  1. We can drive or fly (from upstate NY).  Have been on many cruises, for the last few years mostly Royal Caribbean and ready to try something else.  Might like to try west coast/Pacific Ocean/Panama Canal.  I also have 2 people ( all three of us are 65 and older) that use scooters and we'll need a handicap accessible room.

    Thanks

  2. I received an offer from Carnival Cruise Lines. The offer is for a free balcony room, $400 OBC and $1,000 Funplay credits.  Since I have not sailed Carnival in at least 6 years, I am struggling about which ship/itinerary to choose.  Any suggestions?  All help is greatly appreciated.  TIA

  3. Just a word of advice-When I went to purchase a scooter for my 93 year old Mom, the dealer in our area ( and a Medicare rep) told us that Medicare no longer authorizes payments for or towards scooters.  I purchased really nice one and she uses it whenever we cruise or even go on a days outing.  Best money I ever spent!

  4. My favorite moment on a previous cruise has to be our family Thanksgiving cruise out of NOLA. Our family is separated by many miles (New York to Hawaii).  Original plans called for us all to meet up the day prior to the cruise in NOLA and travel to the ship together.  Flight delays and other obstacles had us all worried that some of us would miss the ship.  But we all made it and made plans via numerous phone calls to meet on the pool deck.  Just prior to sailing we finally saw the rest of the family approaching from the opposite end of the deck..Two of my great- nieces dropped their carry-on bags and took off running the length of the deck and jumped into my arms, nearly knocking us all to the floor.  Soon we were all in one place at the same time.  A fantastic vacation for all of us.☺️

Anyone know if you can use a Club Royale offer with the kids sail free promo?

We have asked in the past and were told you can't use kids sail free with free casino cruise.  They want gamblers in those free rooms, but you probably should ask again.

Maybe paying for the room with the casino rate can be combined with kids sail free.

    Good Luck.

  7.  Instead of a standard lanyards we use an alligator-type clip with a decorative badge holder and stretchy string and clear plastic sleeve.  Our key card goes into the plastic sleeve, thereby making both sides of the key card visible and scan-able.  Can be found in most dollar stores or office supply stores.

  8. Good afternoon all.

We are considering a cruise to Alaska next year. What itinerary would you choose?  Cruise from Vancouver- north &  returning from  Seward; Seward- south returning; from Vancouver; RT from Seattle; Seattle-north returning from Vancouver; or Vancouver-north returning from Seward.

Or would you pick by ship: Radiance OTS, Serenade OTS or Ovation OTS?

Thanks for any info or opinions.

    Lori

  9. I am assuming this is a port stop. What are your travel plans to and from the parks?  If the ship docks at 1:00, figure a 1/2 hour to debark and then transport.  Driving time is about 1 hour, but if you are planning to rent a car, it will be quite a time getting the car, and you will need to plan time to return the rental.  If you plan to take RCCL transfers to the park, they usually wait for the bus to fill.  So all in all you might have from 2:30-3:00 (at the earliest) until about 8:00 pm (at the latest) in the parks.  I've done it, but with  9:00 am arrival with a 10 pm departure using RCCL transfers. A fun day for sure, but I personally would be watching the time all afternoon so as not to miss the ship departure.

    Good luck whatever you choose.

  10. We are traveling to FLL in September to cruise on the Allure of the Seas.  In the past we have had both good and bad experiences at various hotels, but have not cruised from FLL in the recent past.  Do you have any recommendations for us?  We are 4 adults, no children and arriving about 6:30 pm the night before our cruise, so a safe, clean and reasonable hotel with easy access to dining.

    Thanks for any assistance.
