrading her cabin, correct? Paying for the upgrade doesn't change the definition of the word.

This is called an Upsell not an Upgrade. Upgrades are usually free and this I would consider an upsell. Upgrades are usually automatic with no way to reverse them.

We were offered an upsell on our very first cruise and we accepted the offer. We have received no offers since then.

This does not make sense to me. When I have used a TA that gave OBC, the OBC reduced only if the price of the cruise dropped because their commission was based on the price of the cruise - sailing on Celebrity or RCCL, not Carnival. How does the TA's commission drop if you are using GC? Maybe I'm missing something, but I would be a bit disappointed if this happened to me. :o

I'm a TA and can tell you that when someone pays with a gift card, it does not decrease the TA's commission at all. The TA deducting the OBC makes absolutely no sense.

OP - How would choosing your own cabin help you avoid the noise on the ship?

A cheeseburger and potato salad from the grill as my first meal as soon as I board the ship. :D
