We did the Amazing River with the cruise line in Playa. You can shop on 5th Ave after. We loved it.

Deck 2 aft works great for us. Very quiet and not much foot traffic. Vibration usually only in and out of port, but we are up anyway.

The shops normally open up again about 30 minutes after sailing on embarkation day and after being at a port of call.

They have closed them to change vendors.

I've tried to book their stingrays and land tour two different times with no luck. Nativeway both times emailed saying it's not available. Anyone do this tour?

In my opinion 2384 was the best cabin out of the three. A cove is so much better than a regular balcony. 2384 is actually above the dining room (which I have had) and it's so quiet. Your balcony on the 6th is above deck 5, which is one of the noisier decks.

Have the fun shops closed or reopened with the new vendors?

I did this excursion in Oct. As long as you feel like you could go on a hike on uneven ground you should be ok. Just have good water shoes.

You can blame past cruisers for having to pick up your alcohol the last morning. Out of control drunks on the last night guzzling their deliveries.

We've just booked this through HAL and now I am wondering about timing. HAL says it's a 8 hour excursion,though 30 minute drive from Playa Del Carmen after the ride from Cozumel. First anyone know what you do for maybe 5 or 6 hours (if calculations are close). Also someone mention eating and then going back for pics. Are there restaurants near by?

We booked with Carnival and lunch was included. They had a buffet at Rio Secreto.

Did the Amazing River excursion through Carnival, we loved it.

Stupid question... I'm thinking of booking this excursion - sounds like something my family will enjoy. Do you have to go underwater at any point?

There was one part where you had to duck your head in for a moment due to a narrow passageway.

No cameras allowed. There is a guy that trails along taking pictures and you can view them afterwards. They tell you to eat lunch after viewing them and to come back by after lunch if interested in some pics. Absolutely no pressure to buy.

Yes, this is a premiere cruise

We did Rio Secreto in Oct. and booked through Carnival. The ship was due to set sail at 6pm and the ferry pulled in at 6, of course the ship waited for us due to booking through them. If I had booked on my own I would have worried all day and not had a relaxing fun time.

We did it through Carnival and it truely was Amazing.

I liked Malcom. He is very approachable.

Priced out the new CLIA early saver sale for my Vista cruise next November.

 

The price is $270.00 HIGHER then what I booked at. Either I got a REALLY good deal when I initially booked or the CLIA sale is another dud.

We always arrive early and board early. Just never received a specific hour window of time to check in. I plan on ignoring it.:D

Anybody receiving calls and/or emails close to sailing from Carnival giving a time to check in at the port and if you are early you may be told to wait? We did, they said our check in time is 12:30-1:30.

Good luck with 2016... I was just there 3 weeks ago, and they have hardly started the new bridge and road that needs to be complete before they can finish the new canal... Our tour guide said the optimistic people are shooting for 2017 to be complete.... others think 2018 or 19....

We were there this past March and our guide told us the same thing. Went as far to say 2020 is a big possibility :eek:

With ES, if you have some OBC from previous price reductions and you find another price drop without any OBC offered, do they give you the lower rate but take your OBC away? I hope this makes sense.

What can I expect or are they all different? Really excited to experiece my first one in February.
