  1. Looking at the spring 2019 epic TA and it has this distinctive voyages BS. It’s stopping me from booking. We had to cancel the fall 2018 TA and the price we had for that was much lower. These extra so called perks are mostly useless to us. Wish ncl would give the option of booking without it.

  2. To actually address your question [emoji849], the OV cabins on deck 3 are great. Easy access when returning from shore, great for grabbing water or waiting for your cabin mate at the passport bar. The cabin itself is the same as any balcony cabin you've been in, just minus the balcony, so same storage.

  3. :(

If Kendall Jackson is considered upscale, I'm in trouble... lol :o

That one is $11-12 by the glass I think and the limit is $13. So yeah, that's a better one in celebrity's eyes. [emoji23]

The good news is you can pay the difference for a better glass over the $13 limit. IF they have it. [emoji849] but that wasn't even an option at silk harvest. I'm sure they would have gotten one from another specialty if I'd insisted, but it wasn't worth the hassle.

  4. Oh and they have different lists in each specialty restaurant. The only one I had trouble with was silk harvest - only 3 reds by the glass, 2 cheap ones and the Kendall Jackson, which luckily they still had on the last night of the cruise. They usually run out of that one.

  5. I only chose from a list in the specialties and at the passport bar. We didn't really go to many other bars in the evening other than that and martini bar.

The first night we went to the MDR, I got a glass at passport and brought it in and just asked if they had it there to refill, which they did. The other two times in the MDR I just ordered the same one for simplicity because the sommelier just asked me what I wanted without presenting a list. It's a been a few cruises now since they've given me a list in the MDR without having to ask for it. Poor! (Pun? [emoji23])

  6. Hope you all enjoy your upcoming cruises as much as we enjoyed ours.

    One last bit:

    - there were new wines by the glass, yay! Never saw the menu in MDR though, they seem to want you to know what you want or just order something generic. But overall in most venues it was better. They still have the sugar filled Wente swill though. [emoji849][emoji23][emoji23]

  7. Was it hard to get a nice table for two in the MDR the 3 times you dined there? Do you have any recommendations for a location so we don't end up with one 8" from the next table? Did you ask for the same wait staff each time?

We didn't wait at all on this cruise, even at peak 7-7:30. The section they gave us was toward the back near the railing, starboard side (but we never got the railing). Tables there were well spaced, There are some other 2 tops near support beams, but some others are very close together.

  8. I'm accosting the live review for a minute.

Just came from the show "life".

Now I'm not a show person. I know that celebrity has revamped their shows in the last year or so, we figured we'd give it a try.

I was really pleasantly surprised. The songs were much more modern, with a broadway twist.

    Wiz Khalifa "see you again"

Pink "just give me a reason" duet, Beyoncé's "Halo", and a great duet by whom I'm sure were formers figure skaters to "The story of my life", as a few examples.

Of course there was still a fair bit of cheese [emoji23], the group dances are still not very good, but the quality of singing was much improved I thought. Some good aerialists too, though I think that's getting a bit old. [emoji51]

    Glad we went! [emoji106]

  9. We booked with Woodwind 3 years ago in Bonaire, and enjoyed it. This time they were sold out. We have lots of shipboard credit so took the "Double dip snorkel" on the Seacow, and it was even better. There is shade on the boat, easier to get in and out, excellent crew & equipment, went to 2 different snorkel spots with 45 minutes in the water at each.

It's rare that a ship excursion beats private but that sounds much better. File away in the next time category. [emoji106]

  10. Did you rent the chairs and palapa (hut thing) from Amsterdam Manir or from some vendor near the beach? That's a great price for all that

After we were settled for $20 per couple, we did see another couple ask and be told it would be $30. Different guy but same area. So I guess it's just whatever they feel like charging. [emoji23]

  11. Hi - So cab was cheap and easy to Royal Palm... Does Royal Palm have a cost or you go in and its a day resort - you buy food and drink, and rent chairs and umbrellas? Cost for 2 chairs and umbrella was $39 - that's it you don't need to buy anything else if you don't want to? Looks like a nice place with facilities. Thanks for your review!

Just to clarify, you pay a small fee to get in but then there was zero pressure to buy anything. We were only charged for the chairs and umbrella, so maybe they wave the entry fee if you rent a Chair/umbrella combo. Nice bathrooms, nice pool (though no free loungers around them), no hassle from any vendors or wait staff. Free cold water as well. Only thing that would have made it 100% perfect is if the chairs were more spread out. There's so much open beach, shame to be all cramped in one little spot.

  12. Ahem, I may have been a little glowy but I'm never drunk. [emoji12]

I got the red wine at the passport bar and just asked in the MDR if they had the same one and they did. No idea if it's on the MDR menu. I found it to be a nice pairing with the pork dish. Nice to find a wine by the glass on the package that isn't overly sugary [emoji106] (it's $13).

  13. We're sitting in the theatre waiting for the show to start. Again, very different crowd than we're used to on celebrity. 2 nights In a row and the theatre is rammed! We couldn't get a seat last night for Topper. Which was ok since we left after about a minute of it. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

  14. Yeah hopefully we run into each other. We are going to tuscan tonight at 6. Then will probably hit the martini bar for drink after... then bed. Lol

Tomorrow we will be on deck 14 in the deck chairs close to the mast bar.

Aah, that explains it - we drink first then eat. [emoji23]

    We're in Tuscan tomorrow night.

    Enjoy!

You look great! Love that colour. Can't believe we haven't bumped into you two yet, we must keep different cruise schedules. [emoji23]

Based on our 90 min or so in the martini bar last night, I'd estimate maybe 15% of ladies were very dressed up. The rest ranged from less dressy than I'd wear on a regular night [emoji23], to a nice effort but not formal. As for men, a few jackets, some with a tie but most not, and lots with no jackets. I would say that for anyone on upcoming cruises on Equinox, you can get away with whatever you want. Wear what makes you happy and live and let live or it'll drive you mad. [emoji12]
