  1. Thank you, Mrs. Tiki. Appreciate the key points and advice. I am wondering if things have gotten any better and more organized since Nov and the first few sailings in/out of Antigua. Has anyone been through this more recently? Thanks in advance!

  2. Excited to be boarding my happy place once again next week. I was wondering if anyone has experienced embarking SeaDream and getting to the pier in St. John’s. I’ve never been here and would appreciate any tips and/or recent experiences. Thanks!!

  3. Wow, Jim and Lois! So thrilled for you to be doing this. I would absolutely love to be “floating” for four months around the globe. I’ll be lurking around and following you. For now I’m looking forward to another Caribbean SD in a couple weeks. (With a low maintenance roommmate this time!) Happy New Year to you both and Enjoy your wonderful trip!!

  4. Hi Ohmiss. Good to hear from you. Yes we are ok. Another day older and deeper in debt....:cool:. Going on SeaDream any time soon?

:cool:Most likely, Jim!! Glad you're doing fine! How about you? SeaDreaming anytime soon???

  5. Good job Robin! Now that wasn't so hard was it? We hope to sail with you again some day just leave Hi Mai Girlfriend or get separate cabins. Thanks for the pictures you sent of Shoal Bay East.

    All the best,

    J & L

Heehee! Thanks, Jim. You and Lois are the best and it was such a pleasure meeting you! No worries about the GF, she doesn't quite get the SD experience. I look forward to seeing you again one day!

    Cheers to you both!

  6. Okay, Jim...a little peer pressure and here I go. As all of you know, I absolutely LOVE SD and have never really had a bad experience with the crew or the yacht, etc. Berry (my DH) was always a great traveling partner, we always had a blast. Sadly Berry passed away a few months ago. I booked this SD because it has always been my "Happy Place." It did not disappoint. My advice is...do not take a friend that you barely know just because she "wants to go and needs a vacation!!" NO! I spent most of my trip waiting for her to get ready and then spending money on drinks and lunches on all the islands because she didn't get that the YACHT is my destination and the food and drinks are better and Free!!

Anyway, I digress....heehee! The crew and pax were wonderful to me. I was alone most nights for dinner and always was invited to a table. Jeff, activities director, was so great, inviting me three nights to sit with him. I loved the Zoom guys, it wasn't long before they found out about my hubby. One of them said whenever I needed a hug to come find him!! Lovely guys! I always love going up for breakfast and seeing the smiling faces of the waiters. Jesse, O'Neil, Jerry, Louis, and of course, Jamie and Nikola. Breakfast is one of my favorite parts of the day is sitting and reflecting while looking out on the beauty of the Caribbean. Peaceful.

Of course, TOY bar is a favorite place to enjoy the day. Cameron, Severin, and Christian always take great care of everyone. Cameron offered to loan me his sneakers for a hike. (I didn't bring mine on purpose because I did not want to hike) But my GF wanted to go so I did. I ended up wearing Fruhd's (concierge) shoes because they fit. See...great crew to even offer their shoes to me!!

The Splash was fabulous this time. The last two for me were pretty much rained out. The food, the drinks, the location (my favorite), FRANK!! Awesome stuff! Of course, had to go to Soggy Dollar and photo bomb the webcam. Froze it on my phone. JJ the bartender at Soggy Dollar grabbed me for a picture behind the bar. Back to yacht at 3:00 to pack and I had a lovely last dinner with Jeff again. His laugh makes me laugh! All in all...I had a wonderful time and again cannot wait to sail again! I think I'll be a bachelorette on board for now on and sail by myself! The crew makes me feel so comfortable and I feel no stigma in being alone on SeaDream! :)

  7. Delighted you had a great time and didn't get into any more scrapes !!

Can't wait to hear ALLLLLLLLLL !!!!

    The world awaits.

I concur with Jim. The best week! The pax were great, the crew even better! I will defer to Jim, because he is much better than me in reviewing! I loved meeting Lois and Jim...good, lovely people!! Great trip! Looking forward, as always, to being aboard again.

  8. Received the documents today. Not quite the document dance of old what with the new e tickets but still means we are short timers to SD II December 3-10. Seems ages since we were aboard last January. As usual will recycle one of the old leather/canvas binders for our new documents. Looking forward to meeting any and all on this Caribbean jaunt. Reported that 18 cabins booked for Zoom Vacations. No kiddies last I checked.

Thanks, Jim. Got my e-docs today too. Thanks for the info too... No wonder I couldn't get my favorite Deck 3 early on....See ya at the TOYB!!

  9. So buffet breakfast with the rest of humanity.

It went quite well; met up with lady stewardesses........it took them 1 hour to get into their room !

    That's normal they say !

HH waited just 25 minutes, so being "a pain" works !

    Hello Ho Hum

I'm out of the lurk o sphere because you gave me a chuckle and a fun memory! I used to be one of those "stewardesses" flying into Gatwick and staying at the Gatwick Hilton. We often had to wait over an hour for rooms. We had an old Captain that would start undressing in the lobby and lay down on the lobby sofa in his underwear! Needless to say, they found him a room right away! Bon Voyage!! I was on the inaugural San Juan - London SDI crossing in 2011 and I so agree, crossings are the BEST! I SO want to do it again, and I will. Looking forward to it! Enjoy....now back to the lurk o sphere...... :))

  10. I guess it was a fluke last time because the leg from the Azores was smooth sailing and hot! We skirted around the Bay of Biscay. I like to choose my stateroom, so when I booked 2 weeks ago Deck 2 was full (but still offering GTY), only 317 forward available on Deck 3. Didn't ask about Deck 4. I am looking forward to this, some people we met last time want to meet us in London. You do meet great people on SD, FT ;) One day we'll sail together!

  11. I can't believe you talked DH into doing this! That's amazing. I would really like to sail into London but I'm not kidding about despising the single supplement. I have to get over that to book.

    FT

DH is a closet SD lover! Last crossing he was always wanting me to get the coordinates so he could track us. He tells everyone how great the food is and what a good time he has had. He still loves to tease me and say "I'm not going!" I know he will love it! He loves sitting up in the bridge. About the single supplement...just me but, not having to share with anyone (except DH) is worth it. I love having my own space to get away and for 2 weeks of peace when I want it....well, it is worth it to me whenever I can swing it. Would love to see you again on this, FT!! I'll bring some Kenny, Zac, Jimmy, Lady A, DVDs to play on the big screen! LOL!!

  12. I was telling Mr. LePisto that as one of the "old-timers" who had done a number of crossings without a single supplement, even though its only 25%, it just irked me to pay it. It was implemented because couples traveling together requested adjacent halves of a Commodore and so got a suite at a really great discount. However since I will truly be traveling without DH due to school schedule I won't be cheating to get a Commodore!

    FT

FT--are you thinking of doing this crossing too?!

  13. Ohmiss, have you ever been to the RAF Museum? If not, it is fabulous, but I must warn you, it is not all that easy to get to! First time we went, it was almost a mile from the Tube. It's now much more built up and may be easier to get to (last time we had a car and stopped on our way from Heathrow to Cambridge). Enjoy!

Yes, vandrefalk, I have been to the RAF museum back in about 1990! At the time I was with a friend who lived in London with a CAR!! We might do the tube, just so my DH can have the experience...OR...I might be nice and ask our friends to take us!! Heehee!! I do know that Berry, my DH, a military pilot, will just have a great time seeing those very cool WW2 airplanes! AFTER I have my great time on my sweet SeaDream!!

So thanks for the heads up!! :)

  14. Trying to talk DJ's DH into this one but I suspect it won't happen as doesn't want to "lose" a hour every couple of days.

Guess I will have to look at the single supplement rate:confused:

Haha DJ!! Yes, but that is the ONLY slight drawback. It's better than losing all 5 hours at once! You just can't beat SD sailing up the Thames. I still can't believe Berry agreed to go. I think the RAF museum at "the end of the trail" has something to do with it. I see him spending most days on the bridge asking his usual pilot questions while I will be relaxing you know where with you know what! LOL :D

  15. You know you are addicted to SeaDream when, after some 30 Christmases, you help your spouse undecorate the house with the understanding that next Christmas you'll be on SeaDream!:p

Actually we will be on SD2 the week before Christmas and hopeful on STJ on Christmas!

Just booked SD2 for Christmas!! Hope to see you in STJ and FT and ZQVol on board! WooHooo!!
