First cruise since childhood and because of my lack of a preference for location, I decided to go with a guarantee balcony room on the carnival horizon. Just curious what everyone’s experiences are with this class of cabin? Have you had completely obstructed balconies? I was told by the booking agent “almost all of the views are great” but, he’s also paid to book cruises. Anyway, please share your experiences. Thank you!!

Good question. I’ve always wondered but never had the guts to pull the trigger.

I did as well for early 2022. Hopefully it won't be too windy, but I'm excited about the prospect of a larger balcony and maybe even a wider view of the horizon due to the shape.

I was thinking the wind might be an issue as well because it’s mostly forward facing. Also some chance we will be looking right onto other peoples balconies.

    I just received this email:

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED – VACCINE SURVEY

Please Act Promptly for Your Upcoming Cruise

    Dear Carnival Guest:

Your cruise is fast approaching, and we are excited to welcome you aboard for your vacation.  Given the unique circumstances related to the restart of guest operations, IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER THAT YOU FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND COMPLETE THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IN A TIMELY MANNER.

As you know, we have committed to operating your cruise under the CDC requirements for what is being referred to as fully vaccinated cruises.  Under this process we are able to provide a small number of exemptions for those who are not vaccinated.  Fully vaccinated means you received the final dose of your vaccine series at least 14 days before embarkation day.

In order to be in compliance with the CDC standard we are sailing under, we are asking you to complete this vaccination survey upon receipt of this email. Please log on to Carnival. com and go to the Cruise Manager “located in Manage My Booking” to complete the vaccine survey listed on your to-do list.  If you haven’t created an account, you will be required to do so before taking the survey.

The vaccination survey must be completed for each guest on your reservation.  In order to manage your sailing, we must receive your completed survey by 11:59 pm EDT on Tuesday, July 13.  If we do not receive a response for each member of your party, your reservation may be subject to cancellation and your cruise fare automatically refunded to your original form of payment.

Separately, we will be sending you a link to complete our Health Questionnaire 72 hours prior to sailing so please be on the lookout for this email.

Please continue to stay up to date by visiting our Have Fun. Be Safe. web page for the latest information on your sailing.

Remember to act promptly, as we will begin finalizing the guest manifest for your cruise immediately after the deadline closes on Tuesday, July 13 at 11:59 pm EDT.

Thank you for your prompt attention.

    Sincerely,

    Colleen Oliverio
Vice President, Guest Services Contact Centers

I just got it as well. But as of now it seems accessing the site is not possible.

Looking for some guidance here. My wife and I have a cruise booked for March 2022 however we found a cruise on the Magic at the end of this Sept that we are very interested in. Both my wife and I are vaccinated however our toddler obviously is not. He will be 3 by our planned cruise in Mar 2022 but will still be 2 in Sept. We asked our TA about getting an exemption and she told us according to get source at Carnival that 2 year olds "will not get exemptions, they have to be at least 3". Has anyone on here already applied for an exemption for a child under 3? I would like to hear of any experiences or what others in similar situations have been told. TIA

For any cruise in 2021 with children I would personally pass on.  not for any other reason then the guidelines for who will get exemptions and the small number given would be to me a bit stressful as you clearly are already experiencing.

I really wanted to try a Cove balcony, we had one reserved, however my wife was hesitant based on how low it was and being sorta enclosed in the balcony, maybe getting wet, etc.. So I went to the other extreme, I booked on deck 10!

So, how is deck 10 forward? To high? Ok? If you've stayed on both Cove and deck 10, which would you recommend? I'm just trying to determine if we made the right choice. We can still change though.

Oh, on Panorama. MR cruise (which we've done many, many times)!

Please help! And thanks in advance!

Deck 10 balcony is going to be awesome but you really should give the cove balcony a short hey are awesome. in some situations you might get a little mist on your balcony but this is an experience like none other I have had cruising. The sound of the water on that low deck is amazing. Next time give it a go.

We have a Nov 7th, 2021 cruise booked, tried to do part of our online check in today, & it tells me "not available until Oct 22, 2021"   What?? Seriously??   I remember reading something about scheduling boarding times & no more priority boarding for Diamond/ Plat, but I can't fill out my contact & credit card info either?  Yikes we are on a different cruise line until Oct 23.

I know most of us have not cruised for more than a year & things are changing daily, just curious about this.  Anyone else having trouble logging in & accessing their booking?  It has my bookings listed, but I cannot do anything with it.

Have there been other changes like carrying on wine & soda?

I'm set to sail on the 2nd of Aug and cant check in till the 19th of July. this seems to be (at least for now) the way check-in is going to go.

  7. As of now Carnival ships are going out 95% vaccinated. This is the reason they can and should loosen up on so of these protocols. Their concern for health and safety are exactly they reasons they are sailing with 95% vaccinated.

We usually leave with the self-assist Platinum group (no snarky remarks, please), but our flight after our July cruise doesn’t leave until after 1 pm. We don’t want to sit in the airport for hours. If we choose to stay on longer, are we allowed to self-assist any time later at our convenience? I don’t remember what the usual delivered letter says. We’d prefer to just take our own luggage.

    Thanks!

Platinum gives you priority but its not a requirement. You can leave when you see fit.

I have been Diamond for a lot of years now. That Tier is getting very crowded. On many cruises they have two different times for the party. I think Carnival should add another tier with added incentives. Maybe, Specialty Dining on every cruise not just the first one after reaching Diamond. Drinks included for two. Wash and PRESS included. What else should they include? Suggestion. Call it EBONY requiring 500 points, maybe higher. MSC calls theirs BLACK. Lots of perks from them. Discount percentages on cruises no matter what your price is another percentage off. That would be nice.

I think that's an outstanding Idea. Moreover I really love your idea for the tier name. Should  comes with a sick Black and platinum card.
