  1. Has anyone boarded COVID positive, but with a Certificate of Recovery?  How difficult was the checkin process?

I disembarked from Encore Alaska on 8/7, had symptoms by 8/9 and tested positive on 8/11.  I am on COVID meds. My next cruise is 8/21 on Breakaway Canada/New England.  Afraid I might still test positive on 8/19 when I do my test for this cruise.  I’m debating whether to cancel or to go ahead with a Certificate of Recovery from my primary care physician.

Can someone in similar situation weigh in, please?

  2. I have a related issue.  I contacted Shareholder Benefits and they gave me a $250 OBC.  They sent me an amenity invoice that shows the $250 (2x $100 + 1x $50) for a 15-day cruise.

However, my NCL account only shows $150 OBC.  So, I went back to Shareholder and they re-confirmed the $250 and sent another amenity invoice.  This was 10 days ago and my account is still not updated.  Is this something I should keep pursuing (and with what department) or should I just resolve this onboard?

  3. Hi Anni,

We are 2 senior ladies doing a Baltics cruise from Warnemunde. We need a little guidance from you on the following:

    A. Traveling from Berlin to Warnemunde on FlixBus on June 22, which stop is closest to the cruise ship? We have heavy luggage (50 lbs.each) and can't walk far. Is taxi or Uber readily available?

    B. If we arrive and check-in at NCL around 1pm, what sights are easy to visit, if we are able to get off the ship, in the afternoon?

    C. On July 1, when we disembark from cruise, we are traveling from Rostock to Frankfurt on a 10:30 IC train. What's the most efficient way to make this train?

    Thanks for your help.

  4. Did I read somewhere there's an ATM that gives you cash and charges it to your onboard account??

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Not really an ATM. You can put your NCL room key into a slot machine, download cash to the slot (which is then charged to your room). You can play one or two pulls at the slot, then withdraw the balance. You will get a paper print-out which you can cash out in the ATM.

During my last two B/A sailings, there was no 3% charge on my onboard account, they just charge the amount you downloaded to the slot.

I hope that's still the procedure on I sail on 6/22/14.

  5. We are on BA June 22 sailing. We are travelling with 3 grand kids (8,6&2) and needed connecting rooms and closer to elevator (knee problems for grandma). Traded the OAs higher deck/front of the ship for OCs on deck 5 below Taste/Savor. I am now having doubts. Are these rooms (5830, 5832 & 5834) noisy?

  6. Breakaway OC Deck 5 under Savor/Taste: has anyone stayed on these rooms? How is the noise level? We are travelling with 3 small children and needed connecting OV rooms. Initially had the OA cabins at the front of the ship; but switched to Deck 5 to be close to elevator & get the connecting rooms.

  7. I went through this thought process last week. If it were just me, I'd go with the GEM. Better itinerary and more mature crowd.

But I am sailing with the grandkids and they are wow'd by the slides, bigger Splash Academy and activities on Breakaway. So, it is Breakaway for the family for our June sailing. Then, I'll sail GEM on the 11-day itinerary in Oct.
