  1. For at least a week, I’ve been trying to log on to Celebrity’s site. I keep getting BAD REQUEST 400 (or something similar). I am able to log in to the app but there doesn’t seem like there’s a way to access luggage tags from the app. Any thoughts?

    thanks.

That name sounds familiar he may have been the beverage manager on my November 20th Silhouette sailing who delivered the Beringer to my cabin. Very tall man.

So what’s your secret? I’m E+ and have never had wine gifted to me by X.

  3. Hello all, we will be on our first Viking cruise in March. We know policies change frequently, so we’d like first hand info from someone currently or very recently onboard.

Are there any advantages to waiting until we’re onboard in March to book a 2025 cruise? Of particular interest is the final payment date. V wants 14 months in advance if we book now. We’d like a shorter date.

Any other perks like OBC, etc. to booking onboard?

    Thanks for your help!

  4. We had a lovely dinner in Eden. We had purchased dining/tip online prior to the cruise.

The next day we had a $96 and a $10 charge, both marked Eden, listed on our account. When I called to question these charges, they said we had the “tasting” menu ($96 extra) and the $10 was “extra gratuity” that we had authorized.

I informed him that we did not have the tasting menu, nor did we authorize an extra tip. He apologized and removed the charges.

Honest mistake? Hmm. Just a heads up to watch charges. We could have easily overlooked these.

Our  upgrade was economy comfort plus... (more leg room & tilt on seat back ) so not as expensive as business class but still worth a try.

Natashla...have you tried calling the airline direct & asking if you can upgrade & pay the difference? We called direct to Delta & paid them for just an economy plus upgrade each for our long flight back from Santiago, which we also have free air from Viking. I don't know if Air Canada will let you do this but it might be worth a try!!!! We have always had good service from Viking Air also in the past. A couple times we have paid the extra $50 (it is more now) to choose our own airline & flights.

Thank you! I’ll give it a try.

If you book flights independently and arrive on Day 1 and depart on Day last, you can purchase Viking transfers for about $50pp, per transfer.  Transfers are included with pre and post Viking hotel extensions, again arrive on day 1 of extension and depart on day last.  If your independent flight arrives on cruise Day1, request the transfer to the ship on the form below. Viking will get you from the ship to the post extension hotel, and then to the airport for no fee, but again the form must be completed since you wouldn’t have Viking Air.  We requested a transfer via the form, and received email confirmation, and it is noted on a revised invoice.

    Thanks for your response.

I didn’t intend to belabor the transfer issue, which is annoying but ancillary.

My main concern is why can’t we get Business Class seats through Viking? We were led to believe we had this choice so long as seats are available and they are.

  7. First time on Viking….we booked a cruise for March 2024 and just received our air itinerary. I called today to upgrade to Business class.

The very pleasant Viking rep informed me that, despite the fact that Air Canada still has business class seats available on our flights, Viking isn’t offering them!

I would need to book air independently (to include loss of ground transportation.)

This came as quite a shock to us. The Viking rep apologized and said this is very unusual but Viking offers no upgrades on these particular flights (Rome to Orlando). She also indicated that Air Canada has the right to assign us seats and doesn’t need to abide by our seat selections.

Has anyone experienced this? Do we have any recourse other than booking independently? We purchased the Viking post package in Rome so don’t see this as a good option.

An added benefit of using a travel agent is that you can pay with credit card and get the benefits.

Can you please explain what the benefits are? I’m a first time VO cruiser and for other lines, always use a big box TA. Since they don’t book VO, I’m using a small independent TA. She hasn’t mentioned any “benefits.” Thanks!
