  1. Corkage fee has rocketed to $42.00 plus gratuity. Took a bootle of our favorite wine for dinner on rooftop grill. Expecting $25.00 fee but like everything else it has increased. Just an FYI. Might not be a savings anymore to bring your own bottle onboard.

  2. If you are on a B2B can you bring on 4 bottles and perhaps 2 would be confiscated at boarding and then retrieved at the beginning of the next voyage? Also we walked right onboard with a bottle of Irish Whiskey purchased in St. Kitts no problem.

I think you're confusing the AARP E Gift Cards with actual Celebrity Cruise Line Gift Cards from the Cruise Line. They are NOT the same. The AARP cards are a unique item with their own T & C. This may have changed recently. Check the latest T & C to be sure.

Check with Celebrity gift card department for T/C.  I found that these third party gift certificate T/C are not current. See previous post with phone number to call. The third party resales are not keeping current on Celebrity's current T/C.

I did a lot of research on this because I thought it was a good thing and for some it may be. For me and because one of the regulations of the Aarp card is that you cannot be in a group booking, it will not work for me. Since my TA always puts me in a group and I get that group discount, I will be happy with that perk.

    smooth sailing

The rules for Gift Card redemption are set by Celebrity not AARP. Simply confirm usage by calling Celebrity Gift Card Department at 888-837.5676. The T/C on the resale cards are not always current.

  5. In order to redeem any Gift Cards you must give them to your Travel Agent who will then contact the Gift Card Department at Celebrity. I have been using these for months and it is a learning curve. As a general rule, if you book with a Travel Agent Celebrity will ot discuss your booking at all. I have always been referred back to my Agent. You can contact gift cards to confirm the balance on the cards. 888.837.5676

  6. Smaller ship with no loud Martini bars. Nice venues to listen to great live music and have a good drink where you can really relax. Retractable roof over pool. Nice speciality restaurants outside like lawn club grill. Ships along the size of Oceania and current M Class. Classic design from the glory days of Cruising.

  7. I use cardcash.com. You get 12% discount. Be aware however. Even though they have a 45 days guarantee I tried it once and after nearly waiting 30 days to get the refund it never came through. I continued to work with them and getting one excuse after another, so in the end I just decided to keep the card. I purchased these because Celebrity told me that they could be used for onboard purchases. Turned out that was not true. So I tried to get a refund from cardcash. If you cancel all fees are refunded to your credit card. There is no way for Celebrity to refund any amounts not used back on to the card. I had to cancel once and my Travel Insurance paid. We use these for every Cruise. BTW The policy on these cards stated on AARP and Cardcash are out of date. Contact Celebrity for current policy.

  8. You can thank the drink packages for most of this. Same problem with flying. People drinking before flights and during. This is wha you get when the desire for profits clouds your good judgement. I have been sailing Celebrity for 25 years and the behavior of passengers flying and sailing has certainly changed. Drink package needs to revisited.

  9. Call  either 800-437-3111 or 888-837-5676. Last number I believe is the Gift Card Dept. I spoke to Trevor Richards in gift cards yesterday. Celebrity will accept gift cards from third party providers like aarp or cardcash.com, however, only for the fare. No onboard purchases or deposit. I would also not recommend paying taxes and fees. These are returned to payment method in the case of cancelation.  I have been using them for several months now. Cardcash.com gives you a 45 day guarantee. But watch out, their customer service is very slow to return your money. I have been waiting now for almost four weeks for credit back to may credit card. I got bad info from Celebrity regarding onboard purchases. I was told before sailing they would accept them but once onboard they were denied. Always verify everything with Celebrity at least three times before you do anything.

Recently tried for onboard purchase for Celebrity. Cannot use them for obc. Fare only. Not taxes or fees or deposit. Cancel before final payment you may lose your money. If you have travel insurance cancel with a valid claim  it is be paid by the insurance. I have done this before, This is for third party providers such as aarp. Cards purchased from Celebrity with out a discount would be different policy. Any questions call gift card dept but tell them where you bought the cards. I was told by gift card dept that I could use them for odc but they were wrong. Just be careful.

BTW. The Company that I purchased them from just this month refunded my purchase in full when Celebrity refused to accept them for onboard purchases. They have a 45 day guarantee.

  12. I had to cancel a Cruise back in the fall. It was paid for gift cards from a third party provider. I filed an insurance claim and told the them it was paid for in gift cards. They paid the entire claim. A gift card is just like cash. You cannot use them for deposit and not recommended for taxes and fees. The problem is that once the card is used Celebrity has no way of loading the money back on the card if you have to cancel. I think Princess Gift card can be reloaded. Taxes and fees can be refunded back to your credit card so that amount should not be claimed on your travel insurance.

  13. Looking at booking B2B2B sailing this summer on the Reflection. We do not normally sail in Summer months during the vacation season. I am curious during the summer months on Celebrity the likely hood of having Families with Children on board. Celebrity not being known as a Family Cruise line I would just like get some veteran advice.

  14. Seriously considering Azamara Onward for a sailing at a great price. Curious as to how they are doing Financially, service, ship condition etc. It was only a a few months Azamara was getting negative review. I have sailed this R Class of ship before and love it. What do you say, Pul the trigger or not?

  15. Guest Services issued us a 300.00 FCC for Corporates mistake of telling us we could us these for onboard purchases. For fare purchase but not deposits. I also would not use them for taxes and fees. Taxes and fees are credited back to your credit card. They admitted it was their mistake and good for Celebrity. I will just use the card for a future voyage. Policy statement on these cards that are provided by AARP and not current and should be confirmed with Celebrity before purchase. Those outdated polices where past Celebrity policies and have not been updated.

  16. For the time being DO NOT purchase any gift cards for Celebrity until they can get their act together. Do not trust the policy statement. No where does it say third part gift cards cannot be used for onboard purchases. That seems to be the issue. I was told that yes for fare purchase they will be accepted but at this point I have reason not to trust them. We have been customers of Celebrity for 30 years. We are working on a solution, but I am not comfortable with their resolution. I told Guest Service that unless the policy statement is corrected they will continue to have this problem. Also do not trust the terms and conditions the gift card provider has. They are not correct either. A complete fiasco. Just about ruined our Cruise. I confirmed the acceptance  of these cards before sailing just be sure and it still is a mess.

  17. Latest news from GS onboard regarding gift card use for onboard purchase. Inspite of what I was told by the gift card support dept on shore, They now are saying you have to call them before sailing to load the gift card to your account. I just knew they would not handle this correctly. Now told it will be next week when the office is open. I think I am getting the run around.

  18. Currently on Beyond and attempted to use 500,00 gift card for onboard purchases. As I expected we had an issue, Guest services said they needed an expiration date, None of these cards I have used have an expiration, They never expire. The are just like cash. GS working on the problem. Will let you know outcome.

  19. You are correct. However  Celebrity Terms and Condition apply regardless of the source. Ignore the TC on AARP, They are not updated and are outdated. Refer only to Celebrity for redemption policy. Always call Celebrity for any questions before you purchase.
