Yep, she’s coming home. My parents are on this one and text me yesterday to say the same thing as said above - ports closed, no other itinerary options so home they come!

Ahhhh poop, looks like I’m too late. Thanks very much for the info and links though! My parents cruise about 3-4 times a year so I’m sure I will use this service for another one of their cruises in future!
I think I’ll order some flowers to be delivered once they have returned home 😀

Hello all,
My parents sail on Aurora on Wednesday and get back the day after Mother's Day. I was wondering about using the P&O Gift Collection service to maybe get something put into their cabin for Mum on Mothers day, but I'm not sure what sort of gifts are available. Can anyone give me some kind of an idea? I'm guessing something along the lines of flowers, or maybe a try of fruit/canapes. Is it that sort of thing? Also, if anyone has an idea of prices, that would be really useful as well. I expect there to be a long wait on the phone line due to people amending bookings because of the current C-word situation. I just don't want to spend ages on hold to find that any gift is out of my price range!
Thank you 🙂

She arrived in Norfolk a few hours ago, which means in around 48 hours, I'll get my husband back 😍

What can you learn about the Freeport dock? 🧐🤔🤓
It's "cattle-trucked", as they say.....

They might have, just not publicly. I suspect it comes in the form of a letter and money.
Same here and I miss them.
I wonder if that poster might be bound for Bahamas in the next day or two. If he is safe travels to him and I hope his wife is doing well too.
Oh hey, what a lovely thing to say 😄 I'm still here too, just tend to be a 'lurker' these days!

Oh wow - that can't be easy for you ;) Hope the next few weeks go by quickly for you .
Do you have any specifics as to what they are working on ?
His line of work is very much behind-the-scenes, it’s not something passengers will ever notice a difference with :)
Four days to go! :D:D

My husband is working on this one. You can just about see to the left, the Moby Drea, which is where a lot of contractors are sleeping during the dry dock. He's been away 8 weeks now, hopefully only another 2 and he will be home. CANNOT wait!!

The teak decking is coming up....he sent me a video at 1am and the noise was err....very noisy!!

My husband joined the ship when she was in Acapulco and is sailing with her up to Victoria, then working on her dry dock.
I don't really know what they are going to do, his work is more behind the scenes electrician-kinda 'stuff'.
:):)

Husband has arrived at the dry-dock today :)

So you are saying the Victory is at Freeport?
Which dry dock was it at?
Grand Bahama shipyard in Freeport

Husband (DryDockDave) is working on this one :)
The first ship in an EPIC work schedule, 5 months away from home. Longest time before this has been about 8 or 9 weeks, so 5 months is going to be pretty horrific!

Hello all,
Parents are currently on the Arcadia which was in Ponta Delgada yesterday. They got in touch yesterday evening to say they were not sure exactly what had happened, but there had been some kind of accident/incident during a lifeboat drill. A lifeboat had fallen into the water with crew onboard. They had seen the damaged lifeboat and had heard the captain announce that five crew members had been injured, with four being taken care of in the ships medical facility and the fifth being taken to hospital on shore.
They were delayed until midnight as they were waiting for an independent surveyor to join the ship and begin an investigation.
My thoughts are with all the injured crew and hope they all make a full recovery!

Husband has started his journey home, he has Vancouver to Phoenix, Phoenix to New York, New York to London. Hopefully that's him finished for Christmas! :D

Husband is working on the dry dock. He spends a lot of time in the Bahamas doing dry docks and tends to get very hot as the air con is mostly kept off. Needless to say, on this one, he's getting cold as there's no heating!
-
Took the husband around 5 hours to get off the ship and he's now in immigration which is crazy busy. There's a risk he might not make his flight home :(
-
I didn't realize people who worked on ships in dry dock didn't live in the area. Wishing you a happy reunion.
They bring workers in from all over. He has travelled so much his passport is basically full! Spends a lot of time in Freeport, Singapore, Cadiz, San Francisco, Portland etc etc.

The ship is FULL of contractors who all need to disembark and go through immigration etc. There will also be a load of equipment and rubbish which will need to be offloaded as well.

I have two more 'sleeps' left until I go to collect my husband, AKA, "DryDockDave" from the airport.
He's spent the last 6 weeks working on the Elation dry dock and then the Conquest dry dock.
Sunday, he arrives home.
I'll admit, it's been tough at times, what with the hurricanes going on, some issues with our house which I had to sort, and also a ridiculously busy workload at work.
I absolutely cannot wait to have him back, so just sharing this with you all!
:D:D
Think of me at 8am Sunday morning UK time, I'll be the one literally 'pinging' around the arrivals hall! :o
(Apologies if I shouldn't post this here, but he's just done two Carnival dry docks, so I figured it was sortof kinda relevant! :o)
Aurora turned round?
in P&O Cruises ( UK )

P&O look to be one of the last to cancel to be honest. Princess, Costa, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Carnival, NCL etc etc have all said they are stopping cruises for the next 30-60 days. Scheduled dry-docks are also beginning to be cancelled as well.
