Hi I just found this thread ! And I travel solo mostly on RCL but I'd like to try Princess Lines which I've heard good things about.
But as far as I can see they never waiver from their 200% single supplement. Anyone know when they publish sales or if there is ever a
better deal for solo on Princess?
Thanks
Mahya,
At times, I have traveled solo with RCL and have also heard good things about Princess, hence I am taking Caribbean Princess 5/24/09 out of Brooklyn, NY. First time with Princess and 9 cruises with RCL.
I am sure I will have a great time and as always can not wait!!!!
As you have cruised previously, then you know there are so many variables to single supplement.....
FYI, Princess is now giving us solo cruisers two credits for each cruise and I bet that the other cruise lines will follow. They should have been giving us credit all along!!!

You're welcome. I know the frustration that you were going through because I was there. lol I also sent a email to them but haven't heard anything back. Thanks for the info that they're going to fix it...at some point. I did notice that they had a new discount for last minute cruises, don't select that price because it will only show the guarentee categories (IS etc...) not the 1A.

Mark,
Thanks for the tip with Carnival 1A out of New York. I will be on Caribbean Princess 5/24/09 and RCL Explorer 9/17/09. If I did not have these 2 booked, I would seriously consider Carnival out of New York 9/12/09. The price for this single supplement is terrific!! I just checked it.
Perhaps I will try Carnival next year or November 2009....
Happy Cruising,

A thread for single supplement/solo bargains is very helpful for solo cruisers. :)
There used to be one, but it disappeared  ...maybe it got too big.
So let's start another one and see what happens.
:D Post all those great deals everyone! :D
But remember, you can't mention specific travel agencies, just general info like:
"Cruise line .... currently has good prices for solo occupancy on .... sailing".
Thanks CruisinRyan for this Thread!!! Not able to use any info yet, but keep it coming. Booked on Caribbean Princess out of NY 5/24/09 and Explorer of the Seas 9/17/09 out of Bayonne (Cape Liberty), NJ.

Hello Cherylroslyn,
I am seriously considering Carnival Miracle next April 21 out of Manhattan category 1A. A little apprehensive about Manhattan as I have read on CC that the pier can be difficult getting to and fro. Any input from you would be appreciated... Have also given some thought to cruise Nov. 21 Carnival, Cat. 1A, out of Manhattan. Still thinking about that one...
But I am leaving May 24 Caribbean Princess out of Brooklyn, NY. Am ready now!!!:D
What I find interesting is that cruises leaving the Northeast are more $$ for the same amount of nights. I guess the reason is that maybe docking in the NE is more and it takes more fuel to get to the Caribbean??
I wouldn't worry about Swine, in my opinion, the reporting is always exaggerated. Life is too short to worry. As I have gotten older, I find I do not worry as much, because there is nothing you can do about it!! Just take precautions and enjoy life!!!
I am with you in that "a cruise with no stops is better than no cruise at all....right?" ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It beats staying home, working, preparing meals, making beds, cleaning, etc. You get the picture, right????
Happy cruising to all,
Regards,
NewJersey222:):D
