  1. The answer is...yes! Asking nicely and explaining the situation worked 🙂
  2. Let me preface this by saying this isn't a big deal. If I have to keep my previous TA, I'll deal. That said, I think it was a bit of a miscommunication. When booking (this was 3 weeks ago when we were on board) I said "can I add my new TA later?". They said sure "sure!" And I think I wasn't clear enough about the fact this was not the same person on my previous booking (although in my mind I was). I think they interpreted it as "will this be transferred to my TA later." I since then connected with my TA and he was unable to add the booking, and I realized my previous one has had it assigned to her. I got some email back about paperwork that I dont entirely understand. I don't think they did anything ill-intended. I am just saying if it's possible, since I am well within my change period, to change it to my new TA vs this one I havent done anything with in forever, I'd like to. If not, no harm done.
  3. I booked a cruise directl on RCL at the NextCruise desk and they automatically transferred it to the TA I had used previously, but honestly wasn't super happy with. But I since found another TA who seems much better. Is there any way to transfer the booking, which she didn't really do any work on, to this TA instead?
  4. I think we just had a lousy cruise the time before this. RCL was still trying to figure out the post pandemic era, and a lot of things were not very good. I also think we a little burned out on Voyager class. Oasis was a gamechanger.
  5. Sorry to bump this, but I just wanted to circle back to my post. I am NOT done woth cruising, nor RCL. Last week we cruised on the Oasis of the Seas and we had a FABULOUS time. The ship was spectacular. Such a good time. Lock this thread. I'm back, excited, and booked on Quantum next year 🙂
  6. I've bid unsuccessfully in the past, never huge bids but usually bidding something like 1/3 of the way on the dial. This cruise we have in 10 days, I threw a very small bid (maybe 5 bucks over minimum) to get my kids out of a deck 3 interior right by the elevators and we got them successfully up unto a deck 9 park view interior (just got the email last night). Must have been a cancellation
  7. Yay! Our RoyalUp came through and they got bumped to a Neighborhood view cabin on 9 🙂 I bid the bare minimum so we are stunned and thrilled!
  8. Will the rooms have network TV though? my recollection is room TVs were very limited
  9. So no where on board to watch the game? Boo. Was hoping since basketball is a pretty global event they may show it.
  10. My Celtics are beginning the NBA Finals this week and it just so happens that if there is a game 7, it will be taking place while I am on the Oasis in the middle of the Mediterranean. At 2 am local time!!! Is there any way I will be able to watch this? I'm getting internet but worried the service will not be good enough to stream live video (and who knows if I even can from out of the US with rights and all). Would love if there was a place on the ship to watch it. Note - I dont even care about drinking or being served at that time, just having a place with working TVs
  11. i love this thread! Thank you for sharing! We are sailing Oasis in 2 months out of Barcelona, excited to see its trip there! Does the ship still feel in good shape? Major signs of wear? Our first ever Oasis class trip so very excited!
  12. The cruise appears to be sold out, so looks like we are staying here. Seems it will be fine. They sleep through almost anything.
  13. Yeah they will have earplugs. I think it will be fine, although may keep an eye on inventory in case something opens up
  14. thank you! this is so helpful. i think we will likely keep it. it seems there is a secondary hallway separating the two.
  15. Yeah I'm going to see if the agent can help. My son is somewhat prone to motion so low isnt necessarily the worst thing, but am concerned about the noise in that area.
  16. We just got assigned our last cabin for the June 23 sailing, and it looks like a pretty "meh" location. 3848. Looks like it's close to elevators, bathrooms, and main dining room traffic. Only upside I can see is that it looks like a cabin that won't get a ton of traffic after hours as there is nothing else there. Has anyone ever stayed here or near here who can out my mind at ease? It's for my sons, who are both 17-20 and can sleep through a train but still would rather it not be very very loud for them.
  17. thank you. i guess the mistake I was making was looking for dublin thanks!
  18. We are going to be on Oasis this summer and were thinking about booking again while on board at NextCruise. We really want to go to to Ireland at some point and I began researching cruises. RCI has a Dublin page (https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-to/dublin-ireland) but its basically empty. Did they used to sail to Dublin and don't any longer?
  19. But isn't that also the case at every single station in the windjammer, soda machines, etc? I just think it's weird how the ice cream has been singled out.
  20. I remember cruising in the early 2000s and the self serve machines were available for passengers to use themselves, basically like the buffet, coffee machines, soda machines, etc. However, for some reason, in recent years, they changed the model and now have a poor RCL staffer whose whole job is to fill ice cream cones for people. Maybe COVID related although like I said, so many other things that people can still do themselves I dont know if thats it. Anyway, can we actually self serve the soft serve again?
