Anyone with a similar experience? Booked for a 7 day on Sunshine. I was really looking forward to those drinks.....do they all have virgin options?? Also, is this atmosphere going to be okay for me?
I don't drink, but still love the fruity cruise drinks. There are a lot to choose from that you can get without the alcohol. Bonus - they are cheaper :). Congrats!!

On our last cruise they did offer a package, but, honestly it was way more photos than we were interested in purchasing. They also offered special photo shoots around the ship by appointment. But again, we weren't interested in so many photos..........maybe one or two.
Do you remember how much it was? I know that they had one on the Pride that was like $300-something for a 14 day cruise...

Sorry to hear about your son. But as far as him being able to go on the cruise with you now - who knows, maybe there is a more the merrier rate cheaper than your original price anyway and that would be great

Try your bank. Some will have free notary services

In the past, I have indeed had them fill my own cup, yes.

Ha. Naw, we got a blanket and a few items of clothing washed that day! For $15. The bags actual hold quite a bit if you stuff the right. About the size of a bag you would find in a hotel room? Except paper instead of plastic.

If this is on spring break, there are going to be lots of other kids this age and the counsellors are great working with the kids and getting them involved in activities - I wouldn't worry about it too much! This is their job!!

We had an emergency laundry load to do once as soon as we got on the boat, and we just let them do it. Filled a bag, left it in the stateroom, and it was back later that night! For like $10 or $15??

They should at least be available in the sports bar (depending on ship) but this is a vacation- who needs football?? :)

At one point I know that Carnival was toying with the idea of offering unlimited internet onboard that included unlimited in any of their "fun hubs" -- as well as on one device. Does anyone know 1) if this ever panned out and if it is indeed being done on the Dream, and 2) if it is, how much it runs? When they were toying with it, it was different prices on different boats for a few months as they were trying to determine a price point if I remember correctly (and popularity)?

Yep, I got one, husband got one, parents each got one... This went out to everyone!!! Big boo boo on someone's part!!!

We did Altan Ha (I know I probably spelled that incorrectly), and we really enjoyed that. It is not nearly as far away, but a great "intro" into Mayan ruins. There are a few different ones there that you can climb up -- some easier than others. It is fascinating, and only about 20 minutes (maybe slightly more) instead of 2 hours.

The wife and I were just given a free cruise on th Dream. What do yall think of the ship and how is Port Canaveral for embarking and debarking.
The Dream is our favorite ship (by far), and Port Canaveral is our favorite port! We are booked on the Dream in October after it moves to New Orleans, and hope that they can do the Dream as well as PC has done!!!

Only had one minor problem with a Camp Counselor. It was embarkation day, they have an "open house", and as I have been to the orientation before, I wanted to drop off the paperwork then instead of interrupting my evening. The counselor was IMHO rude. She refused to take my paperwork and told me to report to the orientation. First time that ever happened, and was not an omen for the rest of the cruise.
One thing people need to remember, this is a CAMP until 10 PM, not a babysitting service.
Oh my goodness, I am surprised to hear that!! I had the complete opposite experience on one of my cruises! We went to check out the open house, and had planned on going to the orientation as well, but happened to have the paperwork with me. The open house person asked me if I would like to go ahead and drop it off then and there, so I didn't have to worry about it later...

Thank you so much for the link -- that was just the information I was looking for!

How did you like the counselors in camp? We're sailing on the Splendor in 8 weeks and my kids are 3 and 4. Hoping they will like camp!
We loved them. They were always great with the kids. My 5 year old always finds one particular one she latches on to (and that particular one latches on to her). A really great group of people!

Okay -- have to ask here, because I don't want to search through millions of other posts... Seuss at Sea breakfast??

My kids LOVE camp carnival. It is just one of the many reasons we keep going back to Carnival. Mine are now 5 and 9, and have been going for a few years. They have never been in the same group, but there are certain activities where they do get to mingle (especially some of the later night stuff). I think this also may depend on how many kids are on board, etc. We tend to go during some of the off peak seasons, where there are kids on board, but maybe not as many as spring break/summer/holidays.

I have not been on the Sunshine, but I can say that we have been on the Dream three times. We will be going on her for the 4th time this fall. My daughter calls the Dream "her" ship. It is our favorite ship in the Carnival family. We absolutely love her. While the Sunshine has been redone, and I like some of the new aspects of her, I just can't get past our love of the Dream. (and yes, we have been on newer ships besides the Dream, and older ships as well).
