Attached are the lastest updates to the cabin reports. Please keep the reports coming and don't forget to include your ship name!
Email me if you see any mistakes or would like an Excel version.

Celebrity allows 2 bottles of wine per stateroom to be carried onboard. Luggage is scanned at departure. Even if your friend "gets away with" bringing unauthorized alcohol on board, she cannot bring it to public places, ie pool, bars, so it may be very awkward if you plan to drink socially. The drink prices are reasonable IMO, so no need to stress and try to sneak in your booze.

i will post the updated pdfs to this thread and also to a new thread on the Celebrity board. If you like, I can email you the excel version which is more up to date at this point.

I will be posting another update soon...

MargoK I too get headache/Migraine from red wine but am fine with just white. I used to be ok with the blush wines but not any more. So I enjoy my white wine. We too are undecided what to do.. We are social drinkers I guess you can say. So would it be wise to get the package. I too have said yes no yes no many times. We love a good cup of coffee ( not the kind in the buffet area) where I usually go to hot tea the coffee is so bad.
Good luck and I hope white wine can be in your future..
I really enjoyed the cappuccinos, coffee drinks with alcohol and herb teas at Cova Cafe and Cafe al Bacio. I'm looking forward to sampling several a day on our next cruise. The entertainment and variety of tasty treats (at no extra cost) can't be beat!!

Just returned from the western Mediterranean cruise September 2010. Our cabin was excellent.
Deck -
Cabin # -
Class –
Starboard or Port Side -
Bed near?(balcony or bath) –
Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) –
View - large window near waterline. You get a good feel for just how fast this ship moves!
Balcony size - no balcony, which saved me $800. Didn't bother me a bit, as I can sit out on the deck anywhere on the ship. It might have been nice to get an ocean breeze, but is that worth $800?
Was wind a problem? Nope.
If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Nope.
Any specific problems with this cabin? None. It was vey quiet. I liked being on the lowest deck, near guest services, dining room, elevator. Arriving back from shore you just walk up one deck and you're home.
Any other comments?
Please complete cabin #, ship, etc.

Thanks for your report. This thread is for all Solstice class ships, it was started when Solstice was the only ship in that class. The spreadsheet of cabin reports is called S class cabins and lists cabin numbers and ship name.

The X website says the premium package includes drinks up to $12.00. I hope this is another example of the website being out of date!!

Not sure that you can online. I know it wasn't possible for my Dec. Cruise until recently. There ia a toll free number you can
1-800-722-5941

I found these extensive bar menus on the Cruise Guys website, from Solstice in 2010.

Does anyone know if these prices are still accurate?

We are also cruising Aqua for the first time, I believe they put a large bottle of water and a pitcher of cold herbal tea in your room daily. I was also told the water is not premium water. Hope this helps, but I would also be interested in any feedback.
In AQ, we received 2 to 3 bottles of water daily in the mini fridge. We could also ask the room steward for more (if we wanted to take it onshore for instance). We always had more than enough as we prefer beverages with alcohol or caffeine ;)
It was not a name brand water but was just fine. We are not tea drinkers so I asked the steward not to bring the tea.

We are sailing on the Silhouette tomorrow, and as we have purchased the Premium Package I was looking for clarification on this new policy in term of only paying the difference for a more expensive drink.
Anyway, I emailed celebrity and got the following responses:-
I have 2 replies as I emailed both Celebrity UK and USA. Interesting to see both only mention the Premium Package.
Thanks for the update. Enjoy your Silhouette cruise and please report back how the package worked.
As much as I would like it to be the case, I do find it hard to believe that X would allow upgrades on the Classic package as it would discourage people from purchasing the Premium package.

Hi all,
We have just returned from a 7 night cruise on Celebrity Century. Prior to setting out we deliberated long and hard as to whether to take a drinks package. In the end we decided to opt for the Classic package and I am so glad we did. The Classic package more than covered our needs including freshly squeezed orange juice from the sunset bar in the morning, excellent smoothies frorm the Aqua Cafe and high quality teas (silk tea bags) and coffees from the Cova Cafe. There was no problem either in using the package in both the main dining room and Murano's and no problems with service from any of the bar attendants or bar waiters. The Classic package more than covered our requirements which ranged from Mojitos, cocktails, Heineken beer, Prosecco, and Celebrity Champagne. We were even allowed to order Martinis in the ice bar and pay a small $2.30 supplement per drink. For both of us the package cost £432 including service charge and we have calculated that at a conservative estimate our bar bill would have been double. Please bear in mind though that we are both in our thirties, male and enjoy a drink, but not in excess.
I would recommend the Classic package to future cruisers.
Wow, I hope this is true on Eclipse.I thought the up charge was only available if you had the premium package.

Starting to think this might be the way to go with the variety of drinks included. DH would get his money's woth in beers alone!! I'm assuming you can buy onboard and use OBC toward the pacckage?
-
Yes, that information is included in the S class cabin spreadsheet. Here's a link to the most recent update:

Thanks for the report and photos of Qsine. so looking forward to dining there in December. This is the first video I have seen of Qsine and it certainly promises to be a very unique experience. Thanks again for your wonderful reports and videos.
May I add my congratulations on your anniversary...no better place to celebrate than a Celebrity cruise!
-
Your video tour of your cabin was wonderful... it will be a very helpful video for those who have not been on the Eclipse or other S class ships... and it made me smile to remember our cruise on her last February! Thank you again for sharing your family, your journey and your thoughts and ideas with us.
I agree! Please post a link to this video along with your cabin report when you get home. It will be a great addition to the S class cabin spreadsheet for sure.

Hi Jo and Rob, wanted to say again how much I am enjoying your posts, photos and videos. Don't know how you are finding the time to do all this and clearly have a wonderful family holiday as well. Thanks again!
I noticed you had pics of the gym. Would you happen to know if gym is above cabin 1520? Have booked this cabin and have read conflicting reports of noise from gym

This is reassuring to know. We have cruised only once which was Celebrity Century and were considering a Carnaval cruise to the Mexican Riviera but were not quiet about going with Carnaval. We decided to book an 8 day with Summit in April. Thanks for your report it confirms our decision to stay with what we enjoyed.
Our first cruise was on Century too. We liked it enough to book again, on the Equinox in Aquaclass and were very impressed. I wasn't sure if Summit would be a letdown, especially after reading some of the negative comments here, but it was an even better experience. Not only is the ship well kept up and nicely laid out, the staff is wonderful!!! I have loads of pics and a photo review linked below.

Everyone has a different cruise experience! I have been sailing on Celebrity for over 10 years now. This was my first time on the Summit. Considering all of my cruises on Celebrity this cruise ranks on the bottom of my list. Now, it was a fantastic cruise, don’t get me wrong. It just didn’t stand up to my previous experience or my expectations of Celebrity.
I’ll post a full review later, but I just wanted to address a couple of things here that were asked in this thread.
We had Sky Suite 6145. The chair at the desk only had three legs. The fourth was bent all the way in. The love seat was a sleeper that was in horrible condition. When you sat on it you could feel the metal frame of the sleeper. The only other chair in the room was worn down, but usable. The bed in this cabin was the worst bed we had ever slept on. It kept separating and was hard as a rock. I spent the week with back spasms, and I don’t have a bad back.
The demographic on this cruise was very different from out previous cruises on Celebrity. We weren’t the young ones! There were lots of kids, lots of teenagers, and many young adults. From my perspective the families were wonderful. The young children and teenagers I encountered were very polite and well behaved.
My observations showed many of the twenty somethings being rude, disrespectful, and drunk. What I really didn’t like was having glass bottles in the T-Pool and whirlpools. That is just downright dangerous.
One thing that we experienced that we never experienced before were crank voicemails. We would get back to the cabin and have burping voicemails. We also had lots of cigarette butts wash up in the gutter on our veranda. We saw smoking above us on verandas and the smoking section was above us in the Waterfall Café. From now on we will be starboard side!
The food on this cruise was not as good as previous sailings. The room service menu is very limited. I’d recommend calling guest services and just asking for whatever you want and forget the menu. Most times they will get it for you.
The CD was okay. He did make announcements after the Captain spoke. I don’t recall other CDs doing that on my other sailings. Maybe it was because we were not port intensive. His jokes were okay. Like was previously mentioned, he did not tell the same old CD jokes…no extension cords here!
Bingo lovers have no fear! There was Bingo; it just wasn’t announced constantly.
Wow - I am shocked to hear that 6145 was in such poor condition. We enjoyed a wonderful week in this suite in December and it was in great condition, other than worn chairs and rust on the balcony which certainly didn't seriously impact our cruise. Bart was our butler too - great guy! We are planning to return to Summit next September to
try new AQ cabin.
-
Great report so far - love the tips. We are sailing on Eclipse in December and can't wait.
I'm from Suffolk - born and raised in Ipswich!

This thread is strictly for reporting on cabins/ships in which you have stayed. If you have a question about a cabin that is not included already in the spreadsheet, you should search the Celebrity board or ask a question there. Thanks!!

thanks for the info.could you tell me more about the pre-dinner wine and cheese option. I assume cheese is free? Do they have a good choice of wines in the package price ranges?
