  1. Cabin 8039. Club Continent Suite

    Ship. Azamara Quest

    Sail Date. 13th October 2018

Choose Again  - Maybe but some noise early morning from deck above with chairs etc being moved.

Balcony - slightly larger than standard cabins

Comments   Nice cabin with easy access to lifts. Was able to fit 4 chairs on the balcony for drinks with friends. As stated there was some noise early morning from the deck above it wasn’t a major problem but we were aware of it. Terrible smell from the shower drain when we first boarded but this was put right by maintenance.

  2. We went on our first Azamara cruise over Christmas/New Year and loved it so booked for next Christmas whilst on board which includes an overnight in Havana and this is where I need some clarification. I understand that we have to pay $75 each for a visa which was never mentioned by the girl that did the booking for us but my main concern is that I have just read on another thread that we are only allowed off the ship if we are doing an approved tour does that mean that at no time are we allowed to wander round on our own if so that is a huge disappointment as the length of time in Havana was the main reason for booking.

  3. We have decided on a cruise... just can not pass up the itinerary. But it is way way more than we have every paid before. Will eat up our travel budget for at least 2 years. So, when or does Azamara have sales or specials? Thanks

We booked for October 2018 a few weeks ago I know it's really early but we wanted to be away for our 50th anniversary got really good on board credit which hopefully will pay for some of the excursions we want to do, yes it's very expensive in fact it's the most we have ever paid we call it our spending the kids inheritance cruise.

  4. I never been to St Kitts.. what is the best and most unique thing to do there? Al the ships excursions look the same.. I would ask the same question about Grand Turk? I hear is small and that the ship excursions fr city tours are overpriced.. But don't know what to look for.. I might enjoy conk diving or seeing what is special about the island.

Went to St Kitts for the first time recently, we didn't really fancy any of the trips advertised so decided to do our own thing. As you get off the ship there are a lot of tourist type shops and a small local craft market it was also a very easy walk into the town itself. We then walked back to the dock area and took an open sided bus trip for $20 each it lasted for 2 and a half hours and he took us over the older part of the island and then to the other side where the luxury hotels are, we also visited an old rum plantation which used to employ a large number of slaves. It was a really good trip and fantastic value for money. Hope this is of some help

  5. Please can anyone tell me if they have managed to board without having a print out of their X Pass. My printer is being very temperamental and refusing to work so unable to print my X Pass a Celebrity staff member informed me that I must have a copy however I'm sure I read somewhere that as long as all other documents are okay it's not really a problem.

  6. Hi Need help in deciding between these 2 cruises. I am traveling with a 5 Year Old Boy so the kids activity is the most important decision criteria.

Carnival Vista - 6 Days Mediterranean Cruise v/s Allure of Seas 7 Days Mediterranean Cruise

Both the price is exactly the same and the dates are in March... We did had one cruise 3 years ago on Disney Dream.

Can't comment on the allure but we took my 4 year old Grandson on the Vista for a med cruise last year and he had a wonderful time in fact he still talks about it. There was so much for children to do he was never bored and the staff were amazing from the cabin steward who made him a different towel animal every night to the waiter in the diningroom who actually tore up the menu and made a jumping frog for him. Whichever one you chose I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.

  7. We are Celebrity cruisers but took our Grandchildren on the new Carnival Vista in the summer and were very pleasantly surprised. We had standard balcony cabins which were a good size and well appointed, although the buffet was large the layout was a bit all over the place and food choice a bit lacking, that said the cakes on offer were the best I have seen in any cruise ship. The entertainment was very good and a different choice all over the ship so there was something for everyone but luckily not the party type atmosphere I was expecting. For me the one big plus point Carnival had over Celebrity was at no time during our entire cruise were we pestered to purchase speciality restaurants, drinks packages, photos etc it was a refreshing change to be able to walk round the main areas and not be accosted.

  8. Hi,

We are flying from the uk to Miami for for a 14 day cruise around the Caribbean on Celebrity Eclipse in March 2018. We know that we have to leave the ship really early when we arrive back in Miami and our flight back to the U.K is really late that night ! We would really welcome suggestions & advice for an enjoyable day in Miami & advice about luggage storage etc. Thank you !

    Bill & Sue :)

we have done this a few times now and the Uk return flights are always late evening. As you are with Celebrity they usually give us a day room at the Sheraton Hotel Miami Airport this is an actual bedroom not just a shared room which means that not only can we leave our luggage but also use it to shower and get changed later on after a day spent by the hotel pool or doing whatever else we fancy and the hotel run a free shuttle to the airport when you are ready to leave. Worth enquiring as a much better way of passing the time.

  9. We were on the Eclipse in October and normally love the shows performed by the Celebrity cast however it the first time that we have ever left mid performance, was so disappointed in the Broadway as was expecting all the big hits from the shows but instead the majority of songs were completely unknown to us. On a positive note if Sue Denning is still the CD and does her one woman show do not miss it she was amazing.

  10. I am planning an Alaskan cruise for Early June. My husband wants a suite. The aft ones appear to have large balconies. The only 2 available on the Solstice for that date are 1403 (10) and 7307 (7). I'd like the higher deck, but in the pics it appears there is an obstruction. A very old thread mentions window washing equipment. Is anyone familiar with this suite? Will the basic ship structure change with the overhaul it is having this fall? So excited, thanks for any info.

Hi, we had an aft Sky Suite on the eclipse which should be the same layout, absolutely loved the large balcony although you are right about the window washing machine as we had originally booked deck 10 but changed cabins when we realised it would spoil our view. Deck 11 was sold out so ended up on deck 9 which was great. Enjoy your cruise.

  11. We boarded the ship on Halloween a few years ago and several people were already dressed up when checking in, it was great fun to see what people were wearing however the saddest sight I saw was an elderly gentleman dressed as a skeleton sitting all by himself at a large table in the dining room, he remained on his own for the entire meal unfortunately we were upstairs and he was down or we would have suggested he join us.

  12. We are not in Reflection till March next year but recently took our Grandchildren on the new Carnival Vista and the thing that struck us that there was no one harassing you to buy anything, no one accosted us for drinks packages or speciality dining even the photographers weren't at all pushy it made a refreshing change.

  13. For those of you asking about Deck 6 cabins we have just returned from our Vista cruise and had 6233 and 6229 which were interconnecting cabins. Standard size cabins although 6229 was slightly larger to accommodate 3 people

the balconies were fairly small and had 2 chairs plus a small table although once the steward unlocked the screen between the two it made a decent size. These were not the cabins that we had originally booked as Carnival changed them ( long story) and I was worried as it now showed we were more or less behind the arcade which was a 24 hour venue, however we didn't experience any noise from it at all, what I didn't appreciate was that the liquid lounge was turned into a night club after the shows had finished and the music seemed to throb through the pillows once you were in bed, this bothered me the first 2 nights but after that was only vaguely aware that it was happening although Sunday was lovely as no nightclub that night. Hope this helps.

  14. What is the easiest way to loook at the Leaning Tower when we dock in Livorno as it's the only thing my Daughter wants to see so don't want to go on an organised trip that takes you to other places. Would a cab be practical and if so any idea of approx cost.

  15. It will be our first time with Carnival on the Vista next month and we are really excited about it I dont let other people's negative views put me off as I would rather come to my own conclusions. We had a fabulous time on our last Celebrity cruise but when I read some of the bad comments people had put about it I had to check that they were actually on the same ship. Some people are never happy unless they are complaining about something, me I just love cruising and never let anyone else's moans and groans spoil things for me.

  16. I'm glad you have got sorted out - we have got adjoins cabins on deck 2 which is quite co vieient for the dining room! We are on the 9 July sailing - which one are you on ? You can go online and see the deck plans. I wish you and your family a great cruise.

Hi, we are on the 1st July sailing so we get off as you get on. We are now on deck 6 which seems fine but just pleased to have got it sorted.

  17. Thank you all for your help over our cabin change, TA finally managed to sort it out for us, it appears one of the balcony cabins we had originally been sold was no longer classed as large enough for a family of 3, so we now have 2 slightly larger cabins plus extra OBC for the inconvenience we have had.

  18. Were they handicapped accessable rooms? If so I heard they can bump you if you are not in need of them.

I hope you stay on them and get it figured out. Enjoy your cruise.

    Kathy

No just normal balcony cabins so really don't understand why they need to change us, have never had this happen before so am at a loss.

  19. Several months ago we booked 2 cabins side by side on the Vista sailing in July, one for both of us and one for our Daughter and 2 grandchildren one of which who is only 3. As her Husband is unable to come it was imperative that we were next door to make it easier to help with the youngest who can be a bit if a handful at times. We received an email from Carnival today stating that they had changed just our cabin to the the other end of the ship, contacted our TA to say this wasn't acceptable. Arrived home later to a message informing us they have put us together again but in doing so not only have they put us on a lower deck but have also given us a lower grade balcony cabin. It will be our very first time with Carnival and to say I'm not impressed is an understatement.
