All I can say is NEVER AGAIN!! talk about a disorganized operation!!! They must have sold 150 tickets for one bus. When the bus came into the parking lot it was a mob scene. People rushing the bus pushing and shoving, like refugees escaping from a third world country. We went back to the sales booth ane asked for our money back. The guy said well if you wait 30 - 45 minutes there will be another bus. We didn't want a repeat of that fun experience so he did give us our money back after a little arguing.
The bus will drop you off in the parking lot. It's not a long walk to the visitor center, it will be PACKED!! Like Sardines in a can. I believe there is a small fee to inside the visitor center. The visitor center is open from 8am to 7:30pm. They have a Ranger talk outside every hour or so under the enclosure out front. There are numerous trails around the area. Last time we went out there alot of the trails were closed due bears being in the area.

We have sailed numerous times on princess and each time have been told that the only food venue on embarkation is the buffet. We will be on the Golden in 2 weeks. Does anyone have any idea if one of the main dining rooms is opens.
This one of the best kept secrets!! We absolutely detest eating at the buffet on embarkation day. In the last 5 cruises we've our embarkation lunch in a of the MDR. Last June on the Star it was in the Portofino Dining room. There might have been 5 or 6 poeple there.

The last time I was at Pier 91 I saw a man, his wife and 2 kids dragging their bags down the Pier towards the stairs to go up on to the Magnolia bridge to wait for the Bus. I thought to myself how cheap can you be to drag your family down the Pier a couple of hundred yards, claim 3 flights of stairs and wait for the bus on top of the bridge to save $85or whatever on a cab fare to the Airport. You’ve got to be a real “cheapster” to subject your family to something like that. Where I live we call that “Head Shaken Dumb”

You have a lot of options to get from the Sea-Tac Airport to Pier 91, Cab, Town car, or Shuttle Express. I’ve taken Shuttle Express a couple of times and it’s not to expensive, around $40 for the 2 of us. Takes about 35 minutes or so

Yes, I’ve seen people swimming on the ships in Alaska. Most of the ships the pool is covered and heated, they opened the roof a few times during the cruise. I’ve even saw people in the Hot tubs on Alaska cruises.

I always bring my own coffee mug. The coffee cups they have in the MDR are sissy cups. I like the coffee they have in the MDR and the buffet. I put cream and sugar in it anyway so it tastes pretty good. I sometimes will bring my own flavored coffee creamers with me.
