  1. Windstar shows the capacity of the Star Pride on the website as 106 suites and 212 guests. We just returned from the Windsurf in the Caribbean, and met with several crew who will be joining Star Pride in May. We understand that Capt Alan from the Surf will be in command, and that Capt Peter Harris will be joining later in the year. We are excited about our voyage on May 11 aboard Star Pride for 10 days visiting Sicily and Malta. We originally were booked on the the first cruise from Barcelona, but changed because we wanted a longer cruise. Will write a review when we return!

  2. Thanks. We have not been on a cruise with him, but hear everyone likes him. I have called Windstar in the past, and they would not disclose the captain. I suppose in case they make last minute change. So if anyone hears who is on board in Jan, please let us know. Capt John Clark was one of our favorites, but he has retired.

  3. You can see that we love Windstar! We will be on the Surf Jan 18. All of the rooms are the same...adequate in size with the suites , as stated, 2 staterooms with a large opening between them and one side has a spacious sitting area, and of course a second bath. We have waited until boarding, and acquired a suite for $1000 extra. But you can't depend on that, so if you really want the suite, suggest you book it. Either way, Windstar is the way to go in the Caribbean. No large ships in these ports. You truly feel like you are on a private yacht. We take the Yachtsman Caribbean each year because we love the eastern Caribbean and for R&R! Enjoy!

  4. We are on the Jan 18 trip as well. We are staying at Divi (stayed there last year too) we have also stayed at Sonesta Great Bay. Both are close to the port, and are fine. we rent a car from Hertz at the airport and drop it the next day at the Cruise terminal? Hertz is the only car rental company that has a place at the portals far as I know. This is a great itinerary. We have done it many times. Enjoy!

  5. Does anyone know the status of the Star Pride inaugural cruise for alumni on May 5, 2014? We were originally booked on it, but changed our minds, mainly because it was only 6 days. We have instead booked the May 11 cruise....10 days circling Sicily. The inaugural cruise no longer appears on the list of itineraries for Star Pride! Is it cancelled or sold out??

  6. We have stayed in Suite 501, and loved it. It is the only cabin on the ship that has an outside entrance, which can create issues in inclement weather. One of the windows is one way glass, so no problem with someone peaking in. There is a private corridor to get there. It is very private, but unlike the suites on deck 3 has only one bathroom....but 501 has a jacuzzi tub like 502 and 503. We are sure you will enjoy it. Bon voyage!

  7. I have been to both on the same Seadream cruise. While THE BATHS is unusual and scenic, it is heavily touristed. Anegada is truly unique and off the beaten track. We had a great lobster lunch near the dock and visited a lovely beach. Just depends upon what you are in the mood for!

We have been to both. Both are lovely. The Baths tend to be somewhat crowded, but sort of a must see place. Went to Anegada in January on a high speed, jet powered boat...Stelth....exciting by itself. Anegada is interesting, and the excursion includes a tour of the island and a stop for refreshments and swimming at beaytiful Cow Wreak Bay.our tour of Anegada returned us to Prickly Pear Beach in time for the fabulous beach party. We will be on the same cruise 2 weeks after you....can't get enough of Windstar! Bon voyage!

  8. We will on board the Surf Jan 18, and can't wait. We find the laundry package to be very helpful....especially if you are traveling before or after the cruise....and it is nice to go home with clean clothes! We don't think the alcohol package is worth it, unless you are drinking morning to night! The drinks are reasonably priced.
