Just a heads up we got off the pride today and Snapchat will not work
Any idea why? Its listed both on their sheet and CapRock's (The provider). Not that I care all that much but I kinda told my DD that she could snapchat from the boat.

Guess it would depend on how close it is to your sailing. In my experience with both RCCL and CCL, they want recent verification of ownership.
6 weeks out... I have a buy order in for tomorrow, and a pending sale should it go up more than enough to cover commissions. Since we have two cabins, I might have my wife do the same. At the current stock price, it kinda seems like free money.
-
Pretty sure you can do this from the carnival checkin before you leave. We have two cabins with two guests and I was playing around with them and you can set each cabin occupant up with his/her own spending account or bundle them together or any combo of above.
-
Is there a catch to this? Can I just dump $4600 on 100 shares, get the trade confirmation, then sell again immediately? I realize I will lose $10 on two way trade but its still a 9x return....
-
Also note that if you are going to buy gift cards, cash cards, etc, there are lots of discounts out there. Verizon Wireless sells cards at a 10% discount for VZW customers, as do several other retailers.

Cameras are more of a "I have X to spend" thing. But for the money, you cannot go wrong with a canon EOS Rebel T5.

On the opposite side of the coin I am adding this to my "Might be a cheap way to cruise" list... My kids are older, and Im a night owl on vacations.

Once I have my seat at a Blackjack table I am oblivious to the world.
I am like this with video poker. I am almost ashamed to admit it too. I know its such a sucker bet, but its so entertaining. I *love* sitting at a packed bar with VP machines and watching people and stacking (and de-stacking) virtual chips.

I find it odd as well. I had flagged it and it was in the flag folder and everything the other day, and now it's gone. My SO got the email too and his was missing as well. They concluded it was a system error that caused both the OBC and emails to go missing. Their system has been very screwy at times.
But yes, I'm glad I'll be getting it back as well
EDIT: Apparently companies can essentially 'unsend' emails if the user hasn't opened it (which I didn't I just saw it was approved in the title and flagged it)...it's called a recall.
I didnt read the rest of this thread yet, but no, they cannot "unsend" emails. Ever. The "recall" is basically a non RFC process implemented for Microsoft Exchange and it generates a "User X has recalled message Y" thing. Unless CCL is using MS Exchange to send emails (A thing I highly doubt.. But the internet is a strange place) and you are also using Exchange, *and* your exchange admin allows non-authenticated recalls (A thing that should not be allowed...) this cannot happen.
The thing to keep in mind is that the place you read your mail from is NOT under any control from anyone besides your provider.
I dunno why I even brought this up other than this is what I do for a career and I spend a LOT of time on customer education.
Now I am going to read the rest of the thread. Glad you got your moneys back.

Dont worry if you dont get FTTF. You do not need it!
Not that I disagree with you but i'm curious why you say that... i am contemplating FTTF for a Pride cruise in July and I could almost see the value for tendering...

I have not had it yet but the GF pizza on the ships is supposed to be ok.

The break even point is 5 drinks per day. We like to drink on vacation and thought it was well worth the money. When we sailed on the Dream April 26th thee were tables set up when you entered the ship and by the Lido bar. Must be purchased by both people in the room.
What if one of the people in the room is underage?
ETA: Nevermind: Its everyone in the stateroom 21 or over must purchase... You could game the system if you had two cabins...

How well it is enforced is subject to debate, but per Carnival's web site:
"Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: jeans, men's sleeveless shirts, shorts, t-shirts, sportswear, baseball hats, flip-flops and bathing suit attire"
Yeah, that was basically what I was asking... Is it enforced?
-
I think you guys will look great!
You will see everything from guys in khakis with a polo all the way up to tuxes and everything in between. The range for the ladies is just as wide.
I don't want to start a debate or a fight by any means (and I plan to dress up because I am an utter slob 99% of the time) but do they not allow jeans on elegant nights? I know my last cruise on RCCL they enforced none of the 'rules'.
Im mostly asking because im curious.....

I wonder what the amount is that they stop and say "Whoa there!"
Like, could I get $5,000 worth of gift cards (For $4500 from verizon) and put it all on, then get $5k out at the casino, pocketing $500?
Don't get me wrong, Im way too lazy for this, I just wondered.

But I can make phone calls with Skype, no? Their site says I can make Skype to landline calls and text with people who do not have Skype. I just really need to know if that is how it works....through the Wifi. I am assuming it is, but I would like to know from someone who actually has used it to make phone calls.
Thanks for your input though.
Yes you can make calls. And its dirt cheap. Like $2.99 a month or something. Or 2.3 c per minute. Ive used it occasionally from MX where the internet is horrific and had marginal success. You can also use it to text (But I never did. I just know you can.) You can also use google voice and a laptop to place calls/send texts over the ship internet for totally free.
I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with whatever app you go with before going, and be prepared to have voice calls be super choppy. Ive heard that the top tier internet on the new ship wifi plans actually handles voice somewhat well.
Skype is basically two things: Its a video chat application thats free and uses the internet. Its also a way to make voice-only calls/texts that requires a subscription. Oh and theres some one month free deal.

They even have gluten free desserts including gf chocolate melting cake!
Oh thank God. :) It looks so good but I assumed I would never know!

Soon, too! They are about the only thing on the whole group worth anything.

Theres a great (and LONG) photo review of the Pride on the main carnival forum page... Mitsugirly... And another one from Jamman... Both have loads of pics.
-
They also offer a mixology class for somewhere in the neighborhood of $15-17 and it includes 3 mini drinks and a coupon for a full size drink later on.
How does one sign up for this?

Its at least 45 minutes from Coz to PdC. Then its 62 km from the ferry Terminal to the ruins at Tulum. My last western cruise, there were a few people that did that but they had about 2 hours on the site.
To the original poster, go to Mr Santos. Its a 10 min cab ride from the terminal. Great beach. And chances are a ton of other people from the ship will be there.
SANCHOS. Mr Sanchos. Not Santos. No idea how I managed to type that wrong.

One thing about Cozumel, and I only know this because we will be there in Oct and I have done some researching, is that some excursions that show up under this location on the Carnival site are not located on the actual island of Cozumel itself, but on mainland Mexico. Which means that there is a ferry ride required to and from which will eat up some of your time. I have heard that the ferry is 45 minutes each way, but can't attest to the accuracy of that statement. Anyway, I think some people who book excursions to Xcaret or the Mayan Ruins of Tulum end up being disappointed about how little time they get to spend there because on top of the ferry ride, there is also a bus ride to those locations once they reach the mainland.
Anyway, good luck, and enjoy your trip!

I just booked on the Pride for july and my daughter will be very happy with this news... I'm stunned how much less the packages are for this. I assume we will prolly get the Social Media package for the family so we can stay in touch on the ship.
Last time I paid for internet on a cruise I was planning out how best to use my minutes. :)
Anywhere for a LONG run?

I did 9 one early morning on Liberty OTS (RCCL) while we were docking/docked at RCCL's private island. But I think that LOTS has a rubberized track. It was pretty weird with the wind and it was boring but I did it. The best part of it was every time I ran by this one set of automatic doors, they would open and spew cold air on me. I also did a 10k sailaway out of Miami once from a rear-facing treadmill that was pretty epic.
I am training for a fall marathon, so i imagine I will do a few miles on deck 10 in july...
As to "who trains for a marathon on a cruise..." Runners are addicts.
