It appears from John Heald's Facebook post this afternoon that the fish and chips on the Glory has been replaced with a BBQ option. Has anyone tried the BBQ on the Glory? Any comments. I will be on the Glory in November 2017.

My understanding is that you will be platinum for the entire cruise. You should be able to look at your cruise documents to confirm.

I'm curious which ship they are on...I, too, sail out of Miami on Jan 8th. What are the chances they are on the Splendor????
sounds like a good incentive to work there. we don't get a bonus of any kind and I haven't had a raise in 4 years.
According to the article, they are leaving on the cruise Monday the 9th, flying down to Miami on the 8th. The only ship leaving Miami on the 9th is the Carnival Victory, 4 day cruise.

I hope Carnival keeps going to Half Moon Cay.

There are 1A's. The beds are usually singles, some can be put together to make a queen. Regular inside is usually only $40 more with a little more space. Still have to pay double occupancy.
Beware of the 1A porthole cabins at the very front of the ship on the lower decks, can be very noisy if the sea is rough.

I was on the Glory doing that itinerary one month ago. Nov. 5-12.

14 days. B2B on the Glory

YTD is listed as 5:45-9:30, can you actually show up at 9:30 and still be seated?

Was anyone on here on the 11/19 cruise on the Glory? It seemed like the ship rocked an awful lot compared to past cruises we've been on (Triumph, Dream and Pride). Was it just choppy water all week or is it something about the Glory?
I was on the 11-5 and 11-12 Glory cruise and didn't notice any rough conditions, so I'm assuming it is not the ship itself.

Does Carnival consider Vaping the same as smoking when it comes to the non-smoking restrictions? I was on the Glory the last two weeks and saw several occasions were people were vaping in non-smoking areas.

I was in Grand Turk last week 11-17-16. There are free loungers with umbrella covers and free clam shells. the umbrellas were green and the clam shells were blue. Beyond that area there are loungers and umbrellas that I saw people paying for, not sure why there were lots of free ones, we were the only ship that day.

It was the round wooden box. Not that much room to hold stuff so it didnt appeal to us
I got the same wooden box on the Glory last week. You can take out the foam insert which will give you extra room inside.

The free drink during sea day brunch is a platinum and diamond perk. The coupon is at the bottom of the P&D letter left in the stateroom.
Gold cruisers get the coupon for a free last day (evening) drink.
I just looked at the VFIP benefit chart and did not see where Golds get the free drink, I think they did away with that perk and now you get a bottle of water.
Sorry after a second look the Gold level does get the free drink coupon.

It is my understanding that now the free drink is only for Platinum and above to be used at the Seaday brunch?

I did a B2B on the Splendor last November, I thought it was very nice ship with a layout that I believe is unique to other Carnival ships. It has the center pool-big screen area with the retractable roof, great for watching movies in the evening if the weather is bad.

I read a few posts about needing to choose when you had your room taken care of. IS this true you now have to choose a time? When did Carnival start doing that? I have not been on a cruise since 2013 when I was on the Dream and our steward must have been in our room 5 times a day. Now I guess I should say when I met him on day one I gave him a 20 and again when the cruise was over. Please confirm what you have seen.
I just saw a post from someone who is currently on the Glory, and they were not asked to fill out a card and have been receiving service twice a day.
-
Thanks for reminding me. No form to fill out. Room Steward introduced himself just before muster. Didn't even ask about service, and it's been the normal twice a day. He is excellent!
Saffie is the CD. She's better than Eric IMHO. I felt no love for him in February and I'm glad he's not here this time. I know a lot of people like him, but not me. He might have been extra super annoying because his dad was onboard that week. I ran into her and "The Fun Squad" at Creams this morning. They are a trip.
Thanks for the info. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!

I will be on the Glory on November 5th, were you asked to fill out a form concerning the stateroom service, morning or evening service?
Who is the cruise director? Any comments?
-
Ohiobucki, thank you. Once you get off the Glory again, and if you find you have something YOU would like to share, whether positive/negative, please share, as I like to know the ifs/ands/buts about the ship, "ahead" of time. :)
Will Do!!

Questions for recent Glory Cruisers:
Were you asked to fill out the card for what time of the day you wanted your cabin serviced?
Were there robes in the cabin?

Good to know. We are doing the Carnival Glory in March, going the eastern direction.
Do you know if they have the chocolate night or buffet, or anything like that like they used to years ago?
I'm trying to get ANY info I can on the Glory.
They do not have the midnight buffet anymore, they sometimes have a Mexican buffet later in the evening after the deck party. The Chocolate Extravaganza is usually in the afternoon on the last sea day. I have been on the Glory twice before and will be sailing again in 24 days. Any other questions?

I haven't been on the Magic but if it is like other ships, on 7 day cruises about 4 evenings between 6:00 and 9:00 you can get small samples of food from other venues around the ship, stakehouse, etc.

Have there been any changes to the P and D party lately?

Per the Facebook post I saw it has already been converted from fish and chips to BBQ, so you should be able to try it next week.
