    Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for choosing MSC Cruises for your cruise vacation.

We are contacting you with an important update concerning your cruise which was scheduled to sail on 6/1/2024 from Southampton, UK aboard MSC Virtuosa. Due to necessary operational reasons, we regret to inform you that we’ve had to make changes which have impacted your sailing.

    • MSC Virtuosa 6/01/2024, 14-nightsailing has been cancelled.
    • We would like to offer you a new 12-night cruise aboard MSC Virtuosa which will sail from Southampton on6/3/2024. The new itinerary will include visits to beautiful port cities in the Canary Islands, Spain and Portugal before returning to Southampton on 6/15/2024.
    • A prorated refund will be applied for the two (2) missing nights.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and any disruption to your vacation.

They have also cancelled the 29th June 2024 cruise and moved them to 13 July 2024

  2. We did Virtuosa for the first time in November Northern Europe cruise afrer over 20 Royal/Celebrity cruises, i can honestly say that we were pleasantly supprised. Ok the ship wasnt full but it is a beautiful ship the service was excellent, cabin was great and we eat in MDR food was certainly on a par with what Royal offer now maybe not Celebrity standard but plenty of choice.

We only went to the buffet for late night pizza which was definitely the best we have had on any cruise ship.

Butchers cut speciality was as god if not better than any we have been to.

We have now booked a 14 night in June and a 15 night in September.

  4. MSC 2019 Results if intrested

MSC Cruises has reported net income of 405 million euros on revenues of 3.2 billion euros for 2019, compared to net income of 348 million euros on revenues of 2.7 billion euros for 2018.

MSC also reported more than 2.7 million passengers, which it said was an increase of 16.2 percent from the previous year. Occupancy was 112.3 percent, up from 111.6 percent in 2018. Cruise capacity was said to be up 14.4 percent year-over-year.

Fuel expenses increased 24.1 percent to 244 million euros from 196 million euros the year before, mainly driven by the additional capacity and price increases, according to MSC.

Interest expenses decreased to 121 million euros from 127 million euros.

Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, MSC said it has suspended all cruise departures for 45 days, until April 30.

Meanwhile, the company said it has put into place measures to preserve its cash position and referred to credit facilities and other sources of liquidity it may activate if needed, amounting to some 900 million euros, in addition to its current cash position of 183 million euros.

In addition, with ships in lay up, operating costs are being reduced.

Furthermore, MSC stated it is collaborating with key providers and stakeholders to improve its working capital position and is pursuing additional actions by postponing capital expenditures for business initiatives planned in the coming 18 months.

MSC said that because of the circumstances it cannot provide guidance on its financial performance for the year 2020

  5. If we are just quoating

14.4 If MSC Cruises or the Company has to make a significant change or cancel before departure, MSC Cruises or the Company will where compensation is
appropriate, depending on the circumstances and when the significant change or cancellation is notified to the Passenger, subject to the following exceptions listed below compensation will not be payable and no liability beyond offering the above mentioned choices can be accepted where MSC Cruises or the Company is forced to make a change or cancel as a result of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which MSC Cruises or the Company could not have avoided with all due care .

lets just let real people let us know the facts in a real situation we can all quote. 4s or .2s ffs

I ought to mention that the info I gave earlier is regarding a 4th April cruise and I guess cases are being dealt with chronologically by cruise date which is fair enough

Thanks for posting your actual situation hopefully you will be able to update us with a positive outcome

Assuming you booked under UK Terms & Conditions you will definitely get your money back if MSC cancelled your cruise.

    Just look at - https://www.msccruises.co.uk/terms-conditions and goto 15.2 (a)

You say this but has anyone actually been given a full refund regardless of what the T&Cs say, would be nice to see some actual proof that they have been offered a full refund.

As section 14 seems to suggest 15 is not applicable although im no contract lawyer so maybe im wrong.

Anyway i need to get back to my corona shopping need to get the next 2 months of frozen goods in the new chest freezer i just had delivered.

Because it worked so well with the Diamond Princess?😱😱😱

    ?

I think it will be set up properly not just a quarantined ship.

Anyway its better than patience sleeping in medical tents which is what they are currently proposing.

I wouldn't trust MSC from our recent experience aboard Preziosa.  Read the small print and remember they can change anything they like, according to them, without notifying the passengers.

I have nothing to lose it was offered to me by a very senior person within the company if it doesn't happen hey ho i still got what i booked if it dose its a bonus
