  1. I have photos from her 2 year younger sister ship, Nieuw Amsterdam, which should be almost exactly the same:)

    Dear Joanie,

I have been on my PC for 3 days trying to get pictures of a VE cabin on the Oosterdam. I have gone to your site many times but the only thing that comes up is the same picture that is in the catalogue HAL TA gave us. For some reason I thought people sent you actual photos from their trips of different cabins and you posted them. I have been all over the CC sites and can find no photos of this type of cabin. Will be on level 5 in 3 months.

Can you point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

    Darlene

  2. I booked an inside 1a guarantee for Jan on the Elation. Maybe I'll get upgraded, but if I don't has anyone stayed in one of these cabins.? I saw the picture above of the bunk beds and since I'll be solo the top bed will be up on the wall and out of the way. But is the lower bed a "normal" twin sized bed like they have in all the other rooms?

  3. I'm 5ft 8in and I tried it out. It was a little tight for me. Mabe it will work for you. Have fun! If all else fails, see if they'll bring you a rollaway bed. Unfortunately the Carnival paperwork is not totally forthcoming as to the size of the "couch" in that suite on the Elation. Hopefully when she is refurbished next year they'll correct that defect.

  4. Is the sofa bed in the suite actually comfortable and too, is the room big enough to keep it "open" all the time. I, personally, don't want to have to pull it out every single night to sleep and I'm NOT sleeping with my mom in the queen bed! Ha, ha.

If you are talking about the "sofa" in a Cat. 11 on the Elation, I hope you are short. It does not open and is more of a love seat. Jerome's pictures show it very nicely. You may decide sleeping with Mom is not such a bad choice. But you'll be so busy most of the time you won't even care. Enjoy!

  5. We were in V15 on the Elation. The balcony was SO cramped I would never book it again. You either had your knees in your chest (almost) or had to dangle your legs over the railing. I am only 5'8" and it was extremely uncomfortable. I usually just went outside and looked over the railing. There was no "relaxing" out there.

  6. Does anyone know if the Elation has been refurbished? And we have V15 so curious about pix on Elation Cat. 11 rooms (since refurbishing). So glad we got our daughter her own cabin (with a friend). She was supposed to stay on couch in our suite, but from the pix she would have hung over the end about a foot.
