Several other threads on this topic. Short story; b2b fine and running. Testing within 48 hrs before boarding. Testing on board on turnaround day for those on b2b. Search b2b for full story.

CineGraphic, can you describe the buffet some more? It used to be called the Horizon Court. I see on the deck plan besides the World Fresh Marketplace there is a seafood venue and BBQ venue. How are they?

I’m looking forward to your postings. We are on CB February 6 for b2b. We haven’t been on this ship for 4 or 5 years. It will be interesting to see changes. I’m wondering if they installed hand washing stations at buffet like they have on Regal. Enjoy your cruise! 😀

I am also concerned about itinerary changes. I’m on a b2b starting February 6. Second week is Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Previous comments about Grand Cayman have me worried about it and Jamaica. On the upside the CDC yesterday made it’s conditional sailing order voluntary after January 15. Maybe things will be softening up shortly.

We have port call in Ocho Rios in February and would like to visit Shaw Park Gardens. Had an excursion cancelled and are considering private taxi. My wife is concerned with safety. Has anyone taxi’d to Shaw Park Gardens and can comment?

Has anyone used Instant Medical Care on 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale for pre-cruise Covid testing? If you could describe experience and cost, that would be helpful. Thanks and Happy Holidays.

We have been on the CB many times. During the day, often Skywalker's lounge is empty and deserted. Wonderful place to just chill and hang out, especially if weather is bad on deck.

How about Sabatinis and Crown Grill? I’d feel more comfortable with a jacket.

We've done this recently a couple of times in October and last month. After you test onboard and get a negative result, you'll only need your medallion, passport (or driver's license & birth certificate), and Guest In Transit card. (See attached below.)
TESTING:
If you are a B2B passenger you cannot leave the ship UNTIL you have had the rapid-test antigen test FIRST. All of us transit passengers were required to go to the designated testing venue for testing (in our case the Vista Lounge). We were hanging out with others who were going out; they all needed to get tested first.
When you re-board as a transit passenger you will NOT need proof you have been tested.---
Thank you for your most informative reply.

Hi, I have a question. After test on turnaround day and disembarking, what if you don’t want to get right back on ship. We want to leave port area and go shopping for wine and maybe hit a beach for a few hours. Does Princess give you paperwork or something so when you re-board you have evidence of test?

How much does that cost?

I faxed documents 11/8 and credits are not yet posted. Called yesterday and was told they are behind in processing and my request should be done by December. Seemed like rep received this call often as her responses were rather canned. My cruise is in February so I will chill.

Anyone do a b2b recently in Ft. Lauderdale? We are doing first b2b on the CB in February and would very much like to hear about procedures on turnaround day. Especially what happens if you test positive.

Why is CB not stopping in Princess Cay or Jamaica?
-
We are on Caribbean Princess February 6 for eastern/western back to back. Second week featured Grand Cayman and Jamaica. I see Grand Cayman will be closed to cruise ships until late January. Jamaica reopened to cruise ships in September. I’m hoping Grand Cayman will be reopened in February. We haven’t been there before and would like to stroll Seven Mile Beach. Not sure from what I’ve seen what’s happening with Jamaica but also hope for first time visit. Hope to hear positive updates.

Thank you folks. I think I have my question answered.

I have 14 day back to back cruise on Princess out of Ft. Lauderdale in February. Do I need a new covid test on turnaround day to reboard the ship?
-
Enjoying your posts. We will hopefully be in Honolulu in September for cruise. Will arrive a couple of days early to see the sights. Especially looking forward to hike up Diamond Head and of course strolling Waikiki Beach. 🏖

I’m very happy to hear this. The economic benefit of resuming cruising for port communities and the U.S. generally justifies any cost or allocation concerns. Let’s get everybody vaccinated and get back to normal! 💉🚢😀

The US Taxpayers since the U.S. Government is paying for the vaccines.
The economies of the port communities and The U.S. generally will greatly benefit from a resumption of cruising so I’m good with that. 💉🚢😀

We have late September cruise booked on POA. Payment deadline is late July so we will wait until then to make any decisions. NCL wants to start cruising in U.S. by July 4. If that happens great! If not boo hoo. 😢

Knowing the unknowable, absolute certainty are unobtainable aspirations. I agree with oteixeira that we have a path back to normal life that is safe and effective and is the most certain way to get us back to where we want to be. We should take it.💉😀

in Princess Cruises

Guy on CB right now said they did turnaround day test afternoon before in Skywalker lounge. 5 minutes, no problems.
