  1. I would imagine all 3 sets of occupants will get onboard together when you arrive. We sail from Barcelona the week after you and we’re given 4.30pm. But as our hotel checkout is at 12 we will get a taxi at 12 and hope for the best. QE arrives at 6am so it’s not as though the late boarding time is due to a late arrival.

  2. We flew Eurowings from Hamburg to London Heathrow last year-this short flight was enough to say no more- will never book with them again as seats in economy were really cramped and uncomfortable. Also we had reserved seats beforehand on their website but when we arrived at the airport this was ignored and we were given seats at the back.

  3. It is much cheaper to use the National Express coach service which runs between Heathrow and Southampton Coach station and then a 5-10 minute taxi to the cruise terminal. You have a better choice of departure times and the price includes luggage up to a certain weight. We use it all the time and see many people from the US also use this service to get to and from the airport and Southampton. It’s best to book well in advance on their website to get the best price and choice of times.

  4. British Airways on Iberia metal from Heathrow to Barcelona is what we were allocated in September by Cunard. The flight was early morning and same day the cruise started. We were refused a request for upgrade or seat allocation by Cunard in advance, and unable to check in until we arrived at the airport. The only problem fortunately was not the flight but a huge wait at Barcelona airport arrivals as the transfer coaches were badly organised. In hindsight I would book flights myself to have some control over the booking and also fly out the day before.

  5. The future cruise sales person on Onward told us  being on a Perry Golf cruise did not impact any non golfers. Apparently the golfers go off the ship to play their golf during the day, then get back onboard at the end of their golf session.

  6. The Holiday Inn on Blvd Victor Hugo is in an excellent position. Only 10 minutes walk to the sea, and 10 minutes in the other direction to the main train station. Also regarding the tram stop on the corner of Victor Hugo and Av Jean Medecin, there are escalators as well as stairs.  It is a really popular station to get to the airport so plenty of people with luggage use it. Azamara Onward will be docking in the Port of Nice not Villefranche- another tip is to get the tram from the Port- this same tram will take you to the tram stop near your hotel.
