There is a charge for the dinner show in the Spiegel Tent.
There are no fees for the pools, waterslides, climbing course etc. That guy had no clue what he was talking about in that review!
Reservations are SUGGESTED for the comedy shows, the main theater shows etc, however there is NO CHARGE for these shows.
I think Bird needs to upgrade her glasses :D
Exactly what I told my wife when she showed me the review. More Fake News I guess! thanks

So,,, the Epic entertainment did change in October 2015 after her dry dock. Gone is the blue man group and legend in concert. And the Epic usually changes comedy groups between Med and the Caribbean.
Wouldn't expect changes to the water slides after they were refibered last year.
Can't speak to the rock wall. Things come and go based on usage. For example, long gone is the ice rink on the Epic which took tremendous labor daily with few to no users.
Thank you for the input. But I was asking about charges not changes :-)

DW came across a review from someone who was on the EPIC in July. He wrote that there were charges for the shows, comedians even the water slides and rock climbing wall. I told I didn't think the guy new what he was talking about. He did not said he did any of these things, so he may have made a false assumption. I figured I'd post here and see if there is anything to this report.

Good advice. Thank you!

Question. Seeing the bigger planes do not get into to Maho until after noon, what do you all think about taking a cab from the ship to the French side, spending a little time there and then grab a cab to Maho for a bit, then back to the ship. Our ship is in port from 8:00Am- 6:00 PM

I don't care what the brand is, the prices for water on board is highway robbery! Carnival has 12 packs of water for 3.99.

If you have your own snorkel gear do you still have to pay to snorkel through the underwater sculpture garden?

Such a nice surprise seeing so many responses so quickly! Thank you all

I see the age range in the teen club is 14-17. One of our boys is 18. Will he have a problem hanging out with his brother in Club O2??

Sounds like that's our place. Thanks "Tom".
When are you going??

Bikini Tiki Hut on Junkanoo Beach. Fifteen minute walk from the ship. Just walk out thru the terminal out to the street and turn RIGHT toward Senor Frogs and keep walking, follow the signs. When you get to the beach it is the first hut/bar on the beach.
Basically posted the same question as the OP a few years ago and found this place and have been going ever since. Ask for Byron, the owner, tell him Tom Hanks sent you and he'll take good care of you!

We are heading out of Valor this Saturday. Was also wondering about the bands. We have caught Music Asia a couple sailings and hoped we'd run into them on Valor. Do you recall what band was playing in the casino lounge?

How is NCL with bring water on board?? Carnival stopped letting people bring water on board, but they sell a 12 pack of 16 oz bottles for $2.99. I'm checking out the water prices on NCL and a 6pack is $27.08!!
We have brought a case of water on board with us on NCL before but I am not sure if they changed policy.
Thanks

Looks like we are setting up a private van through Islander Taxi Service. We have the van to ourselves (8 people) taking us where we want for $325. I think that's a good deal($40.63 pp)
Thank you for all the input

We enjoyed a tour on an earlier cruise with Stanley Coram, he does both private and mixed group tours and is a very nice gentleman. Stanley is (or at least was) affiliated with the Secret Harbour Resort.
There is also a taxi driver who is highly recommended by others.
You'll find Stanley's contact info and the taxi drivers website by using the search function on the St Thomas forum page using the name or the subject of private drivers. A private tour is so much nicer than the group tours IMHO.
A great tour would start with Skyline Drive and a stop at the overlook, then a stop at Mountaintop and Drake's Seat, and then on to the East End to visit the beautiful beaches of Secret Harbor, Sapphire, and finally Lindqvist. You could have a lunch and drinks at SH or Sapphire. Our choice for beach time would be Sapphire, we love the mahi mahi sandwich at the Banana Cabana beach grill. Or for a more secluded beach off the beaten path perhaps Hull Bay. We'd have Stanley drop us at Paradise Point before heading back to the ship. You dock at Havensight (WICO), and you can take the aerial tram down the hill (nice views) and it's a 10 minute walk to the dock.
Sounds great Thank you!

There are 8 of us heading to St Thomas. Anyone know of any private van tours that can take us around to the beaches?

Can anyone share any info on renting a dune buggy in Freeport.

Looking to do a beach day on either Freeport or Nassau. Rented a cabana last cruise on Little Stirrup Cay and really enjoyed it. Looking for suggestions for a beach on Freeport or Nassau we can rent a cabana.

check out this link to grandeur compasses from a recent review.
Thank you. I am looking for the 7 night to Bermuda. We have MY TIME Dining and we want to know what time the shows start to plan our dinners. It appears most nights the shows are 7:00 and 8:45 but it does seem to vary a little.

Looking for a current Daily Compass for a 7 night Bermuda cruise on Grandeur of the Seas. Want to find out the showtimes for each night in the theater.

This is my first time ever going on a cruise. My 6th year old son and his father is coming with me. My son's dad decided last minute we are going to a cruise. we just booked and it goes out on feb 15th. We read we should fly in the day before. So i booked a flight to fly in on feb 14th to FLL fort lauderdale. the cruise is in Miami though. I have no idea what hotel I'm supposed to book. I'm trying to save money given we are paying so much for this last minute flight and getting a passport last minute (going this Friday to another city just to get a passport).
Don't worry about the passport this late in the game. Use a birth certificate and drivers license. It has to be a gov issued birth cert ( not the one from the hospital with the little feet imprints). If you don't already have birth certs for you and your son, go down to the county building Office of Vital statistics or look up on line. Call the cruise line to verify this if it would make you feel more comfortable. Just rmember government issue and original copy with the stamp.

Rum Beer Hell and Turtles. Help
in Cayman Islands
Posted
Would like to spend our day in Grand Cayman going to the rum distillery, brewery, Hell and turtle farm. But have not found a tour that does all four. You either do Hell , Turtle farm and beach or brewery and distillery and beach.
Any ideas??
