We are booked in a Yacht Club suite in December. When we arrive at the terminal, will there be a special place for the taxi to drop us off--and where, ostensibly, a butler will meet us to escort us on board? This will be our first time on MSC and want to know what to expect at embarkation....

Figured that one out. ;-) Just wanting to know if anyone has experienced a holiday sailing....

DH and I are new to MSC and planning to go on the Divina over Christmas in a Yacht Club Suite. We are a little worried that there may be a lot of unruly kids throughout the Yacht Club public areas. Has anyone had experience during a big holiday with "kid overflow" in the Yacht Club?
We have a little PTSD from past Christmas cruises on the more mainstream U.S. lines like RCI, etc. where the parents let their kids run wild, and we do not want a repeat...

YIKES! I hope your memory serves you incorrectly...that translates to $150 for one day of Internet!

Is there an Internet charge for guests in the Yacht Club, and if so, how much? Thanks ahead for answering.

We will be doing a transatlantic. Does that change things and/or your responses for suite/no suite for our adult kids?

What is a Posh Pass, how much does it cost, and what is it good for...and how long?

You ALL are wonderful. Thanks. And I do agree that those who pay for the perks should be the only ones using them. You all have given me ideas to think about. Again, thanks. :)

Thanks, tne1106! :D

So they cannot eat with us in the Haven restaurant or sit out by the Haven pool with us? Asking because I am wondering if it is too problematic for them to be "downstairs" and if I should encourage them to upgrade to a suite. (This is a pricey question!)

We will be in a Haven Suite on the Epic but our adult children will be in a regular room a few decks down. Can they get to us without key cards, can they use the Haven facilities with us--dining, lounge, Haven suite sun deck, etc.? Can the concierge book venues for 4 rather than 2? Thanks for any information.

but nonetheless my heart tells me to jump on Windstar because they have been a line I have wanted to try for a long time, and things seem to have never been better for them financially speaking.
Alright, thats a lot of waffling on my part, half thinking to myself, as well as asking your kind selves... should I go with my head and stick to the best, Seabourn, should I gamble with Silversea or go where the heart goes with Windstar?
Thanks !
Sounds like your heart--and bank account--are telling you something, bahrain_not_dubai. LISTEN TO THEM BOTH!
As someone who has been on both Seabourn and Windstar, I found them two different "animals." Choose Seabourn for the luxury, free booze, and pampering. Choose Windstar for the experience of actually sailing with others who are more interested in casual attire, small, hidden ports of call, and an active outdoor lifestyle.
DH and I far prefer Windstar--we have two upcoming cruises booked with them this year, and have taken 3 before. But that is us. We like the more informal, friendly lifestyle.

Many posters say that cabins at the back are prone to engine noise...I.e. 104/204. Also, your cabin looks smaller due to the curvature of the ship. Comments?

Thinking of "downsizing" from Windsurf to Windstar for an upcoming cruise. Any recommendations on where our cabin should be or not be on Deck 2? Back, middle, front, port, starboard, near stairs, near gym, near/not near fire wall (do they really close when coming in/going out of ports and if so, are they noisy?)? Thanks for any help asap as we will book tomorrow!

MRSTROD--you are an angel and a half! Thank you for such a wonderfully detailed response. Now, I am really excited! First time MSC...and we are booked into the Sophia Loren Suite! Can't wait.
