You will be charged for the entire price of the Red Bull as it is not included I. The free at sea program.

WOW! I wonder if I get to keep the whole can since if i have to pay for it all.  Seems kinda silly that the alcohol is included but not the other when the whole drink wouldn't be over the 15 dollar limit.

    Thanks for the answer!

We are on the Mardi Gras now and of the areas we have been to after the 1st, people who want to wear masks are wearing them and those who don’t want to wear them are not.

These areas include all of the walkways inside of the ship, the comedy show areas, the theater, and even the elevators. At this point, if someone is so concerned about getting Covid by breathing the same air as an unmasked, vaccinated, and recently negative Covid testing person, cruising might not be for them at this time.

My husband and I have already decided that if strict mask mandates are brought back, we will not cruise during that time. The first few days of this cruise and constantly wearing masks really took away from our enjoyment. Now it’s great though. It feels just like old times.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear!!  I didn't want to have to sip and cover while watching the Comedy show or in the theater.  I agree with you, if you feel it unsafe because people can choose to not wear a mask.... then don't cruise right now!!    I don't sail until April so I hope nothing happens and it reverts back.

When sitting at a bar on the Magic which I just got off of a few hours ago 99% of people seated at a bar were not masked at all.. Maybe other ships are different but this was not the case as of 12 hours ago.. Sip and cover was happening in theaters but never at the bars…

So in the Comedy club and theaters was someone walking down the isle making people put their mask back up after a drink or seated???   I am gonna have a hard time with that, I like to drink while watching those shows and I know I will be having fun and forget to  pull my mask back up!!!!   I HATE the mask rule, all the others I'm good with!!! 🍻

This made me curious so I checked another cruise line's site; here is what is stated in FAQ's for Royal Caribbean.

Below are current mask policies. We are continually evaluating mask policies as public health standards and government regulations evolve. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements for their port of departure before sailing.

This guidance is for all guests age 2 and up. Guests under the age of 2 do not need to wear a mask.

Masks are NOT required to be worn:

    • In open-air areas of the ship, unless you are in a crowded setting
    • In the pool or any activity where they may become wet
    • At venues designated for vaccinated guests only, such as select bars, lounges, restaurants and shows
    • In your stateroom when you are with your traveling party
    • While visiting our private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay, unless you are in a crowded setting
    • By any guest under the age of 2

Masks ARE required to be worn:

    • While indoors onboard the ship, unless seated and actively eating or drinking
    • While visiting public ports of call, where local regulations may require them

I have a friend who in October sailed with RCL and then just 3 weeks ago sailed on Virgin and both she said once she was on board the ship she never put one on again, only to disembark the ship.  And she is a rule follower so its not like she was breaking the rules, none of the crew approached anyone to put a mask on inside the ship or even the dining room.

Not even close. While you may come out ahead vs the retail price, it is nearly impossible for them to lose on Cheers. Know the retail price of the bottles they have. Now cut some money off of that because they likely save on taxes or bulk purchases. Your cost of goods would probably not break $200 in a week.

My bar tab rarely exceeds $250 and I don't believe I've ever broken $300 when we didn't buy Cheers. The other half doesn't drink either.

    - Carry on 2 bottles of wine

    - Buy a bourbon bottle onboard for consumption

    - Handful of mixed drinks/cocktails on board (Definitely a margarita or two and some alchemy)

    - Couple of coffees for the other half

    - Couple of drinks at the port

All of that is had for roughly $250. Honestly, I don't find myself in a scenario where I feel like I needed more, wanted to pay $500 more for a sip and dump "try it all" package, or ran up $1000 tabs. I actually like pouring myself a wine right when I get ready for dinner. I like filling my tumbler with a heavy bourbon pour and not having to rely on waiters or bars while at the pool.

Well you are on a ship, so you are not paying retail prices, you can not compare the outside world prices while you are on the ship.  Its their pricing, so if I buy the package at 51.99 plus the 18% that is ruffly 430 bucks for a 7 day cruise..... with sodas, energy drinks, water, alcohol, milkshakes I will easily spend the 61 dollars a day.   So I dont care if you look at it like Carnival is not losing money but I know that I am not spending any more than 61 a day for all the things I will be drinking and enjoying and if I didn't have the package I would for sure spend more than 61 a day.  It's nice to just get what you want at the place you are instead of running back to the room and mixing a drink.  And again, if you are the type that only drinks 1-2 a day then this is not the package for you.   There is no right or wrong answer for this package, its up to each individual and how they want to use it.

  6. We have have done both ways, with and without!!

To me it's pretty easy to decide...... if you drink then it will be a good purchase if you don't drink then its not.  I don't know why people want to bash the Cheer's,(not saying OP is bashing)for the ones who only drink 1-2 alcoholic drinks and no soda then this is not worth it to them but if your someone who likes to drink and try new things and you also enjoy soda's then this could save you money.

For us, Carnival is definitely losing money on us.  And no we don't get stumbling down drunk.  We have a bloody mary in the morning then a couple drinks pool side, then a couple drinks before dinner maybe a glass of wine with dinner and then depending on if we do a show or comedy show maybe a night cap.  Along with a lot of waters and a few sodas throughout the day we more than get "our monies worth".... its not for everyone but for some it is!!

  7. We will be on this ship in April, I'm kinda nervous to see what the changes might be at the end of March when they re-evaluate everything with covid and all the rules.  I'm hoping the 48hr testing and the masks are wayyyy more laxed.      You mentioned the brewery, did you do the tour??  is it a nice size bar or do you need to get there early to get a good seat?

    Thanks for your review!

  8. We did it on our last 7 day cruise, and its a chunk of change to pay up front BUT....if your a drinker then it will be worth it.  Hubby hit the 15 two days and i hit it one day.  And before anyone says that you'll be a sloppy drunk, that is not the case.  We would get up early walk around have couple bloody mary's and then get the Vitamin waters and sodas ALL DAY long, then with supper have 2-3 drinks and we are night owls so we would hit the live music and have a few drinks after supper.  We average waking at 6am and going to bed at 1:30am so that's a long day of all kinds of drinks, not just alcohol. I didn't think of it as we have to drink 15 drinks a day, I just calculated how much money we would have spent and we came out ahead!!  On our 5 day cruise coming up we will purchase it again.  My husband really just likes the convenience of being able to get what you want when you want it and not worry about how much it costs or he try's something new and he may not like it.

but its whatever you think you will drink, you shouldn't feel like you HAVE to drink to save money, it's everyone's own personal decision!!

  9. We will be in this port from 1pm to 9pm, is there any advice on using a company other getting a excursion thru Carnival?  In most ports i have used other places and not Carnival and saved money, and less people in the group.   Just haven't heard much about this port, any suggestions would be great!!

  10. So is there NO elegant night at all on a 5 day?

going to be on the Fantasy out of Mobile in April.

Or there is a elegant night just not lobster on the menu?

Does anyone have a menu that shows what you do get?  I don't care for lobster but my hubby liked it and I was going to tell him the news, and his first question is going to be...."well what is On the menu"!!!  LOL
