In the past, I've always wondered why my tablemates always asked our server, what would they suggest tonight. Now I know why, they know what's good.... so now that is my practice.
-
For some reason, no matter what sit down restaurant we went into, the food came out warm, not HOT. The only exception was the Windjammer or the paid restaurants. We sent a few back, but eventually gave up. Food was good, but warm....

We were instructed to contact ROYAL upon return . That's all that was said. I'm still waiting for my statement to show online, before I start the round of phone calls.
We rebooked on flight on United, only to find out it was a code share with AC. Talk about inflexibility and rude, we ended up going back to UNITED to see if they could reroute us. United saved the day for us.
---we were dropped off at Newark airport about 10am, for 540pm flight, tried to get on earlier, but AC agent at desk wouldn't even listen to our request. kept quoting policy. Luckily the UA agent was just beside him, and made faces for me to come over to her after....

It will be interesting to see what happens and how long it takes for everything to clear. We were told on board, at the C & A desk that no cruise credit to status will be given. No payment = no points.
- told at front desk, that all change fees will be reimbursed x 2, with no cap to the amount. (only offered after they revised the arrival time from 6am to 9pm)
- we paid for the first change fee, but when we tried a 2nd time, found out the airline we booked was sold out til 14th feb....(Cathay Pacific). We ended up having to rebook with another airline, but our credit card company will cover that charge. (flight interruption)
we are going to claim for following thru ROYAL...
-non refundable hotel we booked at end of cruise
-change fees to airlines
-excess baggage fees as Cathay Pacific does not charge for one checked in piece per person.
Royal did in fact removed all charges to the room that they promised. All long distance charges were removed. Mini bar- as we got lazy one night and hit it early. All beverage packages are pro-rated. Internet and their Royal IQ chat also refunded.
It was a trying time on board, and the front desk crew did the best they could, but it did seem like they were the last to know anything, and it was good to see that a lot of us gave them the slack they needed.

Wish we knew that they were covering hotels, because we had a heck of a time getting out or Newark on the 11th.
If they did indeed cover hotels, it wasn't made known to everyone. I found out that they were covering change fees with airlines, when I approached the front desk. Oddly there was no line up when I got there, after the announcement was made that we were arriving at 9pm.
we would have stayed in New York, if they were going to cover our hotels, as all flights out of Newark that day seemed to be oversold....

I found that the food was never hot enough for me and my dining companions.
The buffet was good, but seating was always always an issue. Even when we walked towards the back, there was still not enough seats. In fact, one day there was an announcement that if you were finished eating to please vacate tables.
despite all that happened on this cruise, we still enjoyed ourselves. The ship is beautiful and lots to do. In fact so much, that we weren't able to do everything we wanted. we should have tho, since it was basically 4 sea days that we had.

Was on the same cruise. After the day of the hurricane, everything returned to normal.
After speaking with the front desk manager/director, we were told following...
1/ all change fees to airlines are now covered by ROYAL. (this only came into fact after the arrival time was changed from 6am to 9pm) receipts to be submitted after the fact thru claims.
2/ we were allowed to use the cabin phone to make as many long distance calls as necessary. The charges were all removed before we left.
3/ beverage packages were all pro-rated.
4/ internet packages, and ROYALIQ chat was fully refunded.
5/ 50perc discount for future cruises, was based on how much was paid for the cruise we were on, upto max of $1800 (can't remember who told me this tho)
-also waived was the mini bar and movies....
-
I actually prefer that they don't make all the unnecessary announcements. Almost seemed like they were getting out of hand.

Despite the negative reviews, I'm actually looking forward to our cruise in FEB.
It's one of the reasons we skip the big tables at dinner, so that we don't have to listen as a captured audience. We like meeting new people too, and we do!... trivia games, art auctions......chef tables....
good review!

quick question...we are late eaters....without reservations, can we get in anywhere without reservations? Last cruise we would just walk into the main diningroom about 830 or so, and never had to wait. this was on the Navigator.
thanks!

We just came back this OCT and really enjoyed ourselves. Greece was clean and really picturesque. Loved Turkey even more!
Never felt nervous the entire time.....

I've always wanted to go on a Christmas cruise. Or even one close to that, as I want to see the decorations.. ha

We enjoy the dinner in the MDR. The set up makes it feel like date night.. :p
also, portion control is what we need when we go on a cruise.....

Hi Scarlett,
great ideal...I'm on board with this. Will download the app for my next cruise with Celebrity.

Completed online check in and my printer jammed. No worries, just got travel agent to print for me. We love her. :D

Hi all,
thanks for your replies. Yes I already have the 500 euro notes. Will attempt to exchange at the airport, if that fails, at the hotel, and if needed, a bank in ROME. The foreign currency place we used, only had 500 euro notes.
-
Hi , could anyone please advise if Guest services are able to break big bills?
Only currency we could get in Canada for our MED cruise, were 3x500 euros.
If not, we may have to try the airport, but I would like to try and avoid any surcharges...
Thanks all!

Anyone come across this?
I found a Pacific coastal cruise I was interested in, leaving on the 5th of April. Was about to put a deposit on it, til I was told it was non refundable. Now I didn't ask anything further beyond not booking it, but anyone able to tell me, if it was just for this specific cruise, or is this a new policy for Princess?
Thanks!

what about the Navigator?
anyone? Thx

Tried twice to make reservations for this, and was told both times that it's not an option to book this in advance.
I called the second time, thinking the first consultant was misinformed.
looks like I gotta get there early to book this onboard.
Going on the Navigator OCT 5/2014 :o

Don't know if this will work with you or not, but this was what we did.
For our cruise from NYC last year, we went in a day in advance and stayed at a Marriott in Times square. We asked at checkout if there was any way we could leave our bags with them on disembarkation day, since we had like 6 hours to kill. It was fine with them.
We just tipped the one returning our bags.....worked out great.

Thanks Clarea!...
That's what I was looking for, and was having a terrible time seaching for it on their website.
Looks pretty good. For $100 down, we get $100 OBC for next cruise as well as the $100 off the fare. (deposit for balcony)
-
Can someone elaborate this program for me please? Will be going on a cruise in May 2014, and again for Nov 2014.
I know with NCL, you pay $250 outright, and get $100 right away for OBC on the cruise you bought it on, so basically you're ahead by $100.
thanks!

What a shame, Kusadasi and Ephesus was one of the highlights of our cruise OCT 2015. Clean and beautiful
