  1. Put them in your other wallet while they're on the water attractions?

Ha! That's kind of what I figured... but he'll be 16 and will probably be roaming the ship with his cousins and not with me all the time. Will want him to have access to whatever drinks, etc that they want without having to track me down. I was just wondering if anyone else had any other means of carrying them.

  2. Ok... first time taking the kids along on a cruise. I always keep my roomkey in my "other wallet", but that's not going to work for the boy and for the 10 year old girl. ;) How do your kids keep track of theirs? I don't want them to have a lanyard around their necks or wrists on the waterslides.

  3. I booked a cruise a LONG time ago (February 2015) that sails in 3 months. I have prepaid the cruise and the service charge. When I booked, the package I selected offered the 3rd & 4th guest free and one other perk. I chose the UBP. I then received two adult packages and two soda packages for our kids. I've paid everything I can, and I was thinking I'd have to pay the extra 18% for the beverage packages. I called NCL today and she said that I when I booked this (a hundred years ago) the package included the 18%... and that I would not be billed for it on the cruise. She couldn't provide me anything that showed I wouldn't be billed for it upon arrival, so I'm just taking her word for it. Well, I'm kind of figuring she was wrong and am expecting to pay about $220, the gratuity on all 4 packages. Anyone else have any experience with this? Is charging 18% on a "free perk" fairly new? TIA! :)

  4. Our daughter turns 11 during our upcoming cruise on Escape. I see that they offer a Birthday Package - balloons, a cake, whatnot. Has anyone ordered this? What did you think of it - was it worth it? Do they just decorate your room sometime while you're out of it? It might be worth the $35 not to have to haul that stuff onboard myself! ;) TIA.

  5. Celebrity Summit as of November 2014

    CABIN #: 7001

    DECK #: 7

    CLASS: ?

AREA: Very front of the ship!

BED NEAR: Right hand side of room, facing the front of the ship with a view of the helipad/water

    QUIET?: Dear God, NO!

    BALCONY VIEW: n/a

    BALCONY SIZE: n/a

    WIND A PROBLEM?:n/a

    SOOT A PROBLEM?:n/a

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin is HUGE for an oceanview! Great layout, but I hesitate to book this again. Right next to this cabin is a crew -nly fire door. It slams SO LOUD it wakes you up. People are coming through it night and day. Our neighbors, one door farther away (7003) could hear it too. In fact, they mentioned it to an officer (not sure who or what type, but he had bars on his uniform) who apologized and said they would do what they could. They would try to change the tension on the door, etc. Was still loud and it was enough of an irritant that I may not book it again even though the room was AMAZING!

  6. What is the Liquid party? Inquiring minds want to know :P

They have a DJ poolside with a few performers around the raised pool deck. One was a guy twirling two light up bulbs on strings, one was an acrobat of sorts who sat in various positions in a ring about 4 feet off the ground. The others were a mermaid who sat poolside and lastly a girl in a leotard dancing poolside. We literally stayed 10 minutes... but we got there early. Maybe it picks up later on in the evening?

  7. OK - bear with me... it's Monday. I can't recall how I carried around (or if I did at all) my card (SeaPass on Celebrity?) that lets me charge things, etc. I must have carried it otherwise how would I have gotten back into my room? How do you women carry it? I really don't want a lanyard or something clipped to my pants! I maybe carried a small cross-body purse? Did I put it in my "other wallet"?

  8. You really haven't been on a cruise. Why do you think people would frown on you for bringing your kids??? Cruises are for everyone and anyone...

Book early, look for price drops, and learn everything you can about the cruise line you pick and your ports of call... Enjoy!!!

Actually, I've been on one cruise and have another in 2 months. And if you've ever read the boards for either cruise line, kids are not especially catered to. - and not appreciated by some. LOL Not much for them to do on those ships anyway. I'd want one with bells and whistles - more like Carnival or maybe Royal Caribbean.

  9. I've only been on one cruise line - Princess and have a cruise scheduled on Celebrity in a couple months. I am wondering if anyone has the same experience of going from a line like one of these two and then switching to Carnival. Now before you all start to throw things at me - I've only heard good things about Carnival from people who use them... but I'm concerned I'll be really disappointed after using two higher-end lines. Is this a valid concern? What are the big differences? Don't want to spend a couple thousand dollars and be disappointed in the experience. Thanks all!
