TAs have been invited to a webinar on June 3rd during which all of this will be discussed.  There will also be a health questionnaire that will need to be completed prior to sailing.  And us passengers will see this info soon:

"We anticipate these documents will be available in the next MedallionClass™ app release in app stores in the coming weeks. The MedallionClass app can be accessed using either a smartphone or a tablet device. The documents will also be available on princess.com, and your clients should be encouraged to review them prior to finalizing a booking."

I was on the phone with my TA, and she mentioned the webinar, as well as the updated helath questionnaire.  Now if we could just get the Medallion app to work correctly, or even at all.  🤪

You're welcome!  It is coming out soon.  Still this is all it says about vaccinations on page 6:

    (11) on specified itineraries, vaccination of guests with documentary proof satisfactory to Carrier, according to the criteria set forth in the COVID-19 Guest Protocols in effect at the time of sailing

I had not gotten to that page yet.  Good to know.  Good luck getting the proper documentation for your husband.

It is all in the fine print.  Thanks for posting.  Specifically section 2, A, iii:
(iii) Bring all necessary travel documents such as passports, visas, proof of citizenship, re-entry permits, minor's permissions, medical certificates showing all necessary vaccinations, and all other documents necessary for ports of call in the countries to which You will travel.

  4. Unable to use the Medallion App on my iPhone 11.  I can see my bookings but I cannot select any item, and have it load anything other than a blank white page, or the occasional error code.  I was talking to my travel agent earlier today, and I was telling her how buggy the "magic" Medallion app was, and how utterly inoperable it is for me.  She was surprised to hear this, especially since Princess is pushing everyone to use the app.

As for the Princess website, not able to properly log in there, but can get to my bookings with some fiddling around via the booked guests/manage booking links.  I know everyone may have flooded the site to check out new recent booking releases, but sheesh! this is getting ridiculous.

I am also having a lot of problems with MedallionClass App.  I am new to this app but not new to Princess.

I phoned yesterday and I was told to uninstall and reinstall - It does not work.  I have a Samsung tablet (Android 10) and a Samsung phone (Android 10) and apparently, it is Android that seems to be the problem - I was told?????

Login only works with Quick Access with booking number. I wish I could hav a password.

Travel Checklist – everything is inserted, but no checkmarks

Choose your Ocean Medallion – cannot choose for my husband (medallion, lanyard) only mine. When I try to customize, the screen turns white. no checkmarks

MedallionPay – completed, but no checkmarks

Arrival & Departure Groups – there are no arrival groups currently available – no checkmarks

So I guess, I will wait a bit and see what happens. Thank you for all your comments.

I have reinstalled this app twice.  Still does not work.  Any time i click on an option, doesn't matter which option, the screen goes white.  Then I have to close out of the app, and reopen it.  Doesn't seem to matter what function I am trying to try.  I am beyond annoyed with this app.   Why can't they fix it so it actually works?

  6. I keep getting frozen screens when I try to navigate the app.  I cannot get anything to work.  I want to add travel companion, payment, preferences, and nothing will load.  I had had this loaded on my phone before, but deleted it b/c it didn't work.  Now I've re-downloaded it, and still doesn't work for me. 🤷‍♀️

It is just as important to watch out for too short connections.

A legal connection per the airline might be 50 minutes, but I would not book that. Especially if flying internationally, I would want a two hour window. Flying domestically, one hour might be sufficient.

For example, I would never book a connection through Atlanta with less than an hour.

I would also avoid a one hour legal connection time in Chicago in the middle of winter.

all good points. I watch for those, and avoid them, too.

  8. I have had great experiences with Princess EZAir.  I keep on eye on the prices, and change to the lower priced flights when possible.  I do pay attention for the routing, and avoid the long connections as mentioned above.  I think it makes sense especially when flying overseas.  Booking through Princess you get that extra layer of protection that you won't have booking directly with the airlines.  All pluses here with my past Princess EZAir experiences.

I emailed the form and brokerage statement to them on Sunday and I see the credit on my account this morning.  This is for an August 2021 Alaska cruise.

    Resurrecting this thread to ask:

what is the email address to send the form and statement for the shareholder credit, please. I'm hopeful my two currently booked cruises actually cruise in December, and January.

I was wondering the same thing about the Best Sale Ever. We have never bought this package before.

glad i wasn't the only one wondering this.  see below quote reply.

Sip and sale and best sale ever have the gratuity included. If you were to buy the premium beverage package a gratuity is added based on the price of the package. No further per drink gratuity is added when ordering a drink from the bar.

thank you for that reply. very good info to know.

  11. this question is related to the Premier Drink Package:  does one have additional gratuity added onto each drink when using this?  or are the drink gratuities part of the package charge?  it's been a long time since i have had any drink package on a cruise, so i don't know if anything has changed.  recently i was able to get the Best. Sale. Ever.  added onto a cruise for Sept.  just want to know if i need to plan for an extra charge.

  12. Remember you can go to the Reception desk on the PG, they will give you a very fair rate ;)

Very true. I had seen the info on their site. However, I took that to mean nominal amounts, like less than $100. Unless they replenish during the cruise and could handle a larger amount. A few nice pearls worth, and some vanilla. But mostly pearls. :')

  13. The exchange at LAX does have XFP. But ..... the exchange rate is horrible, don't do it.Many ATM's to choose from. And yes, sometimes they run out of money or there is a problem with your card on the machine. The good thing is there are banks all around the area close to the ship or the major resorts will exchange a limited amount each day with a fair rate.See attachments

Thank you for the info. I posted in a panic last night. Mainly was worried b/c we are literally arriving right before departure in PPT. I didn't want to be rushed out of the airport, onto the awaiting shuttle bus, with no time for the ATM. Or, the ATM would be empty. :o

I did do some more research last night, and found an off site Travelex store, not too far from LAX, where I can do an exchange. (I'm arriving from the east coast on Friday, and flying Saturday to PPT). Their rates aren't great, and about 10K less than the current rate shown on XE.com. Wish they did a better rate closer to XE.

I'm sure my next PG cruise will be less worrisome b/c I'll know exactly what I'll need money wise. ;)

  14. Poor planning on my part has me semi-panicking about the currency exchange. Yeah, I know, I should've looked into this sooner. I had no idea I would be having difficulty.

Is the ATM at PPT a truly viable option? Is it prone to run out of money, or be inoperable often?

As an east coaster, the XPF seems to be a unicorn, and the rates listed are horrible. Since I don't bank with any banks on the west coast, exchanging in LA isn't possible AFAIK. The travel exchange place at LAX doesn't even carry them according to their website. *sigh*

  15. The website on the right pic is no longer working. Do you have a street address or location for that shop? If it is the same person i found googling, she does have an etsy shop with very interesting jewelry. I would definitely like to see the items in person. Thanks!

  16. The motu at Taha'a is spectacular. Take an early tender and find a lounge chair you like. There are more than enough chairs. There will be a floating bar as well as a bar on the motu. They serve a picnic style lunch with salads, hot dogs, burgers, fruit, etc. Everything is included as well as the open bar and drinks served in coconuts. Simply bring your towel, sunscreen, and snorkel gear. They will have kayaks there for your use as well.

Are you recommending skipping any shore excursions for this stop? It sounds wonderful, so now I'm second guessing my bookings. I would probably prefer a day on the beach over excursions. Unless of course something is a must see.

The Bora Bora motu has very little infrastructure and is 30 minutes from the ship via tender. Again, bring the same stuff. While the Bora Bora motu is beautiful the lack of chairs meant that we will skip it next time. On Bora Bora you can take a $5 shuttle from the pier to Matira Beach. We have not done this yet but the beach is rated as one of the best in the world.

I'll have to look into that suggestion. Matria Beach has chairs? I'll have to research that beach a bit more. I've also read the snorkeling at the Hilton is better anyway, so the day pass may be worth it.

These islands were never high on my long travel wishlist. This trip happened upon me rather suddenly, which has me researching everything for the best possible experience. That said, I have a feeling my first trip here won't be my last judging by many of the posters in this section.
