  1. Thank you Hank.

I had done a search on this board and didn't find a lot. But after I posted this I did a google search and found this question has come up a lot on the cruise line boards.

My husband doesn't have enough vacation time for us to do longer. And I agree, the more I read about Paris the more I want to see. My hopes are to revisit Paris at a later date with a land trip, tying in London. But I can't imagine being that close and not at least using our short time to see something I've read about

My daughters will be 10 next summer and they have the Eiffel Tower on their bucket lists, and I'd like to share crossing that off their lists with them.

A note of caution, when I was in Paris a # of yrs ago they only allowed 3 to a cab, needed 2 cabs for my 2 children, this was not the problem in Cannes.

  2. If you want a free coffee mug,,,,,,,,,,wait till you get on board to purchase the coffee card........the price is the same but we pre purchased........& did not get the mug......they said it was only when u purchase onboard........so we had to go turn in the prepaid one for a refund......then go purchase a new card to get the mug.....kinda silly if u ask me.

Also, you get unlimited brewed coffee & tea.............but save your last specialty coffee punch because they were taking them from passengers when they punched the last punch.......therefore eliminating them from getting the brewed coffee....again,,,made no sense......(this was on the Coral 15 day panama canal cruise)

I can't remember how much the specialty coffees were.......but yes, you are saving money by purchasing the card.

I also purchased the soda package for hubby.......he got the soda cup w/no problems. Our friends got the deluxe soda so they could have smoothies, etc.

as far as the internet minutes..........well, they run specials onboard which are just as good as the prepurchase ones...........even when you prepurchase.......you have to go to internet cafe to set it up............we had to go online...purchase again..........and then they had to credit our account..........again made no sense.

Seems lika a different policy for ea. ship, last yr got the mug free, this yr $5 more for mug on Ruby 1/15/12. $30 w/o, $35 with plus tip.

  3. A nice apology misterscrubs, thank you :). I am a European, DH is another sort of European, and we can see the differences between nations. The Italians want to eat as soon as the restaurant opens and have no concept of queuing, the Spanish want to eat as late as possible, and have no concept of queuing, the French are a little introspective and have no concept of queuing. Brits have the concept of waiting in line unless its a Ryanair flight when manners go out of the window :p. Seriously though I am a mild mannered middle aged European lady who would never ever push-in or be rude to anyone, although I have learned how to stand up for myself when needs be.

Different cultures have different ways about them. I have learnt to be tolerant and go with the flow when abroad.

That is really funny if it wasn`t so true.

  4. Been on the MSC Poesia last week Feb 11-18 2012, and what an experience that was. Yes I read all the posts and do agree to disagree. Case in point when you enter a buffet line, you do not shove your way through and not say excuse me in your language or enter the theater late and come into a seat and barge through, without saying something. I offered to get up and let someone into a seat and I could not move fast enough for the impatient and rude Europeans.

The staff are dimwits( No English whatsoever. Do they not leave from Ft Lauderdale, Florida USA. You ask them a simple question and they look at you like you have 3 heads. Or they just say NO or refer you to the reception desk. Do they wear blinders and just do not think? No manners either. ie..will not hold a door open for you or help you. Learn ENGLISH FOR STAFF. Manners are Manners and if you want American people to come on their cruise-ship, bend a little or leave from the Caribbean and not the USA.

Sorry!! Your comment is very rude, even if you had a bad experience you dor not generalize a whole continent.
