  1. Hi

We are booked in an Owner’s Suite so our deposit had to be non refundable.  This has been booked for a long time (multiple ship changes when prior cruises were cancelled due to Covid).

Final payment is coming up soon.   There is a chance we may need to cancel and I’m trying to understand the cancellation options.

    Originally I thought:

1 - Cancel before final payment with CWC and your deposit is given back as FCC to be used within the later of 1 year of issue or date of sailing

2 - Make final payment and if have to cancel up to 48 hours before with CWC receive full amount back as FCC to be used within the later of 1 year of issue or the date of sailing.  As a full suite, it’s a decent amount of money to tie up and possibly be stuck with a large FCC

    Question:

1 - If we pay final and were to cancel and ask not to cancel with CWC, but standard cancellation policies, would we get back a % in cash depending on the date?  Or is the only option FCC?

Odd Option we’re questioning if really possible:

1 - Someone mentioned you could pay in full, cancel with CWC, then go to resolutions to have your FCC turned back to cash.  Seems like this goes against the whole point of NRD and FCC.  If this is a possibility it would give us more time to determine if we can go or not.  It sounds too good to be true.  Has anyone heard of/done this?

    Thank you

Ask for one now...not too late.  Invaluable and time saving.  Had 3 over 10 years and last 2 promoted.  Hopefully my present one (2 years) will get past the 3 year mark.  ALWAYS answers my emails, but I can tell it's on her own time and later at night.  I think she's so busy all day with phone calls and callbacks, the emails are last to get to.  I don't need an answer right away and if I did, like a cabin change, I put it on hold, let her know, and she changes for me, sends a confirmation right away, and removes the hold. For 20% or 1/2 off 2nd guest, I emailed her, asked re qualification, she notified me via email and sent the confirmation with the reduced amount.   Makes both of our lives simpler.

Hi.  How do you put a cabin on hold?  We have a reservation and want to change cabins.  My TA has been on hold for hours and needs to drop the call soon for another obligation.

    thank you

  3. We really enjoyed Coastal Kitchen on Anthem

in my signature are linked reviews I wrote  with pictures (including menus and food) on several of the Anthem sailings where we dined mainly in Coastal Kitchen.  Feel free to take a look.

Some sailings in JS so just dinner but some in Grand suite with breakfast too

If you move the deposit to a sailing beyond 5/4/2022 you will be charged the $100 pp admin fee you agreed to for the NRD deposit but would still retain the book onboard OBC.   It probably is you best choice if you don't plan to sail until 2023.

Would that be an option?  I thought it could be moved one year from original sailing which brings us to Feb 2023.

If we could move it later even if we lose $200 of the deposit, that may be a better option,

    thank you

We will be getting an FCC from a NRD for a cruise we are about to cancel. Under the CWC we have to use it by April 2022 and sail within a year of the original sail date which is January 14/22. If we don’t use it by then we lose it. If we book another cruise and end up not taking that cruise the deposit is lost. They will not allow us to move it a second time.

    Thank you for the info

  6. Hi

I’m not sure how best to move forward with this…

Pre-pandemic we booked a cruise for early 2022 while onboard our last Celebrity cruise.  We booked a Royal Suite with a non refundable deposit.

We normally sail on Royal Caribbean and suites are non refundable there and we usually don’t cancel our trips.

Fast forward to now and we’re not comfortable sailing yet.  We’re both vaccinated but aren’t ready to get on a ship yet given some health concerns.

I am thinking of maybe booking a cruise for early 2023

    What is the best option?

1 - Move our deposit to the new sailing?  Are there restrictions like it has to be within a year of original sailing?  I’m assuming we would have to stay non refundable in this case?  But maybe our OBC for booking on board stays with the reservation?  Right now there are no Royal Suites available on the sailing we’re looking at so maybe our OBC is also reduced if we do a different type of suite, it’s also 1 day shorter than the original cruise.

2 - Just book the 2023 cruise.  Cancel the 2022 cruise and get FCC and apply it later?  Does this need to be within a year of original sailing?  Even though the 2022 cruise was booked before CWC existed I think it’s covered under that?  Or we would loose $200 of the $1800 deposit under normal cancellation policies and does that change the timing of using the FCC?

3 - Is there any benefit to booking the 2023 cruise refundable?  Wouldn’t moving the old deposit or applying the FCC automatically make it non-refundable?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi.

have eaten there many times always been more than happy.

Have been with a group of friends a few times and been seated at the large table.

can anyone tell me how many people can be seated at that table?

We are booked to go with family members next year to celebrate a special Birthday

and cannot remember how many that Table can accommodate.

    Hi.

We had 6 in the private room at the large table (oblong table).  You probably could have squeezed in 2 more but that would have been tight.  I have some pictures in my linked review when we were all there for dinner.

  8. We loved Murano on Silhouette.  We ate there most nights on our cruise.

I wrote a review/travelogue of our trip with pictures which I linked in my signature if you are interested.  I have a lot of food pictures since it is easier to remember to take a picture sitting down to eat than when running around.

    Definitely go to Murano

  9. Hi.

We sailed in Royal Suites on both Reflection and Silhouette.  Great cabins and we were completely spoiled

I don’t remember the couch being a sofa bed, it was more of a sectional.  I could be wrong as we weren’t looking to see if it opened to a bed.

Either way, the second bathroom is a half bath (toilet and sink) rather than a full bathroom.

I wasn’t sure if you were planning to share the RS with your parents (ex 4 adults) which I would definitely NOT recommend.  Or if you meant your parents would be in the RS the two of them but needed to sleep separately.

I have written reviews of both trips (linked in my signature) with many pictures of both cabins if you want to take a look.

Happy to answer any questions I can; I miss talking about cruises.

  10. Hi

We are booked on a Canada/New England cruise this fall

With the closed borders I don’t expect it to sail.

I found the attached picture on Royals website about options if booked on a Canada cruise.

One option lists refund.  We are booked in a suite so had to book non refundable. Should we be able to get our deposit refunded?  Not FCC?

    Thank you

Make it easier with one hand, make it harder to track with the other.

I had only one fcc, and had made a new deposit for april 2021, then when it was cancelled, before they would make it back to all one fcc. Now the part you used and any new money is one fcc, and the leftover fcc you didnt use is another fcc. I had 1 fcc, now I have 2.

I didn’t realize that they did it that way.  I assumed they would combine it all into one FCC.  I guess for their records to keep track of when they were issued it’s done that way, even though it’s harder for the guests.

    Hi Noreen,

We are also booked on the same sailing.

Our FP is also May 1. We plan on making the FP since we used FCC and the FP amount is really very nominal. Then we will wait it out for Royal to decide if they are suspending cruising, cancelling this 9 nighter completely or modifying the 9 night to a 7 night and what opotions are they offering in case of cancellation.

I am just getting so confused with the FCCs we have and where we have used which!

Hi.  It’s getting so confusing keeping track of all the cancellations and changes.  I started a spreadsheet to track mine as well as a paper backup.  Hopefully soon we’ll get to cruise.  I keep booking more cruises.

I’m glad to hear they are letting people now stack the FCC, that should make things easier.

    Found the reference

At this time, we have decided not to cancel any sailings scheduled to visit Canada. This includes cruises embarking/debarking from Canada ports, as well as those itineraries touching on Canadian ports of call. It’s our hope that your clients will maintain their existing reservations with us as we work with the government and CLIA on potential alternatives. While we explore options and determine our path forward, Final Payment due dates will be automatically extended to 45 days prior to departure for those sailings soon approaching this payment milestone.

Perfect - you are a star

    Thank you

The only final payment dates that were extended were the sailings that went to Alaska or canada New England

Yes you can use multiple FCC's now

Thank you for that information.  Since you mentioned the Canada/New England final payments being extended, we’re also booked end Sept on a 9 night Canada/New England.  I’m expecting that to be cancelled too, but  should I expect final payment for that one to be later than it shows on my original invoice (booked ages ago).

    Thank you

  15. Hi

Apologies in advance if I’m imagining this, but were the final payment dates changed to be closer to the cruise?

We are booked on Oasis end of July  2021 (the 9 night that doesn’t even show on the website anymore) and final payment was originally scheduled for May 1.  We booked this a long time ago.

I doubt it will sail.   We’re booked in a suite and I would prefer not to have FCC so would probably make final payment then get a refund once cancelled.

Second question, can FCC’s be stacked now?  Meaning use multiple FCC on one future sailing?  If that’s the case then maybe I shouldn’t worry about it.

    Thank you in advance

  16. Hi

We were on Silhouette Feb/March 2020 after it was updated.  I wrote a review/travelogue which is linked in my signature including pictures around the ship, menus where we ate, the daily planners, what we did on shore, etc.

    We had a great time

Any questions please ask, I miss talking about cruises.

    Enjoy

Thank you so much. I have just watched your U tube video.

When you opened the balcony door It took me back to the sound of cruising.

The suite looks amazing. My daughter who travels with me will live on that balcony.

Had cruise this July cancelled and can't do the staycation offerings as although I will have had both vaccines by June my daughter will be lucky to have had one.

We have another cruise in September but who knows what will happen there.

    Building the anticipation up now.

    Margaret

That’s why I enjoy writing these reviews.  I have been re-reading my own recently and missing cruising more and more.

Whenever that next cruise happens we will all appreciate it even more.
