  1. Thank you for your great write ups on dally activity on board the elegant ms. Statendam . I am surprised about the pork chop. We sailed from March 29 till May 12 on ms. Statendam and I found the pork chop to be very well cook, not dry at all and had very little fat. I actually commented to the Dining Room Mgr. on how good it was.

I look forward to hear about the Black and White Ball.

  2. gee.... when did the Holiday Inn become Wyndham?

We checked into the Holiday Inn on Feb 27/13, and checked out of the Wyndham on Mar 2/13. The turnover happened on March 1.

They did renovate a lot of the rooms. Personally I hate having the closet in the same room as the shower, and toilet.

  3. We just returned from a 7-day on Royal Caribbean. Their daily is $11.65 per person per day. I had to go to the Front Office to fill out a form to indicate to be charged. They then distribute envelopes to each cabin with a slip of paper with our cabin # and name indicating that we are paying the daily tipping.for "The Head Waiter,( which supervises a group of tables their tip is 75Cents per day per person. The cabin steward gets $5/day/person. Our dining room waiter got 3.75/person /day. You could also add a cash tip if you wanted they did not have to pool this money

Royal Caribbean pays their dining room stewards and their cabin stewards $50. US per month and the rest of their monthly salary comes from gratuities that are paid every 2 weeks

  4. We are on the Rotterdam for 60 Days. Jan. and Feb. 2012 , so far I have about 15pr of shoes and sandals that I have taken out of my closet. In a month I will start so r seriou tweaking and will hopefully end up with only 3pr dress shoes, 1 pr for the ship, 2 or 3 sandals, 1 pr of dressy loafers and a pair of walking shoes.......that should do it.

  5. Wow very interesting. BTW not all costume jewellery turns your fingers green. I'm very interested in knowing what a magic skirt is. Sounds neat.

Moisanite is a man made diamond that even a diamond tester will test positive. I bet there are many people out there that have them and we all think they are wearing big diamonds.

  6. We spent a few days in Vancouver pre and post cruise this past September. The trolley is definitely the best way to see the city. Be sure to get off and enjoy the sites. Stanley park is absolutely beautiful. There is also another free trolley that takes you to different sites within the park. Since it was raining pretty hard when we we were at the park we took the park trolley rather than walk. We also spent some time at the aquarium. We then got back on the trolley and got off at Gastown. We went to Storeyum and enjoyed it very much. There were many other stops on the trolley that we didn't have time to get to.

The next day we went to Capillano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain. They are very close to each other and can be done on the same day. We had a great day.

We also took the ferry over to Granville Island which I did not enjoy as much as the other sites.

I hope this helps, we planned our stay in Vancouver from the advice of people on these boards and had a fantastic time.

Can't remember which Thread I was reading but apparently Storeyum closed in 2008.
