  1. The Az T shirts that can be won at trivia are really strong and tough.

    Our dog loves them.

Cut the sleeves off, roll them in a tube and tie them with a knot in the middle, they make a great toy to tug with the dog.

The one I got in November is lasting really well.

  2. We are now back in Livorno until around 16:00, the Captain was keen to stress that both Italian bureaucracy and the fact it is a Sunday will not speed up our clearance to sail for Barcelona.

Surprisingly we are being allowed to disembark.

  3. The Captain has been very transparent by explaining Maritime law and regulations regarding the ship being passed fit to sail. In the meantime we sit and wait for the seal of approval to sail.

    Monaco has been dropped.

Sorry....don't agree with you.  We are not children....we would like to KNOW  what is going on. Reassurances without explanations are not  reassuring.

So was 07:30 in the morning when the Captain addressed the ship too late for you?

    We are  onboard the Onward.

Very concerned and disappointed  at lack of communication.  No explanation as to cause of failure.

Been about 8 hours since any communication as to what is going on.

They are not going to communicate anything during the night and cause panic.

I would expect announcements between 7am and 8am when most people will be up.

  6. Yesterday evening around 20:50 Onward suffered an electrical failure as we sailed from Livorno for Monaco.

Twenty minutes later power was restored. Anchor was dropped off the coast to bring shore based staff on board to ensure everything was satisfactory.

Based on Apple Maps, Google Maps and Cruise Mapper, this morning we are still anchored off Livorno, and the air con went off around 6am.

It’s a bit early for announcements from the bridge.

Since this is a cabin thread, i will ask if anyone is familiar with Club Continent Suite 8001 on the Onward. we know it's just below the exercise area. We were hoping that since most of us old farts don't do that kind of thing any advise would be appreciated

It’s a great suite, we had it last year. Quiet and right beside stairs and elevators.

We also had Elro as our butler and he is the best.

Received this generic email from Azamara today for our upcoming cruise in November

    Dear VICKI,

We can't wait to welcome you onboard for your upcoming cruise! Now through October 20, 2023, you can save up to 20% on immersive Shore Excursions, Unlimited Internet Package, or upgrade to top-shelf liquors and wines with the Ultimate Beverage Package. Whether you want to explore like a local with shore excursions, share your favorite memories of your cruise in real time, or enjoy exquisite wines and cocktails, we have the perfect package to make your voyage truly exceptional.

Book your package or excursion today to take advantage of this limited-time offer.

    Change The Way You Sea

As Discoverer Plus with over 20 plus cruises I already get 20% saving on the drink package advertised. Also again due to status will get savings on my Wifi

So it seems someone who has never cruised with Azamara before will get exactly the same discount on their upgraded drinks package as I would. You would think they would a little more to loyalty members who already qualify for the discount offered

I really think it’s another “ downgrade “ of he loyalty scheme for loyal cruisers.

Vicki, like you I received this email and as Discoverer Plus was totally bewildered by it.

I have been tempted to waste my precious time and ring Azamara to try and procure a 40% discount 😜

I'll probably wait until I'm onboard check out the tonic water situation, and the Ultimate Package wines and use my OBC if they tick all the boxes.

  9. Unfortunately Gary Bembridge’s videos are all about Gary Bembridge!

I tracked back through all of his videos in chronological order (from the most recent) and unless he cruises and then doesn’t do a video (highly unlikely) it is over a year since he set foot on an Azamara ship.

He is making assumptions by what he has read about the substandard shoreside experience, and not reflecting the onboard professionalism.

...since it's apparently the most recently updated/renovated, to my knowledge?  Since it came over from Princess, I'd assume the renovation was extensive, true?

We cruised on Onward in June 2022 on the fourth cruise post refurbishment, and lets just say there work in progress to get the ship up to Azamara’s standard.

It hasn’t put us off as we are booked to return in a few weeks.

Whilst onboard we had a conversation with Tony Markey who was present at both the Onward and Pursuit refurbishments, when asked about the end result (post refurbishment) of the two ships he nearly choked, in replying that Pursuit was a vastly superior job.

From what I have read on these forums Azamara seem to have done a great job, whilst in operation to bring Onward up to the condition she is in now.

We will be embarking at Galataport in October and wanting to know if anyone had any problems getting through the port .  What paperwork was needed? Have read where some people had problems as they did not have a key card?

We disembarked at Galataport in June 2022, we had completed our 10,000 steps by the time we got out of the terminal.

This could be the Tuesday update problem, I say this because on our accounts I’ve noticed any changes always happen on a Tuesday.

Would pay to check the following, don’t log in on Azamara.com but select “Book now” on any random cruise this will take you to Seaware.Azamara.com the Versonix accounts software. Once there sign in with your usual login, once in your account select club programs, hopefully you will then see both your correct account number & points as well as this erroneous account. If you do just ask Azamara to delete the error account and everything should be fine 🤞

Can’t be 100% certain but I think these accounts were created as part of the account integration system and should have been removed ages  ago but some still seem to exist.

Thank you Riocca, I don't know how you discovered this but it definitely works. 😊

Hahaha, I've gone from Discoverer+ to Preview with zero points 😕 But I've got my new Az circle number back 😊

I get the same occasionally if I log out clear cookies and log back in usually all is good again.

I've done that with only partial success to date. Let's call it work in progress.

  15. I knew it was too good to last.

During all the trials and tribulations of the Az website all my details and bookings including OBC and Azamara circle level all remained correct.

I have just checked today and it is now zilch!

It will probably correct itself in due course, so much for thinking I’d escaped unscathed.

I’m not going to get too hung up by it.

If you have a chance....can you tell us about the Red wines that are included and not upgraded to the ultimate package.

Are they still using the generic Azamara label for the wines?

Thank you for your time and any information.  It is greatly appreciated.

I’m not onboard Onwards yet, I will be in a few weeks time.

Maybe as FFMilesJunkie who is the original poster of the wine photograph can help.

Thanks for the information. I am disappointed with the Beaujolais and the Wolf Blass as they are £5-£7 wines and not really worthy of being called "Ultimate".

The Greg Norman Shiraz and the Castiglioni Chianti are much better wines £14-£16.

I am on Pursuit in November and wonder what they will have on offer? I will leave upgrading until I am on board to make an "informed" decision.

I'm of the exact same opinion. The Wolf Blass horrified me.

I cannot be 100% sure but I think the Perry Golfers on the Aug/Sept Intensive Ireland cruise went to Adare Manor from Foynes (even better than Portrush in Country Antrim).  We met a couple of golfers and they said it was the best course on the whole trip (the other courses were also very good).

Excuse the pun, but its a bit like horses for courses

The two golf courses are like chalk and cheese, Royal Portrush is a Links course and Adare Manor parkland.
