  1. We boarded 2 weeks earlier than you and had afternoon tea in the Queens room, it started at 3pm. Think it was offered the following Monday as well. Maybe due to the fact there was less turnaround of passengers.
  2. On the current Med voyages, afternoon tea is served on embarkation day
  3. You will be docking in Nice https://m.riviera-ports.com/en/cruise-ships-1https://m.riviera-ports.com/sites/all/themes/ccirp/templates/atollng/exportexcel.php/{REQUEST_URI}?port=nicevillefranche
  4. I would imagine all 3 sets of occupants will get onboard together when you arrive. We sail from Barcelona the week after you and we’re given 4.30pm. But as our hotel checkout is at 12 we will get a taxi at 12 and hope for the best. QE arrives at 6am so it’s not as though the late boarding time is due to a late arrival.
  5. It’s currently available in the MDR on Silhouette
  6. We flew Eurowings from Hamburg to London Heathrow last year-this short flight was enough to say no more- will never book with them again as seats in economy were really cramped and uncomfortable. Also we had reserved seats beforehand on their website but when we arrived at the airport this was ignored and we were given seats at the back.
  7. Covepointcruser- The QM2 is not just about dining in the Britannia restaurant. Many people have their evening meal in the Kings Court and It’s a matter of opinion whether a room service dinner is any better.
  8. Everything is still a mess - there is an invoice claiming hundreds of dollars for shore excursions which we already paid using the OBC months ago
  9. According to the Port of Nice website, it will dock in Nice https://leportdenice.com/en/cruises/ That crew centre website is full of errors and is not an authority
  10. It is much cheaper to use the National Express coach service which runs between Heathrow and Southampton Coach station and then a 5-10 minute taxi to the cruise terminal. You have a better choice of departure times and the price includes luggage up to a certain weight. We use it all the time and see many people from the US also use this service to get to and from the airport and Southampton. It’s best to book well in advance on their website to get the best price and choice of times.
  11. Easy and cheap to use the National Express coach from Southampton to Heathrow with a short taxi ride from the ship to the coach station beforehand. Cunard do not always provide transfers to the airport.
  12. British Airways on Iberia metal from Heathrow to Barcelona is what we were allocated in September by Cunard. The flight was early morning and same day the cruise started. We were refused a request for upgrade or seat allocation by Cunard in advance, and unable to check in until we arrived at the airport. The only problem fortunately was not the flight but a huge wait at Barcelona airport arrivals as the transfer coaches were badly organised. In hindsight I would book flights myself to have some control over the booking and also fly out the day before.
  13. Yes, weather. The seas near Corsica would have had 24 foot waves according to Captain Carl. Oceania Nautical - same size ship also was in Genoa today, and will be anchoring off Monte Carlo tomorrow, whereas Onward will be docking to facilitate embarkation/disembarkation.
  14. HD Elisabeth Vogel on Onward is going on holiday tomorrow and Tony Markey will take over as HD. He attended the B2B meeting this afternoon
  15. The future cruise sales person on Onward told us being on a Perry Golf cruise did not impact any non golfers. Apparently the golfers go off the ship to play their golf during the day, then get back onboard at the end of their golf session.
  16. On Onward now. At the welcome toast last night Capt Carl said he was finishing his current stint at the end of this cruise, which ends on Saturday. No news of new captain yet for next cruise.
  17. A singer and her group were playing a set in the Living Room @6pm last night on Onward - it was far too loud My ears were hurting after 10 mins.
  18. Don’t take the 100 bus if you can help it, it’s always overcrowded and liable to be stuck in traffic. The train is far quicker.
  19. The Holiday Inn on Blvd Victor Hugo is in an excellent position. Only 10 minutes walk to the sea, and 10 minutes in the other direction to the main train station. Also regarding the tram stop on the corner of Victor Hugo and Av Jean Medecin, there are escalators as well as stairs. It is a really popular station to get to the airport so plenty of people with luggage use it. Azamara Onward will be docking in the Port of Nice not Villefranche- another tip is to get the tram from the Port- this same tram will take you to the tram stop near your hotel.
  20. Just off QE on Monday and the My Voyage app is now including the Daily Program in its new format.
  21. Please note the orange juice served in the mdr is not real juice. It did not taste good. The hot drinks package is good value if you have at least 2 speciality coffees a day. The Forte tea is also good.
  22. I accidentally purchased one day at the premium rate instead of essential - no discernible difference to the speed. Did not test video streaming.
  23. Carolina_yankee, try changing your browser in order to see the shore excursions. I used to use safari and always got that same message ‘excursions are still being prepared’ for one of our cruises.
  24. Hi jimbo1683, the Lido alternative menu you attached is from last year. Queen Elizabeth was trialling it as Modern British theme, and we had it last September. It was very good, much better than the typical Britannia menu, but it was only available for a few weeks and they have not offered it since. Strangely (or typical of Cunard with their lack of attention to detail), the website and the My Voyage App both show this menu instead of what is actually being currently offered. Also even though Cunard say you can book ahead of the cruise online, it does not actually work. So wait until you are on the ship.
