Great review! We were on the Equinox starting in Rome last May. One question: did you find the bow of the ship caused anyone to be sea sick? The only time I have been sick was when we were in a forward cabin out of NYC to Canada. Since then, I have always booked mid or aft, but many AQ cabins mid ship are under the pool.

Two years ago, we were planning a Med trip that would go to Istanbul as we had already been to most of the other places in that area. While researching, the Ruby Princess canceled their stop at Istanbul BEFORE the shipped even sailed but AFTER final payment. For that reason, we booked our first Celebrity cruise this past May to stop in Istanbul. We loved Celebrity! This was after 4 Princess cruises that we liked also. We could not take the chance of missing Istanbul for no reason (could not have been weather or mechanical Before sailing!)

Lynxcat, could you tell me the cost of the taxi to Amalfi etc? We have already been to Pompeii, but would like to see the Amalfi coast, Thanks.

Thanks for following up with Delta and letting us know. We have the same flights coming up from JFK to Rome on Delta, but really Alitalia. Hope they get it fixed!

Thank you for a great review. We are going on the Equinox in April to some of the same ports. So sorry about the Delta situation. We have had many problems with them too, but last week I booked our air with them out of Buffalo to Jfk to Rome. Now I am worried because we are on Alitalia to Rome. We paid extra for the larger seats too. I will call again on Monday and tell them I expect to have seats!Would you mind sharing the cost of ROMECABS to and from the port? Thanks!

Is there a free shuttle or train from Glasgow/Greenock into Edinburgh? The ship's on your own shuttle into Edin. is $69.

Thanks Terry. We don't want to rent a car, one reason we take cruises is to let DH totally relax! I think I'll just sign up for another excursion and maybe check the wait list first thing when we board.

Our ship's tour on the railroad was waitlisted the first day and we missed it. Is there a way to get from the port at Holyhead to the RR on our own? Thanks

Tip at the end if he/she goes beyond what you have paid for.We had one butler who did nothing for us except bring in coffee and yogurt in the am. We tipped him as we would have for anyone bringing room service. Some people have the butler serve them many meals from different restaurants or organize parties etc.

We also loved the string quartet on the Baltic Emerald cruise last July. We also gave them a great write up and also suggested they be allowed to play somewhere other than the bar where people would sit and talk loudly and laugh while they were playing. On our NCL E. Med trip this past May, the classical group was given one night in the theatre to perform. It was great even though they weren't as good as the Princess group, we could relax and enjoy it in a better venue than a bar.

I have to agree with you re:the Lido. The only times in 6 cruises we have gotten sick was when we ate in the Lido the last night of a 10 day because we got back from an excursion late and once in the middle of our last cruise when we ate there because DH didn't like the MDR menu. We decided on our next cruise to take our anti-bacterial gel and use it after we dished up our food before we touched our utensils. Maybe that will help if we end up at the lido again.

WE also enjoyed a string quartet on Emerald last July in the Baltic. (not sure the name). I wrote them a glowing review on the card we filled out at the end of the cruise so that Princess would keep that type of entertainment on board.

We were there last week and used Eros for the wall, they did not want dollars. It was a wonderful day.

If we have only carryons, is it possible to pull them right into the terminal?

Stockholm Ho Ho boat. Get off ship, turn left and buy ticket for boat. They took dollars and eros. Get off at Vasa and line will be short if you got there early. Line that took credit cards was very short. We used our card to pay admission.Get back on Ho Ho and head to palace and you'll get there in time for changing of the guard. Then take Ho Ho back to the ship, stopping where you want to on the way.
