  1. I am going to book an extended family cruise on the Wonder, new to RCL. We have four children going ranging in ages 5-11, 6 adults. Seems like a great ship for these ages. Since we are footing the bill for this I am trying to figure out rooms for each of the three families. We always prefer ocean view balconies but my question is whether or not the size (182 sq ft) is actually comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. That seems really small for a family of four to me. I know you don’t spend that much time in the room anyway but don’t want them falling all over themselves either! I love the Junior Suite but it’s a bit too pricey when I have to do 2 of them. I also know you could sacrifice the balcony for portholes and get more square footage but I think they would really love having that balcony. Any help or advice is most welcome!

Based on what I'm seeing in the app for the current Apex sailing, the Magic Carpet resides on deck 14 on port days (with exception to tender port days) and deck 16 on sea days, with some stops on deck 5 for dinner. Is this right?

Just off the apex and the Magic Carpet stayed on Deck 14 the whole time, never moved.

New to Celebrity. I understand seapass will be available outside room and not handed out at embarkation. How soon after we go through embarkation and board ship will the pass be available? I am going to want my first beer at lunch!

Just returned from Apex and sea pass cards were available immediately upon getting to the cabin.

  4. I am cruising out of Amsterdam on the Apex on Sept 11. If possible I will post what the process was to board at that time. I am anticipating, as some suggest, that this is theatre and they will hardly care about the test and test result at all. I have many self test kits with me in case I want to do some on the ship as well. I believe we are finally moving in the right direction. Happy travels to all!

They've changed it to a non-supervised self-declared option if you are vaccinated as of Sept 5... I've got both types and I'll be packing both!  You never know what's going to happen between now and the fall...

Oh wow. So much less stress. I already have the tests purchased so I am bringing them anyway. The timing is great as I sail Sep 11!

At some point in the past you selected 11:30. By going back in you are editing the check in and it’s asking to pick a new arrival time but now 11:30 isn’t available. Just leave it alone and you will keep your time. If you select a different time at this point your 11:30 spot is gone. Check-in time is green because it’s already complete.

Perfect that’s what I was hoping. Do t mess with success! Thanks so much!

You had previously selected an 11:30 arrival time. Now the earliest available is 12:30. Don't mess with it at this point.

The Wellness Check section changed to "Health Status" this morning where you attest if you are vaccinated, had a booster or are pregnant.

I am confused because on one section it says my arrival time is 11:30 and it’s green. But if I click on Arrival time (where it says it will see me on the date at 11:30) it takes me to a different screen where it seems to be asking me to select a time for my wellness check and then submit at the bottom. One spot it seems to tell me I am good to go at 11:30 but another seems to want me to select a time. Could the second spot be just in case I wanted to change the time from  11:30 to a later time??? I am so confused.

  8. I have noticed what some other posters here have said that on the app now our Vaccination status approval has disappeared. Not sure if it was meant to or not. However I have a quesion about the Wellness Check. In my app it now shows Travel Info complete and Arrival time below says "see you at 11:30 for your wellness check". When I click on this it opens up a screen that requires me to select an arrival time for the wellness check but only begins at 12:30 pm. Does this make sense? Why would I arrive at 11:30 and wait for an hour for the wellness check? What is the wellness check anyway? This seems very confusing. Btw we are up-to-date with our vaccinations. Thank you for your assitance.

If it's like the Edge beware because it was $20 whether you ordered a sandwich or an entree.  Having said that, I great place for lunch, we’ve eaten there a number of times.

Interesting. I thought I must be missing something with the pricepoint and the disparity in the menu! So no reservations there at all? Also I see you can grab and go there as well?

  10. Sailing on the Apex in a month and have a question about this dining venue. I am looking at it on the app. It appears to be a  paid venue, it says $20. It appears to be open for lunch and the menu is quite extensive. I am confused by the mix of items listed. There appears to be sandwiches and then the plats du Jour like Coq au Vin and Duck Breast. Surely it's not $20 for Rack of Lamb as well as a ham and cheese baguette!? What am I missing here? Confused obviously. Also can you reserve here or is it just drop in? Many thanks!

yes, there are only a few of the available wines listed on the menu.  Tell your server that you have the CBP and the type of wine you like.  They’ll be able to match something within your package.  If you don’t mind going a few dollars over, you can let them know how much, and that will expand your options.

I hope you enjoy your Apex cruise as much as we enjoyed ours last fall.

Thank you for the info. I am sure we will enjoy it. So looking forward to it!

If you tell them you have the classic package they should be able to offer you choices. If you are generally happy with this package there should not be a difficulty.

If you want something better with your meal there are other alternatives….

You can choose glasses of wine from  the premium package and just pay the difference plus gratuity.

Other alternatives include buying a bottle on the night (a good way to spend some OBC).

Take a bottle of your favourite wine on board with you, there is no longer a corkage charge.

So would wines be available there that are not appearing on their menu? For example if we wanted a Sauvignon Blanc that was part of our package and served in the MDR would we be able to access that in the specialty dining areas? Sounds as though you might be saying this?

  13. It's been a while since my last Celebrity cruise and I used to know the answer to this question but it escapes me now. We are on an Apex sailing in September and have just the basic beverage package perk. Can you use the package for drinks in the speicalty reatuarants? We have Le Petit Chef and Rooftop Grill booked but when I look at the menus there seems to be very little in terms of the $$ value for the basic package (lower priced items). Are we paying for alcohol then in those spots? Thanks to all for your help!

My plan is to buy the 4 day ticket at the ticket windows at the airport, and purchase the train ticket to Central at the same time. I thought about doing the online thing, but felt this was just as easy.

So you are able to purchase at the airport? Do you know where the window is that you do the purchase by chance?

  15. This may not be an appropriate place to post this but I wondered, for those of you who have done multiple days here, if you are able to purchase a 4 day GVB ticket at the airport. I was also considering purchasing one online first and then just redeeming it but not sure if you can do that at the aiport or if you have to travel to a redemption location. I was hoping to buy it online (CAD funds) and then just redeem for the actual passes at the airport when we land. Is this possible? Thank for all replies!

  16. I am booked on the Apex in September of this year. I just received a move up offer this morning. I am totally unfamiliar with this process so thought I would ask for some help. Currently I am booked in an Infinite Verandah cabin. They have listed all possible upgrades with amounts per person in each category? Is that the minimum bid for that classification? I assume if you offered and were accepted you would lose the location on the ship you had picked out and be subject to whatever comes up? So maybe not midship, other side of the ship? Are these offers used to fill cabins in undesirable locations? If I used a TA do I go through them to put forth an offer. Never done this before so is it worth it and how does this work? Thanks to all responses!

OP, with you having a booster, you are ‘Up to Date no matter the date of your vaccinations or the boosters. There are so many issues we all have to handle with cruising, the tests, itinerary changes and chances of quarantines while cruising, I’d not take on what issues others have getting emails about their status.

I got an email telling me to update my vaccination status for my upcoming cruise, something I’d done weeks ago. I’m ignoring it. What counts is having your vaccination card with you for checkin. I’ve done all the preparations but will have all the documentation with me, and not driven by emails usually generated by computers.

I got the unnecessary email exactly one month prior to my cruise which is a strong indication it was computer generated. So I don’t care and won’t waste my time reacting to it..

    den

Sage advice. This is a whole new world now and hard to stay on top of everything. I will hold fast to my up to date status and not worry!

European definition of Up to Date: vaccinated within 9 months (270 days) of final dose in primary series OR boosted. The 270 days must extend to the final day of the cruise. The last primary dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation.

**Definition of Fully Vaccinated: vaccinated with a full dose of a primary series vaccine more than 9 months (270 days) prior to sailing, and NOT boosted. The last primary dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation.

    Thank you!
