  1. 52 days out to sail on the Epic. First cruise for me, second for my wife. Booked an inside cabin. Was upgraded to a balcony yesterday at $130/pp. Pretty certain I overbid, but I wanted the option of the balcony to relax on.

Pretty sure we both overbid, but it's hard to hit the sweet spot of bidding just enough and not a dollar more to get the room you want.

    Best regards,

    Bob

  2. I’m booked on Escape sailing out on the 20th (2 days). I’m still able to modify my bids, do you think that means I still have a chance? The waiting is driving me nuts! I’d love to know one way or another. I’m bidding on the haven rooms.

I'd agree that you still have a chance and good luck. If you want to increase your chances, add another $5 to your bid just for fun.

    Best regards,

    Bob

  3. It actually clearly states in more than 1 place that you retain your original promos...you don't get to pick the upgraded cabin and you are only charged for the first 2 pax in the cabin

Sorry but I just put in and rescinded a bid yesterday and it was clearly there...many times...that you keep the original promos

Did you read the info they sent you?

Just curious why you didn't say this earlier rather than referring to the FAQ's.

  4. Hello Ncl cruisers! New to NCL so I am not familiar with any polices etc. I just booked Ncl Epic for March on Wednesday. Today I get an bidding invite. I booked an inside guarantee with 1 free at sea. If I bid and win do I receive another free at sea option with the upgrade or still just keep the 1? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you just get to keep the one free at sea.

  5. Just booked A cruise on Tuesday received the upgrade notice today. We were given a complementary cruise for two inside cabin on the Getaway from the casino group so I put a bid in for Balcony of $255 per person this was in the good range. Is that a fair offer do you think ? If that bid is accepted can you then bid on a higher category ?

This is only our 4th cruise with NCL they did not have this program before. Our total cruises are 37 with other lines.

Thank you for your input !!

If Norwegian put it in the good range, i'd say that you have a pretty good chance. It is my understanding that if this bid is accepted that is as high as you can go. Additionally Norwegian as I understand it allows up to a 2 category upgrade so the most that you can bis for from an interior is a balcony.

  6. Paid $1550 Canadian for one-person in an inside cabin. Bid $300 Canadian total ($150x2) for upgrade to balcony. Was declined. Any tips on what to bid to win this?

Cruise is on the Excape in mid-January. I hear there’s lots of inventory.

Which date, the January 13th or 20th? I've bid twice for upgrades from interior. The first time I bid just for the ocean view. The second time, which is on the Panama Canal transit on 1/19/18, I bid $80 pp for the ocean view and $135 pp for the balcony. My bid was accepted both times for the ocean view upgrade. I called Norwegian and was told that since my bid for the ocean view was accepted, my bid for the balcony was declined.

I would only suggest that you raise your bid if your able. I see that for the 1/13 sailing, balconys are selling at $810 US and for the 1/20 sailing, balconys are selling at $830. The balconys are selling at roughly a 66% premium over interiors, so maybe a good starting point might be a little over 33% at $170 pp US, but what do I know, I bid too low.

  7. Got a single interior cabin for myself and didn't have to pay any supplement. 10 day cruise for < $400, and didn't know that I could negotiate so paid in full to make sure I got the cabin right at the front of Deck 4. Seems like it could be noisy/bumpy but not a lot of room to negotiate. You get what you pay for I guess.

Which room, which ship? We were in the front of the Star and loved our room.

  8. MY BID IS PROCESSING!!!!!!

I am on the 1/7 Pearl, had a Bb midshipish, deck 10, myself, partner, and 20 yo son. Watched extensively on here, and I really thank you all on here for your answers and advice. Anyhow, placed a bid in the “good” range, comparable with other bids in thread. I wanted the h4. There were always, from a year ago when i booked, 6/8 haven h4’s available. One less last week. So 5/8 unsold. I figured it would be this weekend from prior posts with that much left to sell, and 30 days out. This morning my bid changed to processing, no room number yet, but I’ll update!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  9. Hello,

Im looking to the Pullmantur canaries cruise on 27 december with the Horizon.

We are first timers. Is this worth the high price?

Normally these cruises are a lot cheaper. We would like to do a cruise in Europe in this period and there is not many choice,

We can also choose the Aida Prima but thats a lot expensiever.

Im dreaming on a cruise with a big RCL ship like harmony of the seas so im not sure off the Horizon aswell Pullmantur is the right choice for us.

The issue is the time you plan to cruise. The week after Christmas is expensive on cruise lines in general. If you can change your travel time to between Thanksgiving and Christmas or January, you would probably save money.

  10. And where am I going to come up with the $12K plus to convert my 135K plus points into Carnival Gift cards by Oct 31st ????

I'm in a similar spot and I'll buy some Carnival gift cards, but I've already paid off 3 of my future Carnival cruises. Maybe I'll buy a few more for on board expenses, but it looks like I'll lose most of my points.

  11. UPDATE - For those wanting to do e gift cards, they come immediately to your email address. It does not take a few days to be processed. My email was on the receipt, yet the e gift card was sent to my husband's email address! He then put it in his trash folder.

The first time I ordered a Verizon e gift card I was unaware that it was an e gift card and thought it would be mailed to me. I waited a couple of weeks then called. Someone politely explained how to get the card and now I do it fairly frequently. I prefer not to pay for shipping.

    Best regards,

    Bob

  12. Hi All,

We just booked the Sovereign for April 23, 2018 from Barcelona. It will be our first time on Pullmantur. We booked an interior room. I see that many people like the suites, but we cruise frequently and to keep it affordable, we usually book interior staterooms. Any helpful hints are truly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Bob and Caryn
