  1. I never said I was going to cheat... I was just curious as to what happens if you got caught.  I personally feel like 95.00 for a 5th of Jack thru Carnival is raping people, but to each their own.  People will do what ever they want regardless, I'm sure that those who "sneak" stuff on, don't care about the rules!!  Just my humble opinion!!

I've always had a great time on a cruise, and I'm sure I will continue to do so!!

    Have a great day!!

yes, in port you can bring more sodas back with you.

Nobody has ever "counted" our pepsi's we bring on--we are 3 people and usually put them in our rolling carry on bag...nobody has even opened the bag to see what they are.   I am surprised, unless the scanner can see that its soda vs beer?   Either way, I don't like beer, so its always pepsi :):)

I agree, more Pepsi the better!! LOL

Red Bull doesn't have alcohol in it, and some times i like one in the morning.  Just wasn't sure if it counted against the 12 pack of soda.

I will just have it all in the carry on and see what happens!! LOL

  3. I'm not a fan of Coke products, so I like the fact that I can bring on a 12 pack of Pepsi!!

If I bring a 12 pk of Pepsi and a pack of Red Bull,(in my carry on) will they make me throw away the Red Bull?

What about when your in port, can you bring a 12 pack of soda back on the ship with you and be able to take it back to your room??

  4. do you just put your phone on "plane mode", i dont want to get charged by my cell phone provider.

Usually, I just shut my phone off for 5 days and dont worry about it, but checking the menus would be great but like i said i dont want to get charged by AT&T.

  5. what does happen if "you get CAUGHT"????

For people who tried bringing on a 5th of Jack, and got caught...do they kick you off the ship????

Also, I know you can take a 12pack of soda, what about things like Red Bull, I hate Monster drinks, can I bring both?

  6. Also you can not get tender tickets until everyone in your group is present.

Well there is only 2 of us, so I will be dragging his butt out early!! :D:D

Its for the stingray tour, with aquis (cant remember full name now) and it stated that its a 5-10min walk to where they meet. This is the only thing I really want to do on this cruise so fingers crossed, we will get there on time!!!

  7. Thanks everyone! So since we get there at 7am.....hoping for good weather (of course)...do they start promptly or are they always late? I guess I'm asking should I be in line at 6:30 or if I'm there by 7:30 I should be ok??

again, I have never done this so I don't know what to expect

  8. Are there any tips to getting on one of the boats first? We are going to Cayman Islands 7am to 4pm....... We have a tour at 8:15am and we will have to walk about 10min to the meeting spot. so is there anything I can do to get one of the first boats out?? I've never tendered before!

  9. It all evens out at Fulton. Pay online at $12/day and they tack on a fee. Show up and pay $14/day with no fee. It comes out about the same. The only thing that's truly cheaper is the rooftop parking online. I don't think you can show up and get a rooftop rate.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Ohhhh I see now!! Those sneaky peeps!! ;):')

I guess roof top would be ok...as long as it didn't hail! :o :o:o

Thanks for all the advice, now to just make a decision.

I did look up the Days Inn..shuttle both ways....it doesn't get very good reviews, can anyone local tell me what the surrounding area is like? places to get food or some beer for the evening?? Is it a sketchy area?

  10. Thanks everyone! I am trying to keep costs down as we have already been to New Orleans, we are not looking to party on Bourbon Street!!

I am thinking staying further out and get a cheap hotel room and stay at the fulton parking garage and not book on line. Just show up and park. Why do they charge taxes and a fee if done on line...I really don't want to pay all that!! LOL especially when I can just show up and not pay it!!

  11. ;pI am driving myself crazy!! I am in charge of finding the hotel the night before our cruise! We are leaving out of New Orleans, September 24th..7 day cruise.

I know New Orleans is NOT cheap, and I'm not looking to explore the city, I've been there before. Just want a nights sleep.

I was looking for hotel with shuttle to/from port....that's not happening!! LOL

So is it the cheaper route to stay out in Harvey, Metairie, Gretna??? And then pay to park at port? I've been online and its 99 bucks at Fulton if you prepay..taxes and fee's...do they charge this if you just show up?? Is there always a spot if you don't book online??

Sorry for so many questions, I just don't know what the better deal is....

    someone help me please!!! LOL:o;)

  12. i have my first on board credit of 50.00

since we are also getting the Cheer's package which includes all kinds of drinks.....

what would spend the 50.00 bucks on?? i'm not into jewerly or things that have the ship logo on it so what are some ideas i could use it for?

  13. 4 Fruity Drinks approx $7.00-$8.00

    2 Coffee's approx $5.00-6.00

    1 Energy approx $5.00

At low end that's approx $43.00. That gives you something to think about.

    7.00 -8.00 is before the 15% gratuity ????

    so a more realist charge would be 7.95 x 15%= 9.14

I haven't cruised in about 4yrs, so would this be more accurate?

Or is 7-8 bucks total with everything included!!!

  14. I've been to Cozumel 3 times, we usually stay on the ship cuz we have done everything we have wanted to do there. Then I hear about the Pharmacy. I'm really looking for the Retin-A face cream and maybe a few anitbiotics but nothing in vast quantity.

When you are saying "outside the port"....do you still mean in walking distance.

To be truthful, even tho I have been there alot we dont go out and explore. I'm open to taking a taxi, but if i can walk to outside of the port that will be fine too.

  15. I will be on the Dream in September. We are stopping at Montego Bay, Cayman Island, and Cozumel.

Are there pharmacy's at any of these ports? If so, where are they, in the tourist part or do you have to get a taxi to get to them?

I am not flying so if i do buy stuff will i have any trouble getting it back on the ship and then off the ship to get to my car?

Is there anyone that does go to these places when they are on a cruise because its cheaper?

Any advice is welcome........ I've never been to one before!

    Thanks for the help!;):D:cool:

  16. They're supposed to open it but pay attention to which bartenders open them and which bartenders don't. Find the bartenders that don't when you want to put one in the room.

This will be my first cruise with the Cheers package, and I kinda feel like I have 15 drinks and if I want to drink some at a later time of the day then I should be able too!! So i will be doing this as well when I'm on my cruise with a smile and a thank you!!!:D;)
