We've taken cruises out of both Fort Lauderdale and Miami previously. Each time we flew into the airport closest to the port. Due to the extreme price difference we will be flying into Fort Lauderdale to cruise out of Miami. I've reviewed the board, but still would like advice. Our plan is to fly in the day prior to the cruise and arrive late afternoon/early evening. We won't be able to enjoy much of the city, but we have been there before. From looking at hotel rates for March, I'm thinking of reserving the Embassy Suites Ft Lauderdale 17th Street. The rate is a little higher than paid before, but I can use my reward points to pay for it. I also noticed they have a free airport shuttle, plus a Walgreens to pick up wine and soda for cruise. Transportation to port and port to Fort Lauderdale airport is where I need assistance. I'm thinking SAS will work for locations and times. Our plane leaves from Fort Lauderdale at 12:30 the day we get off the ship. We do self assist so always off early. Is there enough time to get to the airport and is SAS waiting for us when we get off the ship? Thoughts on this and has anyone done this before. TIA

Just returned and used Marysol Tours for our ATV experience. All emails were promptly answered and Marysol greeted us outside the gate when we arrived to the port. The ATV adventure lasted about 2 1/2 hours, which you do stop at a few locations. My entire family loved this excursion and would do this again through Marysol. The ATVs had only about 25 miles on them, which they told us we were the first to drive them. If we would like to see the country side and great views of the country while driving ATVs I highly recommend Marysol and this tour.

Unless they're booked like that because of Cheers restrictions.
I booked the rooms with one adult In each room because Carnival required it. Not sure how Cheers was brought up, but it wasn't to beat the system.

Still don't need to do that unless the children are not next to you or across from you
The cabins are 5 doors away from each other. One is a balcony and the other is an interior room. Maybe this is why?
When I book our next cabins I'll make sure we do it with adults in one cabin and my sons in the other cabin.
-
That's interesting. We always booked our kids in their own cabin across the hall. Even Carnival website shows that you don't need a parent and child, your kids ages, per cabin. Whoever told you this gave you misinformation.
Regarding your question, you can go to Guest Services and either have your S&S cards reprogrammed so both adults are in one cabin and both kids are in another and get a separate key only card for their cabin or just ask for key only cards for both cabins.
Have a great cruise. Magic is a wonderful ship.
The youngest son will turn 14 years old a week after the cruise. So since he is 13 years old on the cruise we had to put an adult name on both the rooms. I guess I should have said 13 when I posted this.

Our family is sailing next month on the Carnival Magic. Previously we have all stayed in one cabin, but this year we decided to have two cabins. Due to my DS ages, 17 and 14 years old, we had to put one adult and one son in each cabin. I know we need to stop at the desk on board to move individuals around for cabin assignments, but do they issue a new card or just provide another to access the cabin? I want to ensure that I have a cabin key to my sons cabin.

Do you need to reserve a time frame to use the flo rider? I noticed that Carnival has the flo rider as an excursion.

Just returned from our cruise on the Carnival Dream, which we found a men's wedding ring in our safe. I won't say the cabin number, but we were deck 1, ocean view, odd cabin number. The ring was turned into guest services. I hope the owner is found, as I'm sure they are looking for it.

Does Mr Sanchos still offer the Aquatic Park Band & Jet Ski package? We were there a couple of years ago and purchased this, but I don't see it available on their website now. If there isn't a package, does anyone know how much to rent a jet ski?

We found a neat little trick 2 weeks ago. Used the 2nd floor laundry (they only have them on decks 2, 7 & 10) and we learned if we opened the dryer before it was done and then restarted, the time started all over again too. A lady took her stuff out with time left and let someone else dry her clothes with what she had left. When the second lady hit start, it didn't start at 10 minutes, it started at 65 all over again. That was good for me to know because my clothes took over a cycle to dry.
Do you know where it is located on Deck 2?

Are jet ski's available to rent at Paradise Beach? If so, do you know the cost?

This is our second time to Belize, which the first time we did a cave tubing excursion through a local company. I had read multiple reviews on the company, but we ran into problems. The company put two groups from Carnival with another group from a different ship with different port times. This didn't seem like a big issue, but then we discovered that they were also zip lining. We were not. After issues with our guide while cave tubing our group decided that we wanted to go back to the ship due to the time. After convincing them to take us back our van broke down. Luckily a bus was coming by with a group that picked us up. We made it back with 30 minutes to spare.
Long story, but now we are going back to Belize and doing a ship excursion. I normally book excursions on my own, but not wanting to after the past experience. We are looking at the Carnival Sergeant's Cay Snorkel Adventure. We aren't worried about sitting on a beach, just want to snorkel the barrier reef. It seems to have good reviews on the Carnival website, but wanted to see if anyone else has did this excursion. If you have did you like it, how long did you snorkel for, how many individuals were in your group? Thank you.

Thank you for the review. My family and I will be in the Dream with the same ports in March. We've been to these ports before and have left out of New Orleans 3 times before. We've parked at Fulton Parking previously, but thinking of parking at the port this time. We also have a long drive that day and would like to be on the road early. How was the traffic getting in and out of port? Any recommendations would be terrific

We stayed in room 6101,Sunshine, during Spring Break. My 14 year old slept on this bed, which is more like a roll away. They don't put it away during the day. My son is 6 ft 125 pounds, and he said the bed was comfortable.

My family stayed in these 6101 and 6103 during our March Spring Break Cruise. We loved these cabins and would stay here again. You can't see the water from the room window, but you get sunlight. In the past, we've stayed in the ocean view rooms.

We sailed at the end of October so not "right back" but the machines took the sail and sign card then.
Are the washer and dryers are every floor? I looked at the ship plan, but can't seem to locate them on the 6th floor.

After looking looking at the Carnival Sunshine ship plan, I can't figure out if washer and dryers are available to do a few loads while on the ship. Does anyone know if they are available, and if so where on deck 6?
-
We will be sailing the on the Sunshine in March. If anyone has the Fun Times with the Western stops, could you please scan and attach to the posting? I've searched the site, but having no luck on finding them. Thank you

Getting on sunshine today 6101- I will report next Sunday!
I'm anxious to hear about this room, as I'll be in this room in March. Please post pictures.

Have you used the site stay123 dot com to find a stay and park hotel. I've found some good deals going through this site. The first time we sailed out of New Orleans, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Superdome for around $130, but the stay and park rate isn't available next time we sail. This next time we are at the Ramada Metairie for $119. It has a free shuttle to the French Quarter and port. It also has excellent reviews on Cruise Critic.
-
That's where we are staying for our cruise from New Orleans on Dec 1st. It is the Holiday Inn Tower West Bank in Gretna. Cost is $139 a night and includes parking for the week and free hot breakfast in the morning. It has very good reviews in Trip advisor too. It is about 1.5 miles from the cruise port.
Did you call the hotel directly to book the stay and park rate? I looked at their website, but couldn't find a stay and park rate.

I am concerned about this also, I will be in 6102 in Aug. Before the Sunshine renovation, that area may have been crew cabins but now the show area has become a dual purpose area and turns into a nightclub around 11 pm. Am interested in hearing from someone who has stayed in these 4j's
From looking at the ship's room locations, the Liquid Lounge isn't below the rooms. It is empty, so they still might be crew cabins.
Please continue to reply to the tread if you have stayed in this area of the ship.

Recently there has been many postings concerning noise from the Liquid Lounge traveling to the forward cabins on Deck 6 and Deck 7. Category 4J Rooms 6101 to 6106 are not directly above the Liquid Lounge, but wondering if you hear loud noises from it. If you have actually stayed in one of the cabins, please reply on any noise problems.
Since no one is replying to staying in rooms 6101 to 6106, I'm going to ask a different question. Who has stayed in the front of the ship on level 6? What room and have you or have you not heard noise from the Liquid Lounge?

Thank you for the advice. We have 4 individuals, 2 adults and 2 teenagers (15 and 18), so I don't think there will be enough space for us and the luggage.
