Lines try things like this every so often. It amazes me at the amount of anger that is geared toward them. I really can,t complain especially for the price we pad in Yacht Club would be well over double in the haven. There is your $10 zip line charge!! I love coming to this site, but the amount of negativity is amazing. If you are frustrated with MSC take your money elsewhere.

Cruiselines do these types of things not for revenue but for crowd control. You can't compare the two lines as that isn't a major attraction on Oasis Class.

From Aurea classic package to premium

I upgraded just myself for $56 wife doesn’t drink!! You will have to call or wait to board.

Wow thank you tallcruiser !! Enjoy! Have a great cruise

Thank You Tall Cruiser!! We are in 11002 next week. Just a few quick questions! Is the bathroom separate from the bedroom? Can’t tell by the pictures? Does the bed pull out to a double? And do you think there is enough room on the floor in the bedroom for a small blow up mattress?
Enjoy!!

As a hobby of mine I am an outside travel agent. This alllows me to try different lines and recommend them to friend and family. I have traveled most domestic mainstream cruise lines what I have found seems to be a lot of parody. Of course each line excels in certain areas. I have been intrigued to try msc back when the Poesia was based in ftl. Never did I see a real fit for my family until they announced plans for the seaside. Sure I am one of the pax that booked a grand suite back in December thinking it was a 2 bedroom, and if I needed the room I would certainly be very disappointed. Msc obviously seems very willing to invest in there ships and seems determined to make a huge mark in the us but clearly they have some areas of opportunity. My point in this, I have noticed based off of just 1 or 2 reviews on cruiscritc that people are willing to cancel based off of a few people’s initial observations from a inaugural transatlantic. People please take reviews with a grain of salt and discover on your own! I know I will!!

I was able to upgrade myself for $56 yesterday. I was previously told that every adult in the cabin would have to upgrade but they were able to do it!!

The room was NOT on the tour. I asked for special consideration to view the room and to do so' date=' I offered to not post pictures as the room was not completely made up. Please don't read anymore into this than what it is.
The balcony is not smaller than a regular balcony. They did not take away space. I don't recall if there was a lounger out there. As I said, I was originally booked in there and I chose to change when I thought the living room and bedroom were reversed. I was pleasantly surprised by the layout. I wish there was a door to the bathroom from the bedroom, but it is what it is.[/quote']
There has been so much anticipation about these rooms, I really haven’t seen anything like this. I believe that because of this people’s expectations were raised extremely high! I still can’t believe how inexpensive my family of 4 paid for this cabin and how many things are included!! Would I like the room to be more luxurious? Of course but people please remember how much more a comparable sized room would be on rcl or ncl. My family and I stayed in a haven 1 bedroom suite on the getaway a few years back in the same location . The balcony was small and in the hull. It did have wicker chairs and the room was extremely well appointed and the bathroom was amazing!! But we paid well over double! I do agree msc handles this extremely poor and I pity the families that we’re not on cruise critic to discover they are not two bedroom! Otherwise I can’t wait!!

The corner Grand Suites have a separate bedroom, correct? I wonder if the 9002/9003 suites have a separate bedroom or if it is a larger open cabin?
I sure hope my cabin has a separate bedroom I was disappointed when I found out it wasn’t a 2 bedroom and more importantly a 2 bath but if it was just one giant room. I will be very upset

Deck 11 grand suites are 150 sq ft bigger then deck 13 and the balcony about 25 sq ft larger
-
I just did a screen shot of 11003. On the us site. I haven’t been able to get deck 13 in a mock booking yet. I do know that deck 11 suites are showing larger and larger balcony’s then 13I wasnt looking for 13002, I just happened to look for ours. Do a dummy booking where 13002 is available and it will bring the room size up, then screenshot it, you're going to need it. -
This is from today's description of the "suite" 2 floors below this.
That balcony alone is a disgrace, let alone the rest of it, where's the bath!
What are the specs for 13002?
-
Looking at the deck plans the set up for our room is slightly larger but I will tell u it looks odd from the picture. Hopefully our balcony is larger and less cave like.
-
Interesting!! We are in 11002 and I just sent that ig user a message if they have any other pictures

I may just bite the bullet!! WhT the heck!!

You would have to pay for the entire drink.
So with that being said, if I am the only one to use it. I would have an additional 14 drinks to make it worth it! Probably not worth the upgrade.
-
I have the Aurea experience with my wife and family. I will be the only one participating in the drinking. I know that you have to upgrade all of you want to upgrade to the premium package, my question is can you pay the upgrade amount for each drink if you want premium? Or do you have to pay for the whole drink. I’m trying to decide if I am better off to just pay the difference as we go or spend the $112.

I am a travel agent who booked 11003 almost a year ago when it was supposed to be a 2bdr. I even called 3 months ago and after being on hold for almost an hour was confirmed again that it would indeed be a 2bdr. I called yesterday, and I obviously know that it is indeed a 1bdr. They offered my money back or to be in two cabins joined. Obviously that has been offered to other pax. I communicated to them that they should communicate this to the people who have booked and was met with crickets. It really is a shame! I would have really preferred to have booked YC as the price was similar when I booked and obviously tht is not avaible anymore. I won’t cancel because I am really looking forward to the ship. I guess if everything is full I can’t expect an upgrade so what would make the situation right? Any ideas?

What type of compensation would you all see as fair?
-
I have the exact same scenario with msc confirming multiple times. I have told them to notate the conversation but haven't asked for any compensation.
-
Fingers crossed

I just got the phone with msc. They confirmed cabin 11001-11002-11003 are indeed. Two bedroom two bath Said the square ft. Is only slightly smaller. However confirmed that deck 13 the rooms are only double occupancy. I asked them to notate my conversation on this date in case anything changes. I also advised them to visit these boards to confirm to us anxious cruisers.
Avoiding dressing up on formal nights YC Seaside Help!!
in MSC Cruises
Posted
My wife, 5 year Old and 10 month old, and I are sailing on the Seaside this Saturday. We are staying in the Yc! We usually avoid getting dressed up on formal nights on other lines and either hit up the speciality restaurants or Buffet. My question is around dining during formal evenings. Are the speciality restaurants formal? We would really like to avoid eating dinner in the buffet. How formal do you feel you have to dress to be accepted into the YC dining room. Our plan would be to eat in the two Asian restaurants in those nights. Please advise.
Thanks
