  1. I can find lots of info on the beverage package and how it works, but I can't find any information on the actual brands of liquor, beer, wine, etc. offered in the package.  I have a traveling companion who always drinks a Hpnotiq liqueur-based cocktail, so I am curious to see if that is something Princess stocks onboard.  Is there a list somewhere?  We'll be on the Majestic Princess in 2022 if that matters.

  2. Is there a way to find out with any reasonable certainty before a cruise who the Cruise Director will be and whether there will be a specific activity onboard? For example, we are hoping for a disco/ABBA/Love Boat-era dance party, but don't want to pack costumes along if one will not be held. This would be on a 10-day Caribbean on the Crown Princess in Nov 2018. Any info appreciated.

  3. I'm booked on a 20-day voyage out of Fort Lauderdale. The ship returns to Fort Lauderdale after 10 days but then returns to the Caribbean for an additional 10 days until the cruise ends. It's booked as 1 cruise rather than a B2B. We will have no change of cabin or travelers involved. Will we be required to pack up and disembark and then re-embark at the midpoint in Fort Lauderdale?

  4. I'll be traveling with my elderly Mom who is not in a wheelchair, but has limited mobility stamina. If you have visited the Anse Caffard Memorial in Martinique, I would appreciate any info on the amount of walking, steepness of terrain, etc.

  5. Thanks for letting me know about the Caribbean Princess issues. With 5 repeat ports on that itinerary and the known risk of missing other ports due to the propulsion issues, I'm going to rule that one out. I've sailed the Crown before and enjoyed her. According to what I've seen on the internet, the Crown will go through drydock in April 2018, well before my potential November B2B. So it's the Crown for me, I think. Thanks for the info!

  6. Looking for any advice from those with Caribbean experience on which of these B2B's you would choose:

A - The Caribbean Princess Oct 18 - Oct 28 plus Oct 28 - Nov 11. This one is 24 days for slightly less money than the other option and includes Trinidad, a place I'm curious about. The cons are that it repeats 5 ports when sailed as a B2B.

B - The Crown Princess Nov 17 - Nov 27 plus Nov 27 - Dec 7. This one is 20 days instead of 24 but is slightly more costly. However it only repeats 2 ports when sailed as a B2B and includes Grand Turk, another place I'm curious about.

I guess not being able to decide is a nice problem to have, but I would appreciate any advice.

  7. We love aft cabins and have booked Baja 756 on the Caribbean Princess. We've already been warned about possible soot or vent noise or odors on the balcony, but do not believe we will be bothered if those occur. I am curious to know whether the balcony for Baja 756 is covered, and whether the bed is located nearer the cabin door or nearer to the balcony. Is there a way to know? It seems the cabin schematics available on the Princess website are pretty generic for each cabin type without being specific to each cabin. Any info would be appreciated.

  8. You might try an online vendor called HydroChic for misses and plus size swimwear. Their swimwear may be overly "modest" for most women, but I'm a person who needs serious sun protection as well as flab coverage. I've been very happy with their swim tees and pedal pusher length swim shorts.

  9. To the original poster or anyone else who's tried Aquafari in Curacao: I'll be going with my 87-yr old Mom. She has some arthritis and mobility issues, but is not in a wheelchair. She would love to try this, but is concerned about whether there are stairs or ladder climbing involved to get on or off the underwater apparatus, or a lengthy walk down a pier or something. If you have been there and done it, I would appreciate any info about those factors so I can either reassure her or move on to another possibility. Thanks in advance!

  10. One of the incentives I received when booking was the Classic Beverage Package for Two. I was referred to the information available on Celebrity’s website under my reservation for an explanation of what that means. I’ve read that but am still confused. It says:

“Classic Beverage Package option includes beer up to $6 per serving, spirits, cocktails, and frozen drinks up to $8 per serving, wine by the glass up to $9 per serving, all soda selections, fresh squeezed and bottled juices, premium coffees, teas and non-premium bottled water, and server gratuities (amount based on gratuity guidelines). Classic Non-Alcoholic Beverage Package includes all soda selections, fresh squeezed and bottled juices, premium coffees, teas and non-premium bottled water and server gratuities (amount based on gratuity guidelines).

    My questions are:

    (1) Does receiving the Classic Beverage Package as a booking incentive truly mean there will be no cost to me for drinks included under the package for the duration of the cruise? No limited number of drinks?

    (2) Does the separate reference to “Classic Non-Alcohol Beverage Package” mean that I don’t have that? Or is it automatically part of my overall “Classic Beverage Package?”

    (3) It says it includes "server gratuities based on gratuity guidelines." Does that mean no automatic gratuities are charged on drinks included in the package? I realize I would always have the option to tip for good service, I just don’t understand whether they will also be automatically adding a gratuity on that they define differently than “a server gratuity based on gratuity guidelines.”

    (4) When ordering a drink on board, how does the server know you have the “Classic Beverage Package?”

    (5) Is it obvious to you as a passenger what drinks cost, or do you need to inquire first to know whether or not it’s going to be included under your beverage package?

I’m realizing these questions make it sound like all I plan to do is drink, but I just want to be sure I understand how the package works!
