Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. ShareHolderBenefit@oceaniacruises.com and noreply@oceaniacruises.com
  2. Wife and I are sailing in January. I emailed my benefit request form and proof of share ownership on December 3rd, asking for an acknowledgement of receipt. No response, nada, nothing. Nothing on the Oceania website for my account. Sent a follow-up on December 16th. Radio silence, black hole. Nothing on the website. Sent yet another follow-up on December 20th, copying InvestorRelations@nclcorp.com, NCL shareholder benefit email, and my guess at the ship's concierge and purser emails. This morning (21st) received an email stating only "Benefit was added to your booking on December 6 as a SBC." Still nothing on the website or any evidence of a credit. My darling wife was somehow able to get Oceania on the phone. The person said that they would process the request and that the credit would be applied as a "gift". Wife managed to get them to send an email with a Guest Statement attachment, showing the correct gift amount. Subsequent to this, the website this afternoon shows a "COMPLIMENTARY SHIPBOARD CREDIT - NCLH Shareholder" under Credits. So the claim that the benefit was added on December 6th seems bogus. Overall, a frustrating experience, and not the first time. Surely this can be handled better? What are your thoughts and experiences?
  3. After a full day's effort. The remaining time is hopelessly optimistic.
  4. According to my IP address, the provider is SES, which is why I posted their map. I sent them a query on their website, but not holding my breath for a reply.
  5. Thanks for trying, but I attach the relevant map. There should be plenty of coverage for north-west Europe and the north Atlantic. SES_NetworkMap_RGB_211123_Rise_BlueVersion.pdf
  6. Yes, geostationary sats in use. Ukraine was not mentioned. If it helps with attaching Putin's heels to a gas station, I'll make the sacrifice!
  7. Currently on the transatlantic cruise, and the MedallionNet internet is essentially useless. The ship internet staff blame the satellite provider and claim it will be better once we get to Boston. They admit the service is problematic, but can do nothing about it. This is very frustrating for those who rely on the "Best internet at sea" to conduct any basic business - I am not talking about phone calls, streaming or downloads, just navigating common websites. I have sacrificed 20 minutes of my life to bring you this message...
