Also the corkage fee is charged as you check in. No drinking it in the cabin without being charged corkage.
NO, the fee is charged when you bring your wine to dinner or to a bar. I always bring my own corkscrew, open it in the room, and bring it to dinner. Never been charged....

And the CCL stock is dropping already :p
Oh yea... time to stock up.... NO PUN LOL

I love this no smoking policy. To all those who say they will not cruise Carnival anymore, the non-smokers thank you. We can finally sit on our balcony and breathe in the fresh air and not worry about inhaling 2nd hand smoke. Thank you CARNIVAL! GREAT MOVE!!! Also, Carnival will gain a lot more cruisers.

Yes it happens; death that is! Life doesn't stop because you're on vacation or not. When it's your time, it's your time.
I did the Behind the Scenes tour a few yrs ago and we actually toured the morgue. It's across from the Jail.

Awww man. I thought Magic already had Guys and Blue Iguana and REd Frog.

My 1st cruise was a 7. My agent told me to start off with a 4 or 5, but no I took a 7. It was love at 1st embarkation. Since, I have taking a 5 and hated it. He told me that If I would have taking a 4 or 5 1st, that I would like them more than 7. So I say go for 7.

PATHETIC... Shame on you Carnival. Here we go with the nickel and diming.

I’ve seen various ways to make a reservation for the Chef’s Table (Carnival group events email, John Heald’s blog, and on board). In your opinion, what’s the best way to request a reservation for two on the Pride? We sail in 18 days. Also, I do not drink alcohol but I don’t want to be stuck with water if something else is available. Do they offer any other beverages? And lastly, there are quite a few items on the menu. Do you sample them all or do you have to select one or a few from the menu?
Usually the best way is to email the ships steakhouse you are sailing, but since you sail in 18 days, more than likely, the chef's table is probably already full. People book the chef's table months ahead. On my last cruise, I booked mine 10 months prior (we had a big group). At this point, the fastest way I would recommend would be to get with John Heald.
Because you don't drink, you can specify that when you book it, however method you choose. And yes, EVERYTHING on the menu, you will not only taste, but get a regular portion of. I think when I went, the Chef's table was 18 courses?!?!

What happens if you order one of these drinks and dont like it?
I'm not sure. I tried several and loved them all. I guess it may be hit or miss, but I'm sure if you ask the Mixologist, he/she would proudly make another one for you.
FYI: You can also mix and create your own Martini and get a $1 off. My fiance ordered a Dirty Martini and the Mixologist asked how dirty she wanted it, and she replied extra dirty. The Mixologist replied, "I'll make it NNNNNasty, just for you"!

Rats - the one summer we're not sailing on Glory....:(
Hi there, my friend! Glad to see you sailed on Conquest again. The "Spicy Chipotle Pineapple Martini" is one of the offerings they have on ships that don't have the Alchemy Bar as part of the martini sampler the wine bars offer. When we sailed on Glory (before Funship 2.0), the bar staff at the wine bar was very happy to make us a full-sized version. Really good, but it does make for some crazy dreams.:p
Hey there fellow cruise buddy! How are you? Hope all is well. Yes we sailed her again. 3rd times a charm I guess. We had a blast. We finally got the chance to do the Chef's Table and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. It is SOOO worth $75.
So my next cruise is booked for April 2014. It's just a 4 day, but it's my 15th Year class reunion so we have a ton of cabins booked. We will be on the Triumph.

You say you CAN order these drinks at the other bars. Is that a typo?
My Apologies. You can NOT order at other bars!

I have seen the alchemy bar but I have not stopped there. What makes it different ?

Specialty Martini's and drinks that you can only get at the Alchemy Bar. You can order these at the other bars on the ship and you can't order regular drinks or DOD's at the Alchemy Bar. This bar targets a different type of people, as so the piano lounge, or the cigar lounge. ALL drinks at the Alchemy Bar are $8.95.
Here are a few pics from my recent Cruise on the Conquest. Also, you can't really tell, but the menu lights up when it is opened.

I met Adri on my Liberty sailing last July. She is the best. She made me a new drink every night. If you enjoy a good martini or mixed fruit drink, be sure to stop by. My favorite one had blueberries in it. Come to think of it, she makes a great chocolate one too.
I will miss the Alchemy Bar on the Breeze.
Cheers!
I think you are referring to the Deal Closer when you mention the chocolate one. If so, I HIGHLY recommend it.

I loved the Alchemy Bar on my recent Conquest cruise. We went everyday and our Mixologist, NOT BARTENDER, her name was Tatiana. She was great and always made our drinks extra strong. My favorites were, "The Deal Closer", "Seduction", "Cucumber Sunrise", "An Apple a Day", and "Antioxidant".

3 lg suitcases, Oh my! How long do you cruise for?
LOL. OH WOW! I meant 1 lg suitcase, lol! Too funny
-
I overpacked on my 1st cruise too, but have to ask....how many people were on cruise with you ??? I pack less every time but still take too much.
This was luggage for 8 people in 4 Cabins... I alone, had 2 large suitcases, 2 rolled garmet bag, 1 carryon, and 1 carnival bag filled with souvenirs and junk. Since then I have been on 2 more, and will be on another in Jan, and I carry less and less as well. I'm down to 3 lg suitcase, 1 small carryon.

What about Shampoo, and soap? Do they provide that in the rooms?
Yes, soap and shampoo is provided in the showers in a canister that's attached to the wall. Its in liquid form and refilled everyday when the stewards service your cabins. I'm not picky on soap or shampoo, but some are and find that the shampoo is not all that. So you may want to bring your own.

I guess I just don't get the Clampett association with overpacking.
I'd think more of Lisa Douglas from Green Acres :)
The Clampetts; as in the Beverly Hillbillies. They "packed" up all their junk. So by us having all the luggage with extra "junk" we didn't use, nor needed, we overpacked...
-
I packed a can of Lysol spray in my checked luggage a few years back and it was removed by the airline.:(
Hmmm, wow; interesting. I ALWAYS pack this and never had it confiscated. Which size did you pack? I never get the half can size. I always get the little small size; looks about double/triple the size of a lipstick case. I find it on the travel/trial size aisle at Walmart.

Were they taking pictures because you had a lot or am I missing something?

Ummm, yea! I guess you didn't read the last line. In other words, DO NOT OVERPACK!

You may want to check out this thread as well:

But here is my list:
Other than the usual things to pack, i.e..clothes, shoes, toiletries... Here is a list I've compiled to pack and other pertinent things to do.
• Passport & ID
• Cruise documents and boarding pass
• Cash and Credit Card (very minimum is $100 per person per day)
• Health insurance card/prescription card
• Over the door shoe organizer (for toiletries, shoes, other stuff. The room has limited counter space)
• Gum, candy, snacks, etc (very expensive on the ship and at ports)
• Medicine (Tylenol, ginger pills for sea-sickness, stomach meds)
• Power strip (only 1 plug in the room)
• Small bottle Lysol or travel pack of Lysol/Clorox wipes (used to wipe/disinfect room/bathroom)
• Air freshener ( I use the trees that go in the car)
• Sun Screen
• Bottled water, soda, and 1 bottle of wine per person
• A small empty duffle bag to pack souvenirs and other stuff that was purchased
• A blank gift card or any blank card with magnetic strip. (used for the safe in the room)
• Hand sanitizer
• Sunglasses
• One dollar bills for extra tips (porters, room service, taxi drivers, etc)
• Chargers (cell phone, iPod, camera’s)
• Powdered drink packs (instant coffee, crystal light, etc)
• Wine opener if you bring the allowable 1 bottle of wine
• Locks for your suitcase(s)
• Call your credit card company to let them know you are traveling out of the country so they don’t deny charges
• Stop the mail and/or newspaper at your house (holdmail.usps.com)
• Call your cell phone provider and have them add international to make calls Internationally. Tell them you are going on a cruise.
• Carnivals Emergency phone number to give to others to call you on the ship. 1-877-225-7447.
Whatever you do, PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE we made on our 1st Cruise a few yrs ago. It was SO embarrassing that people were taking pictures of our luggage like we were the Clampetts. I remember hearing one lady saying, "My parents aren't gonna believe this"!

Of all the reviews I've read, your's by FAR has been the most enjoyable. I am loving it thus far, & can't wait for the rest. BTW, Congrats on the nuptials!

I just called to book the park and cruise rate but ran into a problem. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) and while the rate is nice, it only includes transportation for 2 people per room. We would need to pay $20 each for transportation for our kids. Not such a good deal for us, but if you are a couple it would be a great deal. I called the hotel directly to make sure the info the reservation line gave me was correct. Not sure if this is a new policy or not.
I called as well and was given the same response from the hotel. They said the rate would be $169 per room (2 people), plus $20 each addt person. It's 4 of us, so that would be $209 for us. NO THANKS! We are driving from the Houston area so we are driving the Baton Rouge the night prior, staying at Double Tree or Embassy Suites, (made reservations at both), then waking up Sunday morning and take the hour drive to New Orleans and parking at the port.
We didn't have that problem. We called the hotel directly and they gave us vochures for everyone in our party free of charge. I would give them a call!I called the hotel a lil over a week ago and was given the same answer as ABQmom.
