  1. I've been searching the boards trying to find out if everyone made it back on board. We just returned yesterday from 9 days in Cozumel. There were several more ships in later in the week because of altered schedules. On Friday the Breakaway was docked at Punta Langosta in town. We were having dinner on the square Friday evening and some officers from the ship came through asking if anyone was from the ship. There were still two groups of passengers and two crew members that were not back on board. They said that on Friday morning passengers were told that they would be in Cozumel until Sunday, but the decision had been made to go ahead and try to get into Miami ahead of the storm to offload the current passengers and pick up those for the next sailing. They were trying to get everyone back on board. They said they could leave as late as 4am and make it back to Miami, but the ship was sitting there burning fuel so they wanted to go ahead and pull out. It was about 9pm at that time. We took the officers to several bars in the area that Americans/cruisers like to visit but didn't find them. The concern was that they had gone over to Playa Del Carmin on the ferry, since they thought they had two nights to kill. The officer said that if they are not back on board when the capitan decides to sail, that they would go into their rooms, pack all of their things and leave them with the port agent, who would then help them get home. I was frank with the guy and told him if I had been told I had two nights to kill, and then the ship sailed early without me, I would be all kinds of pi$$ed off. What if those parties don't have passports? If they can't fly home will they wait until another NCL ship can pick them up? Would NCL put them up in Cozumel? I also wondered how many passengers they would have for the next sailing, as people from Florida may want to stay home with their families during a storm, and people coming into Miami may have a difficult time getting in, or may be hesitant to fly into the potential path of a storm. Anyway, I'm glad that everyone made it back on board before the ship sailed. Hindsite being what it is, they are probaby wishing the ship had stayed in Cozumel. I hope everyone is able to enjoy the extra time on board and stress levels don't rise too much.
  2. We will be boarding her next Sunday for the third time. So excited!

    Money Bar?

That posts seems to be referring to snorkel gear for surface snorkeling. A lot of places that rent snorkel equipment don't rent dive equipment also.

    Money Bar?

Does anyone know if any dive trips leave from the Money Bar? Or do they also rent gear for a shore dive?
  5. Contact Crecensio Lopez with Black Hat Cozumel. You can message him through Facebook. We have used him several times for private tours and have always been very pleased. He will tailor the day to your interests.
  6. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
  7. We are on the Liberty on May 12th. The Key has been sold out for our sailing for weeks. As soon as I learned of it, I went to book it and it was already showing as unavailable. There was a blurb that said check onboard. Even though it was sold out, it was showing a price of $19.99 per person per day. This morning when I did my daily check to see if it was available, the check on board blurb was gone but it still wouldn't allow me to add it to the cart. I called and they said it was sold out. Later I looked again and the price now says $31.99!! That's a little too much, even it it was available.

    Chankanaab?

We go often. It's a beautiful beach with decent snorkeling. Waiters bring your drinks and food to your seats under the palapas, or there are a few restaurants. There is a tour around the dolphin/manatee pens that is free. It's fun and they even take your picture petting one of the dolphins. You pay for the picture if you want it of course. We have done the zipline and found it to be very safe and fun. The sea lion show is also a lot of fun. The pool has a swim up bar. And their is a small little cove for the little ones to play in. And the massages in the open air massage station overlooking the lagoon are wonderful. We always get off the ship as soon as we can and take a taxi to the park. Several times we've been the first ones there and have our choice of palapas. We have usually finished our first round of snorkeling before the cruiseship excursions start arriving. Even when there are many ships in port, ith park has never seemed crowded. We've been to Cozumel many times on cruises and land vacations anc Chankanaab is one of our favorite places to go. You can usually find coupons on their website for $2 off regular admission. If you want to do the zipline, book it in advance to guarantee a time and I believe that will include your park admittance. Have fun!
  9. DH and I are booked for next October. He will be 61 and I will be 56 when we sail. We're looking forward to it.
  10. We use Crecensio Lopez with Blackhat Cozumel. Look him up Blackhat Cozumel on Facebook. We've used him several times and I'm sure we will again in the future.
  11. According the FAQs for the Royal Up program, you only get the points you would have gotten for your original cabin. I was going to bid in an effort to get double points too, until I read that. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-earn-crown-anchor-points-for-the-royalup-upgraded-stateroom
  12. DH and I along with DS and his fiance (wife by then) are booked on this cruise. DH and I might be a little older than the target demographic but we are very excited to give this a try.
  13. Hope you have a wonderful trip with wonderful weather and Beryl peters out to nothing. We are sailing on Freedom next month, so I'm looking forward to your opinions.
  14. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. We are sailing the Freedom next month and are looking forward to it. Also, I like your nail polish color.:)
  15. Liberty is our favorite ship of the ones we have sailed on. We've sailed on her twice out of Galveston and have another cruise booked on her for next May. We also like Lighthouse Parking. EZCruise is good too, but Lighthouse has covered parking and their shuttles seem to be more frequent.
